Ray was born on April 15th, 1933 along with twin brother Richard to Charles and Edna Schottmiller and older brother Jack in Rochester. He graduated from Aquinas Institute, Rochester Business Institute and most proudly was a 1956 graduate of St. Bonaventure University. He loved to speak of his time at St. Bonaventure, would go back to visit often, and would proudly wear his Bonnies sweatshirts and hats. After graduating he spent two years in the US Army where he enjoyed seeing Europe. Upon returning home, he met his wife Tina at a church dance and went on to be married for 64 years and welcomed four children. Ray worked as a data processing manager at Delco Products for over 30 years before retiring from there in 1990. For over 50 years Ray had his own successful tax preparation/investment business. He loved this work and helping his clients. Ray was immensely proud of his children and six grandchildren and loved hearing about their accomplishments. Ray loved saying the rosary, singing to his family, going to Red Wings games, checking on his stocks’ performance, having a cheeseburger or white hots with sweet relish, classic movies, traveling to historic places, and visiting his children and grandchildren wherever they might have been, his daily outing for coffee and apple fritters, and making his grandchildren laugh. He will always be remembered for his humor and generosity. We will always miss him with all of our hearts.

Lillian and I are saddened to hear of our longtime friend’s passing. He was a polite and knowledgeable class act and along with Tina, was always a pleasure to be with. We will miss the bus trips and get-togethers we shared and they both remain in our thoughts and prayers.
