“Quinner” was born in Lompoc, CA as the oldest of six children. Mike especially loved camping and hiking in state and national parks enjoying the beauty of nature. Mike called several states home including California, New York, Colorado, and Oregon and visited 49 of the 50 states. He was an avid sports fan with a particular love for the Anaheim Angels.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 8th, at 10:30am at St. Mary’s Church, 8961 Main Street, Honeoye, NY. A Reception will follow in the community room. Burial will be in the Whitehaven Memorial Park, Pittsford. Henry was born on September 27, 1939 in the Bronx, NY to parents Henry & Alice (Wills) Burk. Henry married Geraldine (Masten) Burk in 1961 and they started their family. They lived in Port Washington, NY for over 25 years. In 1979 Henry started Phoenix Color in Long Island City. He was a part owner and senior vice president until his retirement in 1997. He was a Mason in the Paumanok-Port Washington Lodge # 0855 for over 35 years. Henry loved hunting, golfing, and he was an avid fan of the NY Yankees, the Giants, and the Rangers. Above all Henry loved and enjoyed spending time with Geri, their children, and grandchildren.

He later moved to Deland, FL and started MDB Express Auto Transport. He was an avid car collector, loved motorcycles, ATV’s, and being outdoors. He loved his family and friends, especially his granddaughters.

Elsie H. (Volk) Sonricker ~ November 22, 2014

Attica: Elsie H. (Volk) Sonricker, 91 years of Attica passed away November 22, 2014 at Wyoming County Hospital in Warsaw, NY. Prior to being admitted to the hospital, she was a resident of the Cloisters in Warsaw.

She was born January 14, 1923 in Perrysburg, NY daughter of the late Adam Volk and Catherine Miller and step mother Julia Volk.

Elsie came to Attica with her family in the 4th grade. She went to school with the love of her life, Jim, married and raised their family on the family farm on Sonricker Road. She will always be remembered as a wonderful Wife, Mother and Grandmother. She will also be remembered for her wonderful veggie gardens, canning, baked beans, apple pies, and especially her ability to feed whomever showed up at her door at any given time. Elsie was the “Finisher” and business agent for the family maple syrup business, and was also a school bus driver and 4-H Leader.

Surviving are her three Children, James (Carole) Sonricker of Leicester, Robert (JoAnne) Sonricker of Attica and Susan (Harold) Kennedy of Attica. Nine Grand Children, many Great and Great-Great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Sister-in-law of George and Betty Sonricker and Helen Rudolph Miller of Attica and Helen Rivard of Rhinebeck
She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Jim Sonricker in 2011, and by her Sisters and brothers in law: Grace (John) Marchand and Joyce (Art) Ackler.

Step siblings and spouses Charlotte (Randall) Brumelle and Bernard (Olive) Taylor.

There are no calling hours. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date, burial in Forest Hill Cemetery in Attica.

Dale was born on November 13, 1944 to parents Ogden & Mildred (Swingle) Duffy. Dale was born and raised in West Bloomfield, NY and after school he served his country in the US Air Force. Dale was a truck driver and worked at the former Beverage Transport in Bloomfield, NY. Dale loved animals and especially loved his dog Buddy. Dale married Jane in 1986 and were married for over 28 years. They both enjoyed country music, dancing, and good times together.

Livonia: On November 18, 2014, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family and close friends. Predeceased by her husband Joseph Yantachka Jr., her parents, Dolores and Gerard Weinhart and her sister Patricia DePerna. Linda is survived by daughter Lisa (Patrick “PJ”) McMahon, son Joseph III (Sarah) Yantachka, and daughter Cyndi (Fred) Moolekamp. Grandchildren Aubree and Keslee Yantachka and Sophia Moolekamp, brother Thomas Weinhart and sister Barbara (Weinhart) Terry. Linda devoted her entire life to making her children and grandchildren’s lives more fun on every holiday and every day in between. Her energy was poured into building the Partyman Catering with her son and family. No one could keep up with her pace and the world will never be as clean, well fed or organized in her absence especially at Camp Stella Maris.

Bath: Emma J. Seager formerly of Savona, NY passed away on November 16, 2104 at age 96 years at the Taylor Health Facility surrounded by her loving family. Emma was born in Mercedes, TX on November 9, 1918 to parents Levi & Felipa (Garcia) VanCise. She married Leon R. Seager in 1936 and he predeceased her in 1993. She was retired from Westinghouse in Bath, NY. She was a member of the Wednesday “Sewing” Circle for many years. Emma was a long time member of the Church of the Good Shepard in Savona, NY. She is survived by her children; Jerry Seager of Mocksville, NC, and Phyllis (Stuart) Davidson of Easton, PA. Sisters; Lillian Myers, Annie Westrup, Josephine VanCise, and Nancy VanCise, all of Texas. 8 grandchildren; Roxanne (Randy) McDaniel, LuAnne (Larry) Brooks, Colleen (Brian) Pitts, all of Mocksville, NC, Tammy (Terry) Harding of Bethlehem, PA, Terri (Craig) Gillow of Bethlehem, PA, Craig (Cheryl) Davidson of Nazareth, PA, BethAn (Chris) Parulski-Seager of Bath, and Jennifer Walters also of Bath. 17 Great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. Mother: Different from any other. Who was loved by everyone, full of life, Joy, and her life was one you wanted to be a part of, everyone she gave from the heart.

Betty was born on September 6, 1943 in Hornell NY. She went to school in Greenwood NY. She earned her certificate in cosmetology. She lived in Perry, NY with her family and then moved to Tucson, AZ. She eventually moved back to Perry and made her home. Betty had a deep love for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her brothers and sisters, and communicated with them every day. She loved to dance, go out to eat, going to the ocean and seeing the beach. Above all she had a love for her God Jehovah. Through her knowledge of her God and the scriptures, Betty believed in a resurrection, and that she will live forever on a paradise earth. Betty dedicated her life to her God Jehovah which impelled her to share her future hope with anyone who would listen and up into her death was a member of the Mt.Morris congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Until the paradise we will miss you – Mom, grandmother, sister, aunt.

Pearl was born on June 25, 1926 in Springwater, NY to parents Dexter and Alice (Pragle) Grouse. She worked at the Kodak Hawkeye Plant during WWII where she helped build the Norden Bomb Sites which were used in the bombing missions over Germany. She worked at the soda fountain at the former Darling’s Department Store in Honeoye, she partnered with her husband to build the Mobil gas station in Honeoye, she co-owned “R-Jeans” with her daughter-in-law Pat, and also worked at the cafeteria at FF Thompson Hospital. Pearl also worked at Crossman Arms in Bloomfield for several years. Pearl was a life-long member of the Eastern Star Chapter 350 in Honeoye, NY. Pearl adored her children and grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 22nd, at 2pm at the Honeoye United Church of Christ, 8758 Main Street, Honeoye. A reception will follow at the church. Pat is predeceased by her parents and siblings, Joanne Parker and Jack Boyd. She was a lifetime resident of Honeoye and a retiree of Ledco in Hemlock, NY.

Castle Hayne, NC/Conesus Lake: Andrew Clements Long, age 27, of Castle Hayne, North Carolina, formerly of Conesus Lake, New York, died unexpectedly of cardiac arrest on Monday, November 3, 2014 in Wilmington, North Carolina. He was born the son of Andrew and Victoria (Clapp) on May 30, 1987 in Rochester, NY. He graduated from Colgate University in Hamilton, NY in 2009 with a BA in Chemistry and a Minor in Applied Mathematics. He married Katharine Clare Van Cleve on September 23, 2011. He was employed as a chemist at Quality Chemical Laboratories in Wilmington, North Carolina.

He is survived by his loving wife Katie, his parents Andy and Vicki Long of Conesus Lake, brother David Long of Albany, NY. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother Joanne Keller Long, uncles Lawrence (Mary) Long of California, Francis (Mare) Long of Colorado and Harold (Laurie) and David Clapp (Linda) of Minnesota. He is also survived by his aunts Laurie Marcum (Bill) of Colorado and Ellie Clapp (Jon Pincus) of Rochester, NY, Louise Connell (Terry), Lynn Layton (Chuck) of Florida. Andrew is survived by several cousins whom he adored. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Eleanor Little Clapp and Charles Gillman Clapp, and his much adored paternal grandfather H. David Long.

Andrew is also survived by Katie’s loving parents, Martha and Paul Van Cleve of Lumberton, NJ, and Katie’s siblings Sarah, Michael, Laila and David Skarbowski.

Andrew’s life with Katie was filled with love, fun and lots of adventures. He enjoyed traveling with family and friends. He enjoyed sailing, skiing, sledding, snowboarding, scuba diving, water skiing and sight seeing. Andrew also enjoyed camping with Katie, dog Pepper and friends on the beach in Wilmington. Andrew especially enjoyed spending time with his brother and discussing chemistry together. He loved sports, including the Florida Marlins, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Philadelphia Eagles, watching the World Series, playing video games, and watching movies with his wife. He loved learning, and had an amazing knowledge of all sorts of trivia.

Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 4 pm at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel St. (Route 408), Mt. Morris, NY. A funeral mass will be held Monday at St. Patricks Church at 10am. Interment will be at the Union Cemetery in Scottsburg.
