Joan M. Schuster (Crowe) – October 28, 2009

Livonia: Joan M. Schuster (Crowe), of Richmond Mills Road, passed Wednesday morning at Rochester General Hospital. She was born September 5th, 1935 in Washington DC to parents George and Ruth Crowe. Joan grew up in Rochester and graduated from West High School in 1953. She wed her husband George on October 26th, 1957 at St. Monica’s Church on Genesee Street in Rochester. They shared the joy of roller skating by meeting twice a week once at Long Point Park near George’s home town and the other time at Eddy’s on Chestnut Street in the city. In addition to being a home maker on the family dairy farm with her husband and seven children, Joan was employed by the Livonia Central School District as a Teacher’s Aid from 1974 to 1997. Joan enjoyed watching her children and grandchildrens’ sporting events throughout her life.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years George T. Schuster, Jr. and their children; William (Mary) Schuster of Livonia, Robert (Midge) Schuster of Americus, GA, Kathleen (Jeff) Dodsworth, Daniel (Laurie) Schuster, Kevin (Karen L.) Schuster, Karen A. Schuster, and Mary Ann (Gary) Benedict all of Livonia.

Also survived by Sisters; Beverly Tater of Buffalo & Nancy Robbins of Prattsburgh. Brother; Bruce Crowe of Atlanta, GA and by family friend Christine Leskovar. Grandchildren; Michael Schuster, Brittany & Brandon Snyder, Matthew and Sara Schuster, Kaitlin and Kevin Grouse, Jenna Dodsworth, Daniel and Robert Schuster, Scott Schuster, Nicole and Thomas Benedict, numerous Nieces, Nephews, and many friends. Sister-in-Laws; Rita Schuster of Canandaigua, Rose (Dr. Gerald) Joyce of Pittsford, Barbara (Richard) Nowakowski of Conesus and Alice-Ann Schuster of Hyde Park, N.Y.

Josephine E. Pfeiffer – October 21, 2009

Honeoye: Josephine E. Pfeiffer, 97 years of Edgewood Trail, Honeoye, formerly of Webster and Rochester, died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home in Livonia, where she had resided for a short period of time. She was born September 7, 1912 in Cherry, PA., the daughter of John and Josephine Reagan. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Sibley’s and R.T. French Co. both in Rochester. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard C. Pfeiffer on December 26, 1995.

Mrs. Pfeiffer is survived by her sons, John and Robert Pfeiffer both of Honeoye. Her sisters, Christine McDonald of Maryland and Helen Dean of Maryland. Her brother, Charles Reagan of Webster. several nieces and nephews.

Formerly of Canadice Lake Road, Hemlock and Pinehurst Senior Living Community in Honeoye Falls, NY died October 18, 2009 age 88 at St. John’s Home in Rochester after a lengthy illness. He was born in Livonia, NY son of James and Louise Parks DeGraff. Mr. DeGraff is a retiree of Eastman Kodak and also served his country in WWII Army Air Corps.
Mr. DeGraff is survived by children Sharon (David) Houghtaling of Texas, Ronald (Phyllis) DeGraff of Wisconsin, Eric (Sheryll) DeGraff of Conesus, Elizabeth DeMay of New Jersey, Lynn (Leisa) DeGraff of Texas, Paul (Ester) DeGraff of Bloomfield, Peggy (John) Fleig of Conesus, Thomas DeGraff of Texas, Karen (Lee) Sullivan of Canadice; 17 Grandchildren, 4 Great-Grandchildren; brother David (Joy) DeGraff of Rochester; sister Phyllis Kunimura of Hawaii; several nieces and nephews.

South Lima: Tuesday, October 13 at age 82. Hank was born in Golah, NY (West Rush) July 4, 1927 son of Jackson and Cora Merritt Jackson. He was retired from Pinco in Lima.

Donald W.Gendreau, formerly of Rochester, died June 28, 2008 in California. Don served during WW II in the Pacific Theater on Iwo Jima. He was a pilot of a P-61, also known as the “Black Spider” in a nitefighter squadron. He returned safely to his very proud family. He is survived by his wife, Connie, 5 children, 10 grandchildren, 7 greatchildren and his only brother Robert O. Gendreau of Honeoye. 1 niece, 5 nephews and their children.

James J. Carey of Church Hill Road, Henrietta died at St. John’s Home in Rochester October 7, 2009 age 84. James was born in Honeoye Falls September 5, 1925 son of John and Anna Cahill Carey. He was a graduate of Honeoye Falls Central School and RIT where he received his degree in electrical engineering. He was a US Naval Veteran of World War II and an electrical engineer retiring from Chloride Electro Networks in Caledonia.
James is survived by his wife of 59 years, Monica Gaffney Carey; his daughters, Barbara Carey of Olympia, Washington, Mary Ellen (Lewis) Whipple of Webster and Susan Carey of Rochester. 4 Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
