Jean M. Benson (Brown) – December 22, 2024

Livonia: At age 97, Jean passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, December 22, 2024. She was born on May 14, 1927, to the late Vivian Brown and Mable (Robert Waide Sr.) Waide, was predeceased by her husband, William J. Benson Sr., and son, Brian E. Benson. Jean is survived by her children, Gloria M. (Steve) Struble, Kathleen A. (Chris) Cook, and, William J. Jr. (Brenda) Benson. 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Jean was a telephone operator for 42 years with the Rochester Telephone Company.

  3. I am so sorry to hear this!! I always looked forward to her visits at the assessors office each year!! We would visit for at least an hour. A lady I respected and loved our hugs!! She always brought me a goodie!! God bless her and her family!! Until we meet again!!

  4. I am so sorry for the family’s loss. Jean was one of my favorites! Always smiled and kind hearted, we would talk forever it seemed about anything! I’m blessed to have known this wonderful lady for 30 years! Prayers and thoughts are with her family.

  5. Jean and my mom Joyce Carpenter used to work together at the telephone office. When they transferred to Rochester. They would ride together. Jean was a lovely lady. Sending prayers to her family

  7. I met Jean and Bill over 50 years ago and have always admiired their love and commitment to each other. A true example of love, commitment and patience (mostly her’s). I am so sorry for your loss. Jean was always so very kind, warm and loving. God Bless.

  10. I am very sorry to learn this, but she had a long happy life. My parents, Gene and Ruth Baker, loved Jean and Bill and I remember Jean bringing dishes when my Dad died. I know the family have many years of happy memories.
