Scott A. Brent – October 31, 2017

Livonia:   Unexpectedly on October 31, 2017 at age 58 years.  Survived by his wife of 38 years Joan (Roberts) Brent of Livonia and children; Michael (Donna) Brent of Wayland and Jenna (Zachary) Beason of KS; grandchildren, Xaiden & Axel Brent and Jackson & Leah Beason; and his mother Carole Brent Williams of Livonia.  Also survived by his godson August, cousins, and many dear friends.

Scott was born on June 16, 1959 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and married his high school sweetheart, Joan Roberts Brent, on June 16, 1979.  Scott served his country in the US Air Force from 1979-1987.  He was a loving husband, father, grampy, son, and friend.  He always said if he could make someone smile it was a good day.  He loved the Lord and was a member at the United Methodist Church of Livonia.

Clifford B. Allison ~ October 29, 2017

Conesus: October 29, 2017, at age 87 years. Predeceased by his loving wife, Mary Miller Allison. The youngest of 23 siblings, survived by his children, Clifford (Cathy) Allison of Lakeville, Larry (Sabrena) Allison of Kansas City, MO., Cary Allison of Rochester, David (Bonnie) Allison of Greece,NY., Lori (David) Hill of Rochester.6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. Sister-in-law, Eula Greene of Grandpion, Pa. Several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

 

Cliff was a resident of the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilation from 2010-2017. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army and the U. S. Navy . He was a gunner on a quad 40  and on the maiden voyage of the USS Coral Sea.

Cliff worked for Eastman Kodak Co. for more than 30 years. After retirement, Cliff drove for  Kemps Bus Service , driving children with special needs to and from school. Cliff loved to smile, laugh and joke around. He also loved old black & white films and loved his family with all his heart. He also was a longtime coach in the southside little league and a dedicated boy scout leader.

Kolleen N. Wixted – October 23, 2017

Honeoye/Livonia :  Kolleen passed away on October 23, 2017, at age 42, after many years of a rare brain disease.  She was a patient at Monroe Community Hospital for several years.  She is survived by her parents Rod and Karyl Wixted, sister Maura (Glenn) White, her precious nieces Hannah & Molly.  She also leaves behind two aunts;  Rhoma (Guy) Smith and Sally (David) Smith, great aunts, cousins, and dear friends.

Kolleen was born on April 4, 1975 in Canandaigua, NY to parents Rodney and Karyl (Johnston) Wixted.  She graduated from Honeoye Central School, played on the soccer and softball teams, and also played saxophone in the jazz band.  Kolleen’s love of music brought her joy and happiness through her entire life, especially the music events at Monroe Community Hospital.

Margaret H. Bradley (Fiorito) – October 21, 2017

Livonia:  October 21, 2017 at age 91 years.  Predeceased by her husband Gerald D. “Jerry” Bradley, and siblings; Leonard Fiorito, Mary Feary, and Kay Amidon.  Survived by children;  Debbie Bradley of Livonia, Jay (Ginny) Bradley of AZ, Sandy (Jeff) Bush of Silver Springs, Kathy Lee of NJ, and Pam Conroy of Dansville.  Grandchildren; Megan, Erika, and Jaymes Bradley, Wyatt, Kate, and Chris Bush, Shauna (Jim) Liu, Michael (Joyce) Conroy, Jennifer (Kip) Manley-Lee, Andy (Heather) Lee; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.

Margaret was born on June 22, 1926 in LeRoy, NY to parents Isadore and Anna Marie Fiorito.  She graduated from LeRoy High School in 1944.  She married Jerry Bradley on January 13, 1951 and were married for 40 years.  Marg and Jerry raised their family in East Irondequoit and later moved to West Sparta where they built their home.  She enjoyed knitting, quilting, and loved to read.

Deborah R. Smith (Gorton) – October 21, 2017

Debbie was a loving and devoted mother, sister, aunt and friend and her grandchildren were her passion and delight. She was always active and enjoyed time with her partner who exposed her to new and exciting adventures. Filled with compassion and interest for others, Debbie made friends easily and opened her arms to everyone she sensed needed it. She loved to host and entertain and enjoyed crafts, line-dancing, interior decorating, family gatherings and spoiling her grand kids. Debbie was quick with a smile and young at heart. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Robert D. Gendreau Sr. ~ October 19, 2017

Honeoye:  October 19, 2017 at age 74 years.  Predeceased by his wife Sandra (Cratsley) Gendreau in 2015.  He is survived by his sons, James (Lori) Cratsley of Canadice, Robert (Susan Kessler) Gendreau Jr. of Irondequoit, Joseph (Patricia) Gendreau of McHenry, MS and Daniel (Dena Scantlin) Gendreau of Webster.  8 grandchildren.  3 great grandchildren.  Siblings Sandra (Dan) Cook of Charlottesville, VA, Louise Boyd of Honeoye and Thomas Gendreau of Honeoye.  Several nieces and nephews.

 

As the “Commander of The Sons of The American Legion”, Bob was one of the greatest American Patriots of our time. His spirit soared from the moment he could fly, to the instant he lit the fuse and to the second he could pull the trigger. From airplanes, to dragsters, scuba diving to a skeet shooting Easter Bunny, he did it all.  He loved it all and taught it all back to the ones he loved.  As a longtime resident of Honeoye Lake, he was very helpful to his friends and families of the community, and will greatly be missed by all.

Gary A. Kingsley – October 17, 2017

Hemlock:  Peacefully at home on October 17, 2017 at age 76 years.  Survived by his wife 51 years Donna Kingsley and son Daryl Kingsley of Penfield.

Gary was born on February 3, 1941 in Norfolk, NY to parents Floyd and Maude (Oakes) Kingsley.  Gary graduated from Norwood High School in 1959.  He served his country in the US Army from 1959-1965 and later went to work for Rochester Telephone Co., from which he retired.  He married Donna in 1966 in Buffalo, NY.  Gary and Donna moved to Old Bald Hill Road North in 1973 and later he built his own home.  It was one of the first log homes in the area.  He was known for rescuing hummingbirds and feeding squirrels on their bungee cords.

Carolyn Emery Allen – October 14, 2017

Lakeville:  Carolyn Emery Allen, age 97, of Lakeville, passed away October 14th in San Antonio, Texas, where she spent much of her recent years to be near to children and grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Floyd Allen, brother Robert Emery and sister Kathryn Ramsey.

She is survived by her children, Thomas, Lisa, and Laurie Allen, all of San Antonio, Texas; Earl (Inge) Allen of Cornville, Arizona, Faye Reamore of Leroy, and her exchange student daughter Martha (Alberto) Leal de Guizar of Mexico City, Mexico; sister Ruth Sidorowicz of Las Vegas, Nevada, and brothers Richard (Roma) Emery of Morrisville, North Carolina  and James (Sandi) Emery of Summerville, South Carolina; 8 grandchildren, Novella, Nol, Christofer, Travis, Joel, Tim, Kelly, and Kurt; over 20 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Rochester, New York July 22, 1920, Carolyn was valedictorian of the Livonia High School class of 1937, attended the Mildred Elley Business School in Albany, and worked for the Webster’s Crossing and Lakeville milk processing plants, Stone Construction, the Philip J. Sweeney Insurance Agency, and retired from civil service at the State University at Geneseo.  She married and raised 5 children, was the eldest member of her beloved Lakeville United Church of Christ, and traveled extensively in her retirement.

Calling hours will be from 4pm to 7pm Friday, October 27th at the Kevin W. Donald R. Bennett – October 10, 2017

Honeoye:  Peacefully at home on October 10, 2017 at age 73 years.  Predeceased by siblings; Frederick Bennett Jr., Constance Baldwin, Charlotte Rowell, and best friend Peter Rawson.  Survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda (Baker) Bennett of Honeoye and sons; Frederick (Becky) Bennett of FL and Keith Bennett of PA.  Also survived by grandchildren; Amethyst, Rayzel, Ian, Gerik, Hannah, and Drew; close friends Dan DeRosa and Steve Rosenberger, and many nieces & nephews.

Don Bennett, age 73 & 30 year resident on Honeoye Lake, succombed after 6 years of fighting cancer.  He was dedicated to his family, friends, church, he was a worldly traveler, an avid fisherman and contributor to the community.  He was known by all for his boisterous laughter and larger than life personality!  He is missed already!

Samuel Parry DeMay – October 9, 2017

 

Geneseo/Rochester:  Formerly of Howard, NY, a resident of Lake Demmon for many years.  Sam was born on 11/3/1923 and passed peacefully on 10/9/2017 at age 93.  Predeceased by his parents Clarence & Ruth DeMay, his sister Joy Kyper, and his son-in-law Gerry Giehl.  Survived by his wife of 43 years Marge (Neener) DeMay and his children;  Elizabeth Wemple and Gary DeMay; step-children, Patrick (MaryEllen) Quinlan, Daniel Quinlan, Barbara Giehl, John (Kathy) Quinlan, Michael (Linda) Quinlan and Terence (Gina) Quinlan.  25 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.

Sam was the past owner of the 3rd generation Samuel R. Parry Machine Company of Rochester, NY until his retirement in 1993.  He was a long time member of the Rochester Ad Club, the National Paper Box Association, and the Avon American Legion.  Sam proudly served in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean War.

Dorothy A. Dewey “Dot” – October 3, 2017

Dansville:  Dorothy “Dot” Dewey, age 91 years, passed peacefully on October 3, 2017 at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home, Livonia, NY.

Dot was predeceased by her husband Philip L. Dewey and her sister-in-law Beverly “Sharon” Shaver.  She is survived by her siblings; Norma Jesmer, Robert Shaver, and William Shaver all of Dansville and many nieces & nephews.

Dorothy was born on November 17, 1925 in Dansville, NY to parents Clare and Alice (Hughes) Shaver.  She attended Dansville High School and later attended Alfred State College where she met Philip Dewey, who she later married.  Dot worked for the IRS and later worked for US Customs and Border Protection in Buffalo, NY, from which she retired.  While she was there her husband Phil worked on the railroad in Buffalo, first the Erie Railroad and then the Erie – Lackawanna Railroad.  After they both retired they moved to the warm weather in Stewart, Florida for many years.  After Phil passed Dot returned to Dansville to be around family.  She loved her family dearly, especially her husband Phil.

Rodney Jon Barber – October 2, 2017

Dansville/Livonia:  Rodney Jon Barber of Dansville, NY passed away at his home at the age of 52 on October 2, 2017.

Rodney was predeceased by his father David Alonzo Barber and his brother Roger David Barber. He is survived by his loving wife Tammy Marie (Beisheim) Barber; mother Betty Lou (Richardson) Barber currently of Indiana, formerly of Livonia and Conesus; sister LuAnn Barber Rogers (Paul) of Port Hadlock, WA; brother Robert Barber (Carolee) of Indiana; mother-in-Law Diana (Shumway) Beisheim of Honeoye; brother-in law Timothy (Stephanie) of Farmington; sister-in-law Terri Vassallo (Louis) of Bloomfield, and several nieces nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Rodney was born June 2, 1965 in Warsaw, NY. He was a lifelong resident of Livingston County and graduate of Livonia Central High School active in wrestling and Scouts in his youth. He worked as a commercial and residential mason for many years leaving his mark on many buildings in western New York. He also spent time in South Carolina, as well as, San Francisco where he worked for the California Conservation Corps.

After 15 years together Rodney married the love of his life on August 13, 2005. Rodney was a sensitive soul with a big heart.  All those he came in contact with will surely miss him.

Charles E. Kennerson Jr. “Chuck” – October 1, 2017

Honeoye:  Chuck passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on Sunday October 1 surrounded by his family.  Chuck is survived by the love of his life and wife of 52 years Barbara, his children Debbi, Shawn and Amy, Debbi’s children Alexander and Jackson, Shawn’s wife Valerie and their children Emily and Benjamin, and Amy’s husband Larry Krajewski and their children Andrej, Maxwell and Curtis.

Chuck touched the lives of countless young people through his chosen profession as well as his passion for sports.  Chuck taught Elementary school in Rochester NY for 30 years.  He was a dedicated teacher who always spent extra time with students and their families.

In Honeoye, Chuck was a dedicated coach.  Over the years, he coached Little League Baseball; Boys and Girls Junior High Basketball; Women’s, Girl’s, JV, and Varsity Softball. In addition, he assisted with Middle School and Varsity Girls Soccer.

In retirement Chuck enjoyed traveling with his wife and continued his love of sports.  He was an avid Rochester Flash and Rhino fan, he traveled both locally and throughout the country visiting his grandchildren, enjoying dance and music performances, following NCAA and US Women’s soccer and attending antique postcard shows.

The family will have calling hours on Saturday October 7th from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 8624 Main Street, Rte 20A, Honeoye, NY.  The Celebration of his life will be held at the United Church of Christ, 8758 Main Street, Honeoye, on Sunday October 8th at 3pm with a reception in the fellowship hall of the church at the end of the service.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Chuck Kennerson Memorial Scholarship Fund, C/O Barb Overfield, Honeoye Central School, P.O.
