Vernon “Vern” A. Trimble ~ December 19, 2024

Livonia:  At age 79, Vern passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, NY.  He was born on December 5, 1945, in Rochester, NY to the late Elmer and Marion Trimble.  Survived by his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Faith A. (Kline) Trimble, his daughters, Mechele (Jeff) Palmiter, and Laura (Erik) Adamson, and his grandchildren, Daelyn Palmiter, Aleena Palmiter.

Vern was a devoted patriot, a loving family man, and an avid golfer. Born with a deep love for his country, he proudly displayed American flags throughout his life and served with honor as a Vietnam War veteran in the renowned “Big Red One” division after being drafted. His service exemplified his unwavering dedication to the nation he held so dear.

An enthusiastic golfer, Vern played three times a week and achieved the rare feat of shooting his age twice — at 72 on August 13, 2018, and again at 73 on September 25, 2019.

Vern built a successful career at Bird’s Eye Foods, where he worked for 29 years. Beyond work, he found joy and solace at “the farm,” the family’s land in Springwater lovingly referred to as “camp.” There, he spent countless weekends enjoying the outdoors, creating cherished memories with loved ones.

Known for his kind soul and generous spirit, Vern was always ready to lend a helping hand to his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and selflessness that will forever be remembered by all who knew him.

William “Bill” A. Chapman Boyea ~ December 17, 2024

Honeoye: At age 63, Bill passed away unexpectedly at his home in Honeoye, NY. He was born on February 24, 1961, to the late William Chapman and Reata (Brockway) Boyea in Fort Covington, NY. Survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Janice (Sackett) Boyea, his children, Alyssa (Courtney Owens) Boyea, Jarrid (Courtney) Boyea, his grandchildren, Kylie Boyea, Mia Boyea, Wyatt Boyea, Simon Boyea, and Mairin Boyea, his step-father, Dale Boyea, his siblings, Cindy (Joe) Marushak, Stephanie (Brian) Bean, Nicole (Andy Norwood) Boyea; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Bill moved down from the North Country when he was a young boy. He grew up in Rush, NY, and when not in school, spent his time on the ice playing hockey, astride his dirt bike, or working at the local greenhouse. His love of all things mechanical led him to auto mechanic work, and CNC machines. After a brief stint as an electrician, his life’s journey took him to more outdoor endeavors in harness racing, the wood business, and shooting sports. When the hard work and “play” took a toll on his body, he retired to a life of Grandpa duties, chief handyman, and groundskeeper for his family. Bill was a man of few words with an enormous heart, and is already deeply missed.

Linda L. Johnston (Staley) – December 16, 2024

Geneseo:  At age 77, Linda passed peacefully, from Alzheimer’s Disease, on Monday, December 16, 2024 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris, NY.  She was born on September 30, 1947 in Dansville, NY to the late William and Florence “Tilly” (Bayless) Staley.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband George Terry Johnston, sister-in-law Rose Claud Staley, brother-in-law Howard Smith, niece Tracy Staley Erwin, and nephew Curtis Scott Grant.

Survived by her sons;  Shawn (Joan) Johnston of Geneseo and Jason (Kim) Johnston of Mt. Morris; grandchildren, Natalie Johnston, Lydia Johnston, and Kody Mosher; siblings, Judy Talbot, Sue Smith, Fred (Sheila) Staley, Dennis Staley, and Mary Jane (Curtis) Grant; brother-in-law AJ Johnston; also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dorothea “Dotty” Campbell (Holland) – December 16, 2024

Honeoye, NY – At the age of 91, Dorothea “Dotty” Campbell passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 16, 2024. Born in Rochester, NY, she was the cherished daughter of the late Ernest and Dorothea (Wilczewski) Holland.

Dotty was predeceased by her loving husband, Bruce Campbell; her sisters, Beverly Holland and Carole Hoag; her brother, Leo Holland; her son-in-law, Ric Skinkle; and her brother-in-law, Alexander “Sandy” Campbell Jr.

She is survived by her devoted children: Sharon (Hank) VanderTang, Catherine Campbell, Bruce (Katherine) Campbell, Laurie (Rich) Gamrod, Kevin (Maria) Campbell, and Denise Skinkle. Dotty also leaves behind a legacy of love in her grandchildren: Alec Campbell, Molli (Philip) Floyd, Brooke Campbell, Jessy (Wesley) Wiggins, Alexandra (Kyle) Higgins, Victoria and McAndrew Gamrod, Brittany (Robbie) Mackness, Katie (Christian) Marquez, Morgan (Samantha) Campbell, Collyn and Craig Skinkle; as well as her eleven great-grandchildren: Madison, Elyse, Maverick, Cason, Campbell, Knox, Millie, Sloane, Camille, Eleanor, and Stevie. She will also be dearly missed by her sister, Virginia Koch, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

Dotty graduated from Honeoye Central School in 1950 and remained a lifelong resident of Honeoye. She shared a deep love of adventure with her late husband Bruce, traveling the country in their motorhome, often accompanied by family and friends.

A talented seamstress, Dotty spent countless hours crafting beautiful pieces for her family, including Halloween costumes, prom and wedding dresses, and annual matching holiday pajamas for her grandchildren. She found joy in tending to her flower gardens and treasured every moment spent with her family.

Professionally, Dotty served as a clerk at the Livonia Post Office for over 15 years. She was an active and dedicated member of the community, participating in organizations such as Eastern Star OES #350, Honeoye-Hemlock Auxiliary 1278, the Honeoye United Church of Christ, and the Honeoye Historical Society.

Dotty will be remembered as a kind and thoughtful wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Deborah K. Mulligan (O’Coyne) – December 15, 2024

Springwater: At age 65, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024, peacefully at home with loved ones by her side. She was born on April 21, 1959, to the late Cyril and Jacquline (Banwell) O’Coyne. Debbie is predeceased by her sister Jill M. Owens. Survived by her husband of 45 years Michael K. Mulligan, son, Kevin M. Mulligan, sister, Sandra A. Loudin, nieces Jessica Randall, Nicole Stefano-Smith, Tammy Conley, Elizabeth Curran, and nephews Donly Northrop, Jim Kingsley and AJ Ingerick, as well as several grandnieces and nephews.

Debbie was a lover and a fighter. She had a fierce love for her family, friends, and animals, but she truly was a fighter! She defied the odds for the last 8 years, with doctors telling her she was a miracle, we called her the “Energizer Bunny”.

Debbie worked at Champion Products in Livonia and Perry for over 25 years. She then took a job as a custodian/cafeteria monitor at both Livonia and Honeoye Schools. She enjoyed the teachers and youngsters! She loved her plants, and gardens, watching “her” birds, spending time with family and friends, and making everyone laugh. Her favorite saying was “Everybody loves Deb.”

Debbie made the decision to donate her body to the University of Rochester Anatomical Program, in the hopes that one day she could help someone else suffering from cancer. Even in death, Deb wanted to help others.

Raymond “Ray” Schottmiller ~ December 14, 2024

Rochester: At age 91 Ray passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2024.  Ray Is predeceased by his son Gregory Schottmiller, his parents Charles and Edna Schottmiller, and his brother Jack Schottmiller.  Survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Tina (Caschetta) Schottmiller, his children, Mark Schottmiller, Mary (Diane Schlegel) Schottmiller, and Linda Schottmiller (Jeff Sainsbury), his daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Schottmiller, his brother, Richard (Marcia) Schottmiller, and his grandchildren, Kyle Schottmiller, Zachary (Lauren) Schottmiller, Molly Schottmiller, Kaitlyn Schottmiller, Juliana D’Orazio, and Isabella D’Orazio, along with several nieces, nephews, friends.

Ray was born on April 15th, 1933 along with twin brother Richard to Charles and Edna Schottmiller and older brother Jack in Rochester. He graduated from Aquinas Institute, Rochester Business Institute and most proudly was a 1956 graduate of St. Bonaventure University. He loved to speak of his time at St. Bonaventure, would go back to visit often, and would proudly wear his Bonnies sweatshirts and hats. After graduating he spent two years in the US Army where he enjoyed seeing Europe. Upon returning home, he met his wife Tina at a church dance and went on to be married for 64 years and welcomed four children. Ray worked as a data processing manager at Delco Products for over 30 years before retiring from there in 1990. For over 50 years Ray had his own successful tax preparation/investment business. He loved this work and helping his clients. Ray was immensely proud of his children and six grandchildren and loved hearing about their accomplishments. Ray loved saying the rosary, singing to his family, going to Red Wings games, checking on his stocks’ performance, having a cheeseburger or white hots with sweet relish, classic movies, traveling to historic places, and visiting his children and grandchildren wherever they might have been, his daily outing for coffee and apple fritters, and making his grandchildren laugh. He will always be remembered for his humor and generosity. We will always miss him with all of our hearts.

Friends and family are invited to call from 9:45 – 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 43 Gebhardt Road in Penfield, NY, where Ray’s Funeral Mass will immediately follow at 10:30 AM. Mary E. Lane ~ December 12, 2024

Honeoye:  At age 71, Mary passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.  She was born to the late Walter and Betty Smith on December 27, 1952, in Macedon, NY.  Mary is predeceased by her beloved husband, Alan W. Lane.  Survived by her son, Jason Lane, her siblings, Kathy (Lynn) Barnsdale, David (Barb) Smith, Larry (Karen) Smith, and Craig Smith, and her close friend, Brenda Tripp, along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Frederick M. Hyatt ~ December 8, 2024

Fowlerville/Caledonia: At age 81, Fred passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at the Elderwood at Hornell Nursing Facility in Hornell, NY. He was born September 28, 1943 to the late William and Mable (Ryan) Hyatt. Fred is predeceased by his grandson Michael Miller, sister Linda Hyatt, and his brother, Dwayne Hyatt. Survived by his wife, Jeanne (Ricard) Hyatt; daughters, Crystal (David) Rudney and Billie Jo Hyatt; sons, Fred Hyatt Jr., Robert (Melissa Rader) Hyatt, and John Hyatt; grandchildren, Misty (Ben) Gardner, Mindy Miller, Maranda (Jason) Bailey, Megan (Macaulee) Carey, Daniel Wright, Abbriella Hyatt, Aunna Lee Hyatt, Jesika (Robert) Hess, Vincent Strathern, and MacKenzie Hyatt, as well as several great-grandchildren. Also surviving Fred is his sister Donna Theriac.

Fred graduated from Caledonia High School in 1961 and soon after served in the US Army from 1962-1965, where he was stationed in Germany. After the service he worked for Delco in Rochester as a Millwright for many years.

His greatest hobby was working on his land planting trees and he was always very proud of the cabin he built there. Fred always enjoyed Ford trucks and loved to take them off-road.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed for his kind heart and thoughtfulness. He will always be remembered as our superhero for his strength to keep pushing forward. He was the strongest man we know.

Gregory J. Koehnlein – December 6, 2024

Honeoye: At age 76, Greg passed at his home in Honeoye, NY. He was born in Rochester, NY, Greg was predeceased by his parents, William and Thelma (Scott) Koehnlein, and brothers Gary Koehnlein and Gene Koehnlein. He is survived by his brother Glen Koehnlein (Martha) of Nokomis, FL, Sister-In-Law Linda (Woods) Koehnlein of Honeoye, nephew Reed Koehnlein of Bonita Springs, FL, Casey (Jennifer) Koehnlein of Honeoye, NY and niece Jamie (Connor) Koehnlein of East Calais, VT.  Additionally, Greg is survived by numerous cousins.

Greg graduated from Honeoye Central School and then the Maryland Institute of Fine Art and pursued a career as a Graphic Illustrator. After a stent with the Peace Corp he settled in Kenya Africa working at the University of Nairobi and then United Nations Environmental Protection Agency in Nairobi. Greg also indulged in many original paintings and extensive photography.

Greg loved his life of solitude in his modest home up on a hill in the woods and loved hunting and fishing.

Patricia Mae Kellogg (Leiby) – December 4, 2024

Conesus/Livonia: At age 90, Patricia passed peacefully on December 4, 2024 at the Leo Care Center; St. Ann’s Home in Rochester, NY. She was born on September 7, 1934 in Sayre, PA to the late Millard and Sarah (Young) Leiby. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Robert W. Kellogg, son William R. Kellogg, and her son-in-law Thomas Inskeep.

Survived by daughters, Carol Inskeep of Webster and Linda (Santo Bentivegna) Kellogg also of Webster; grandchildren, Dan (Heather) Kellogg, Justin (Kristen) Kellogg, Braden Inskeep (Emily Bielewicz), Carly (Ciera) Fitzpatrick, Matthew Johnson, Sarah (Samuel) Jelfo, and David (Jane) Bentivegna; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Evan, Levi, Mason, Gabriella, Jim and Fred. Also survived by brothers Bill (Karen) Leiby and Douglas (Helen) Leiby; many nieces, nephews, and caregivers.

Pat and her husband Bob were married for 66 wonderful years. They enjoyed many travels together all over the United States, sailing their boat, The Impulse, on Seneca Lake, and wintering at their home in Arcadia, Florida. Pat most loved their home on White Road in Conesus where she would tend to her flowers and watch the deer in her yard.

Pat was an avid gardener and a voracious reader. She loved camping and long walks in nature. She enjoyed adventures with her dear friend, Nadia Gardener. Her most favorite activity was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the heart of family holidays. Her ham dinners and apple pie will live on in our family memories.

Pat was a Registered Nurse, graduating from Robert Packer School of Nursing. She worked for many years at Conesus Lake Nursing Home in Livonia. She was very proud of her work as a nurse and maintained long-standing friendships with her co-workers.

Pat’s family would like to thank the hospice staff at The Leo Care Center. Their compassion and dedication to the residents they care for is beyond measure.

Anna R. Giuliani – December 4, 2024

Livonia Center/Livonia: Anna R. Giuliani passed away at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on August 27, 1929, to the late Louise (Panipinto) and Batista Giuliani. Anna is predeceased by her sisters and brother-in-law Angeline (Joseph) Rizzo and Anna Giuliani, as well as her brothers and sisters-in-law Anthony (Irene) Juiliani, Joseph (Nancy) Guilian, Lawrence Giuliani, Victor Giuliani, and her nephews James Rizzo and Edward Juiliani. She is survived by her many nieces and nephews.

Anna began her career in Manhattan’s fashion industry. She loved the city and enjoyed the time she spent there. After leaving Manhattan, she moved back to Livonia Center and landed a job at Kodak.

She took great pride in preparing meals for family gatherings after church on Sundays at the homestead in Livonia Center. She also hosted many family holiday dinners and loved sharing her homemade Italian cookies with everyone.

She was an active member of St. Matthew Church in Livonia and St. Michael’s Church in Livonia Center.

She was always up for many adventures with her friends and family. She loved the theater and enjoyed traveling to see Broadway plays in New York City, as well as top theater productions in Toronto and other cities.

She also enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean Islands, attending the Feast of San Gennaro in Little Italy, visiting Las Vegas, spending time hosting family from Italy, and traveling to Italy to spend time with them.

Her hobbies included gardening, playing cards, and decorating her house for various holidays.

In her later years, she received devoted care from her family members and their families: Patricia (Roger) Brisbane, Mary Jo (Robert) Simpson, Monica Guilian (Alan Roome), Jerry (Brandy) Guilian, Joseph (Jamie) Guilian, and Lawrence (Tammy) Guilian, who helped her immensely.

David A. Love ~ December 3, 2024

Groveland:  At age 68, David passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.  He was born on May 24, 1956, to the late David and Shirley Love. Dave is predeceased by his step-father, Robert Dantz, sister, Judy Love, his very special cousin Tom Roffe, and his brother-in-law David Caldwell. He is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn (Adamo) Love, son, Michael (Melissa Redman) Love daughter, Jean Love, and granddaughter, Jade Love. Sisters, Kim Caldwell, and Lori Dantz, along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, many nieces, nephews, and many friends he loved deeply.

He retired from the University of Rochester after many years in Facilities management where he became great friends with many attending monthly luncheons after retirement.

David shared a special bond with his wife of 46 years attending many events together sharing many of the same interests, flea markets, yard sales, gun raffles, shopping, and ending the night with a cup of tea and watching westerns.

Dave was a devoted family man. He found immense joy in spending time and supporting his family and loved ones. He looked forward to working with Jean on getting ready for Camping, working on her house, and having Sunday dinners while watching football together.

Dave had a lifelong appreciation for the great outdoors. Especially when he spent time hunting with his son Mike, his family, and his buddy Mark. He held great respect and appreciation to both the owners and the land he was offered the opportunity to hunt. He was especially grateful for his time hunting on Dairy-Knoll Farms and forever thankful to the Meyer family

He had a special bond between himself and his granddaughter Jade from playing basketball before school, taking her to school, and watching her concerts and dance recitals. He was the Best Grampee to her. They played practical jokes on each other quite often, usually with snakes and spiders because she knew Grampee did not care for them.

Ronald “Ron” R. Ochs ~ December 2, 2024

Nunda:  At age 67, Ron passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, December 2, 2024, at his home in Nunda.  He was born on February 23, 1957, in Rochester, NY to the late Joseph and Marjorie Ochs.  Ron is predeceased by his siblings, Jerome Ochs, James Ochs, and John “Jack” Ochs.  Survived by his beloved wife of nearly 46 years, Wendy L. (Gresens) Ochs, his children, Jessica L. Ochs of Nunda, and Daniel R. (Rebecca) Ochs of Nunda, his siblings, Barbara Klein of Rochester, Kathleen (Gene Bouley) Shaw of FL, and Kenneth (Christine) Ochs of FL,  his grandchildren, Jack, Nick, and Mike Ochs, his Godson, Austin Ochs, and Goddaughter Kaity Price along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Ron enjoyed sports both as a child and as an adult. He fondly told stories of playing. basketball, football, and baseball in his youth.  He joined the US Navy near the end of the Vietnam War and shared his experiences both on the USS Rowan and his experiences while away from the ship. Upon his discharge, he returned to Rochester and went to MCC where he fell in love. There was a pinball game “Gold Strike” that would capture his interest, along with an admiring wife-to-be. Ron had many jobs, mostly focusing on logistics. In 1996 the idea of Nunda Mustard, made from his Grandma’s recipe, became a reality. He took great pride in it being a family-based product and shared ownership of “Golden Oaks Foods” with his wife. Ron’s love of sports as an adult included bowling, horseshoes, bocce, softball, and cheering for his teams, the Baltimore Orioles and the Buffalo Bills. His picture above was taken after the Bills win over the Chiefs on November 17th.  One of his fond memories included Summer Jam at Watkins Glen. The music that carried him throughout life.
