Daniel C. Price – April 27, 2017

Canaseraga/Livonia: Passed peacefully on April 27, 2017 at age 66 years. Predeceased by parents Eugene & Marian Price, brother Jim Price, and son Joshua Price. Survived by his wife Joyce Price and children; Tommy Linzy (Stephanie Stafford) of Livonia, Diana (Edwin) Roniger of Kent, and Michelle (Rob) Desautels of VT; grandchildren, Ashley, Nikole, Tommy, Nichole, Jeff, Kaitlyn, Danielle, Alexis, Alaina, and Aiden; 2 great-grandchildren, Colton and Michael. Also survived by siblings; Dave (Bonnie) Price, Carol (Buster) Miller, Deb (Kelly) Sutterlin. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a family of friends.

Dan was born on May 2, 1950 in Warsaw, NY to parents Eugene & Marian Price. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Dan was a Master Automotive Technician for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, camping, kayaking, snowmobiling, hiking, and most recently he enjoyed restoring wooden canoes. His retirement gave him time to work on many projects including a complete restoration of a 1963 Shasta camper. Dan belonged to the Tuscorara “Spotsman” Club and also belonged to the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association and the Tin Can Tourist Organization. His passion for the Adirondacks will always be part of his heart and soul. The family extends their gratitude to all the loving members of the Vincent House in Wayland, NY for the compassion and care provided to Dan and his entire family.

Arlene E. VanNorman – April 26, 2017

Livonia: April 26, 2017 at age 89 years. Predeceased by her husband William L. VanNorman and her daughter Donna J. Booher. Survived by her son Larry (Karen) VanNorman and her daughter Sandra Brown (Dave Crane) all of Livonia. George Evans Cullinan ~ April 25, 2017

Avon: George Evans Cullinan, April 9, 1927 to April 25, 2017, died peacefully, at age 90 years, in Rochester, New York. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Martha Collins Cullinan and his son, Rick Cullinan, parents Frank and Mary Agnes Cullinan, brothers, Mike, Charlie, Tim, Danny, and sister Mary Ellen Burke.

Survived by his daughter Mary Joan Cullinan of Rochester and his son, Peter Cullinan of San Francisco. Loving grandchildren, Cody (Ashley), and Courtney Cullinan. 7 great grandchildren and many devoted nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Born April 9, 1927 and raised in Avon, New York. George graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1950. His studies were interrupted by the draft. He served in the Navy from 1945-1947 returning to complete his degree.

Upon graduation, he worked for Household Finance Corporation in Washington, DC. He and Martha were married on July 21, 1951 settling in Arlington, VA. They returned to Avon when he and his brother Tim purchased the Avon Hardware Corporation. Eventually selling his share to Tim in 1972. He went on to have a successful career in sales from Hardware Wholesalers Inc. George retired after 15 years as an auditor for the State of New York.

George was a community leader serving 20 years as an elected representative of the Avon Town Board. He was a founding member of the Avon Ambulance Corps and active parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church, St. Agnes Eagle Society and St. Agnes School Scholarship Fund. He was an active and dedicated alumnus of the Notre Dame Alumni Association.

He possessed a keen intellect and was a voracious reader of American History. He will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, sharp wit, storytelling, and delicious sense of humor. George was a devoted son, husband, and father, grandfather and uncle.

The family wishes to thank his nieces Julie Ayers and Barb Dolgos, nephews Patrick and Richard Burke. Jim Dolgos and Jeannette Cullinan and many friends for their acts of kindness.

Predeceased by her father Charles Biggs, her father-in-law Leo Grossi, her sister-in-law Mary Ann Viola, and her brother-in-law Junior Valerie. Survived by her husband of 45 years Jonathan Grossi, her mother Jane Biggs, 3 cousins; Danny Gmeinweiser, Elaine (Paul) Rosa, and Barbara (Donald) Bontempo. Also survived by her sisters-in-law; Judith (Ronald) King and Patty (Vincent) Reitano; nieces & nephews, Joey (Suzie) Valerie, JaneMarie Valerie, Vincent (Alicia) Valerie, Ronald King Jr., Jonathan Valerie, and Leo (Numai) Viola; great nieces & nephews, Alison and Nicholas Viola, Giovanni and Antonio Valerie, and many dear friends. Marilyn was born on October 4, 1952 in Rochester, NY where she lived for many years. She attended Marshall High School and later worked at Rochester Telephone. She met Jonathan Grossi when they were teenagers and they later married on May 20, 1972 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rochester, NY. Marilyn and John lived in the City of Rochester but for many years have lived in the beautiful hills of Canadice, NY where they enjoyed nature and the outdoors.

Honeoye: Peacefully at Ontario Center in Canandaigua, NY on April 23, 2017, surrounded by her family, at age 93 years.

Mary worked as a secretary at the Quaker Oaks Company in Depew, NY and then left the company to take care of her family. Mary enjoyed living on Honeoye Lake with her son and daughter in-law.

Mary was predeceased by her husband Chester Buehlmann, her parents Henry and Lillian Young Sr., and her brothers Henry and Robert Young. Mary is survived by her son Paul (Joan) Buelhmann and her daughter Linda (Robert) Bennett. She is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends and neighbors.

Patricia Ann Klemmer (Halpin) “Patty” – April 20, 2017

Caledonia: April 20, 2017 at age 62 years. Predeceased by her parents Theodore & Marie Halpin, her father-in-law Allan Klemmer, and her nephew Matthew Halpin. Survived by her husband of 42 years Paul Klemmer and children; Jason (Nicole) Klemmer of Avon and Erika (Kyle) Edwards of Caledonia; grandchildren, Liam, Cole, Grayson, and Henry; siblings, Susan Halpin, Mary (Robert) Halpin-McNamara, and Theodore (Marli) Halpin Jr.; nieces & nephews, Josh (Deb), Andy (Emily), Lizzie (Ryan), Lauren (Patrick), and Teddy. Also survived by her mother-in-law Vera Klemmer, sister-in-law Peggy Klemmer, several great nieces & nephews, many dear friends, including her longtime golf partner Sandy Driscoll, and her cat Itty Bitty.

Patty was the office manager at the family business, Dugan Creek Lumber. Through hard work, dedication and perseverance the Klemmer family built Dugan Creek Lumber from the ground-up to where it thrives today. Patty greatly enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Conesus Lake where she would enjoy a glass of wine while watching the sunset. She was an avid reader, golfer, and greatly enjoyed cooking. She was a role model to many through her dedication to family and positive attitude. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved her kids and was incredibly proud of them. Patty had a special relationship with her grandchildren whom will greatly miss her. A truly wonderful person who brought joy and happiness to all.

Survived by her husband of 45 years, Guy Murdoch Ward and daughters; Jennifer Ivers Ward of Fairport and Sarah Ann Ward of Ovid; granddaughters; Katelyn Ann Kress and Irelyn Ward. Cindy was involved in many community activities including the Finger Lakes Rug Hooking Guild, 4H, the Honeoye-Hemlock American Legion Auxiliary, and she was a member of the Canadice Methodist Church. She was also a recipient of the Rotary Paul Harris Award. Cindy was an art teacher at the Honeoye Central School district for many years, retiring in 2002.

Don is survived by his mother Caroline Ruth Hungerford-Weden of Avon and his brothers; Robert (Terri) Hungerford of Louisville, KY, Thomas (Laurie) Hungerford of York and James Weden (Sharon Bott) of Rush. Also survived by 3 children, several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Don was born on February 13, 1942 in Rochester, NY to parents Robert and Caroline Hungerford. He graduated from Avon Central School in 1960 and then served his country in the US Army from 1960-1963. Don worked in maintenance at the Rotary Sunshine Camp in Rush, NY for many years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, April 29th, 11am at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Retsof Road, York, New York with military honors. Survived by children; Debbie Johnston of GA, Sherry Cowley (Brian Barnett) of Scottsburg, Stephen Michael Cowley of Dansville, Suzanne Wratni of GA, Mark Cowley of NC, and Michelle Cowley (James Binder) of Scottsburg. Mary was born on August 25, 1930 in Conesus, NY to parents Lowell & Edith Struble. She married Stephen J. Cowley Jr. on July 5, 1952 and they raised their family in Scottsburg. She was a busy mother taking care of children and also working selling Avon in the area. Both Mary and her husband Stephen volunteered at the Sparta Center Fire Department. They lived a good simple life and enjoyed many years together.
