Henrietta, NY: Theresa “Terri” Marie Pfuntner (Donlon), age 56, passed away peacefully at home on the third of September following a courageous battle against a glioblastoma brain tumor. She was surrounded by many loved ones, including her devoted husband of 12 years, Troy Donlon, her mother, Patricia Altavena, and her sisters Kimberley (Pfuntner) Starr and Jeanine (Pfuntner) Alcocer. She was predeceased by her father James Pfuntner, and is survived by her brother Douglas Pfuntner, step father JR Altavena, mother in law Grace Donlon, step daughters Ashley Donlon and Brianna Donlon, nieces Ali (Starr) Colberg, Rachel Starr, Carmen Alcocer, nephews Daniel Starr and Joel Alcocer, close friend Gerry Tyrrell, as well as a large circle of a loving extended family and dear friends.
Terri was a graduate of Geneseo High School, Rochester Institute of Technology and the University of Rochester. Terri was gifted academically and made significant contributions in the scientific field of chemical engineering. Throughout her life she was an avid and prize-winning equestrian. In recent years she divided her time between Rochester, NY and Ocala, FL, and rarely missed a day away from the companionship of her horses and beloved dog Bandit. She cherished her horses, border terrier dogs, family and friends and would do anything for them. Terri is known for her caring and giving nature, generosity, her quick wit, her beautiful smile and her love for life. Terri will be missed deeply by all that knew her, she brought joy to all.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, September 7th, from 5-7pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Rte 20A, Livonia, NY. Terri’s Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 8th, at 11am, at St. Agnes Church, 96 Prospect Street, Avon, NY, Father Michael Fowler will be the celebrant. A graveside committal service and burial will be held at 1pm at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Perkinsville, NY, with a reception to follow at Groveland Fire Station.
