Honeoye:  With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Emma Creighton, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. At age 82, Emma passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024, at her home in Honeoye, NY.  She was born on August 28, 1942, to the late Johann and Theresia Fritz.  Emma is also predeceased by her brothers, Gustave and Rudolph Fritz.  Survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, James P. Creighton, her daughters, Heidi Desmond, Christine (Craig) Gage, Lorraine (Terry) McNicholas, her grandchildren Kayla (Chuck) Tarey, Kelly (Charlie) Spears, Ashley McNicholas, Ashton (Madison) McNicholas, Jacob Gage, Dylan Gage, Shaelynn Gage, Ayden McNicholas, and her great-grandchildren, Rachel Tarey, Quinn Tarey, along with several friends.

Emma was the most selfless and caring person we knew, always putting others before her own needs. She loved her family fiercely and was the glue that held us together, cherishing every moment spent during family holidays and traditions. Emma faced many hardships and health issues throughout her life, yet she persevered with remarkable strength, always wearing a smile on her face. She had an incredible ability to make the best out of every situation, inspiring those around her with her unconditional love.

Emma had a special passion for flowers and delighted in cooking for her loved ones, often filling our homes with delicious aromas. Her radiant smile had a unique way of brightening any room, and she loved to create little jingles that brought joy to those around her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love and warmth she brought into our lives.

Honeoye: Age 94, Don passed away on October 10, 2024, at Highland Hospital in Rochester. He was born on February 3, 1930. Predeceased by his parents Clive and Ida (Deigner) Milligan, his wife Eleanor Milligan, five brothers, and three sisters. Manchester: Age 57, Pam passed away on October 10, 2024, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was born on January 28, 1967. Predeceased by her grandmother, Alice (Fisher) Lincoln. She is survived by her husband, Ashley “Lee” Vanskiver of Manchester, daughters, Emilee Aaron (Devin Tylenda) of Wolcott, Sarah Beck (Kaine Lord) of Canandaigua, parents, Lou and Jeanette (Lincoln) Aaron, sister, Beth (Michael) Morath, and Louis (Joylette) Aaron—grandchildren, Daniel, Elorah, Maddy, Logan, and “future” grandson Hudson.

Pam didn’t believe in selfish advances such as money, possessions, fame, or reputation. She endlessly believed in selfless acts of kindness. Her aura shined with brilliance and positively influenced everybody around her. Every connection she made throughout her life was profound and significant in its own way. Her reach spread far beyond what you could imagine.

Pam’s occupations reflected who she was as a person. Whether it was her 16 years at Ontario ARC, her 14 years at The Villager Restaurant, or her time at FLACRA she helped and served the community in more ways than one. Camping, crocheting, and cake decorating were amongst her favorite things to do, but above all spending time with her family and grandkids meant the most to her. She will forever be missed and never forgotten.

Geneseo/Livonia:  Garry was born on January 13, 1929 in Midland Park, NJ to the late Cornelius and Anna (Drenth) Van De Weert and passed peacefully, at age 95, on October 10, 2024 at Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, NY.   In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife Eleanor Van De Weert and siblings; Pete, Emma, Minnie, Ella, Cornelius, Albert, Martin, John, Herm, and Barney.  Survived by his children; Elaine (Jack) Malda of Cato, Garry (Joan) Van De Weert of Goshen, Cheryl (Peter) Schwarz of Newburgh, Sandra (Edward) Dykshoorn of Odessa, Roy (Henrietta) Van De Weert of Goshen, Darlene (Douglas) De Vries of MI, James (Rosemary) Van De Weert, and David Van De Weert both of Geneseo; 25 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; also survived by many nieces and nephews, his church family at both the East Palmyra Christian Reformed Church and the Goshen Christian Reformed Church & many friends.

Garry was a hard-working person for all his life.  He farmed and was a bus driver for the Goshen Central School District for 25 years and was a Deputy Sheriff – Sergeant for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office for 13 years.  In 1988 Garry and his wife Eleanor made the move from Goshen to Geneseo, NY.  They purchased the Pease Farm on Lima Road and continued his love of farming.  Between his farming in Goshen and his time on their family farm in Geneseo, he farmed for over 70 years.  Even while farming here he worked part time driving bus for the ARC for over 12 years. 

Garry’s favorite tractor that he started farming with was a 1948 Farmall C, that his son still has in Goshen.  His presence and wisdom will be missed by all.

Chili, NY – Dior River Phinney, beloved son, brother, and grandchild, was born on December 8, 2022, in Casa Grande, Arizona, and passed away tragically on October 6, 2024, in Rochester, NY, at the tender age of 22 months.

Dior brought boundless joy and love to everyone around him during his brief but precious time on earth. His bright smile and sweet spirit touched the hearts of all who knew him. Dior is survived by his loving parents, Rose Barone Phinney and Spencer Phinney; his cherished sisters, Scarlett and Autumn Phinney; maternal grandparents, Lisa Sachs (Erik Baumgartner) and Anthony Barone; paternal grandparents, Tammy Herrera and Todd Phinney; and great-grandparents, James and Sue Sachs. Lakeville:  At age 59, Roxanne passed on October 5, 2024 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY.  She was born on August 18, 1965 in Utica, NY.  Survived by her husband Arthur S. Draper; mother, Margaret Stade of Geneseo; daughter, Amber Sanders (William Pritchard) of Lakeville and son John Mitchell III of Wayland; grandchildren, Collin Sanders, Brooklyn Sanders, and Hunter Mitchell; siblings, Edward Stade, Renee Minges, and Anita Schnautigel; also survived by close friend and second mother, Claire Swift, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Lima: At age 9, Spencer passed away on October 2, 2024, at home with his family by his side. He was born on July 28, 2015. Lima: At age 97, Paul passed away on September 26, 2024, at home with his family by his side. He was born on December 3, 1926, to the late Leo and Lucille Weter. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Mary (Schillroth) Collins, sister Lucille Collins, and brother and sister-in-law, Bud (Gert) Collins. He is survived by his children, Paul (Leslie) Collins, Mark (Kathy) Collins, Marybeth (Nancy) Collins, Gregory (Joanna) Collins, sister Ann Collins, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Paul lived a long, productive life and was selfless to his very last days. After serving in the Army Air Corps in WWII, he obtained his private pilot license, married, and spent the remainder of his life in service to his wife, family, and community. He was a passionate landscaper, and expert handyman, and when not busy assisting his children with home renovation or landscape projects, he enjoyed golf, traveling, and volunteering for various community organizations. Paul was the person you could always count on. He was a role model for all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

Conesus Lake:  At age 70, Linda passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY. She was born on December 28, 1953, to the late John and Jane Resch.  Linda is predeceased by her brother David Resch.  Survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Theodore E. Rauber, her daughter, Rhonda (James) Battifarano, her son, Kevin (Christina) Rauber, and her grandchildren, James, Luke, Olivia, Mya, and Ava.

Linda spent a majority of her life within the Spencerport community. She started in the insurance industry in the mid 1980’s, and went on to purchase the business in 2000, where she thrived. In 2016, after retiring, Linda and her beloved husband, Ted, moved to their dream home on Conesus Lake. Although retired, she worked for her friends at the Beachcomber, and really enjoyed her time there. Being at the lake was her happy place, where she had an amazing & loving group of friends. She especially loved it when her children & grandchildren came to visit.

Conesus Lake/Geneseo:  Deborah, 66, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2024.  Debbie grew up on Conesus Lake and graduated from Livonia High School, where she played varsity volleyball and softball.  She enlisted in the NAVY, spending much of her time at the Naval Air Stations in Oceana, Virginia and Mayport, Florida, as well as Rota, Spain and Sigonella, Italy.  After retiring from the NAVY as an Aviation Structural Mechanic Chief Petty Officer, she moved back to the Geneseo area.

Debbie was predeceased by her parents, Barbara and David Stewart, sisters Barbara Jane “BJ” Wright and Sharon Stewart, and sister-in-law Debra Kurtz Stewart.  She is survived by her siblings David (Barbara) Stewart Jr. of Conesus, New York, Bonita (Walt) Breitigam of South Carolina, and James Stewart of North Carolina, along with eight nieces and nephews.

Honeoye: Gwen passed away, at the age of 73. She was predeceased by her parents William and Audrey Fisher. Survived by her husband Robert Stark, sister Gail (Andrew) Clemens, brother William Fisher, sister-in-law Linda Lewis, nephews Christopher and Joe Clemens, Jeffrey and Michael (Marina) Stark, and niece Alexa Fisher.  

Gwen and Bob loved to travel around the country in their motor home after she retired, with their beloved dog Sandy, who passed away last year. She and Bob filled the void with the passing of Sandy, adopting Brody, which she adored.

She was a huge fan of the Buffalo Bills, always looking forward to watching them play each week.

Gwen retired from Strong Hospital, as a secretary in the lab, working her way up, starting in the mailroom of the hospital. She made many friends while working in the lab, many of those were medical students from Taiwan who even to this day would stay in touch with her.

Rochester: Dianne passed away at her home surrounded by her family, at the age of 87. She is predeceased by her parents, Frank and Catherine Marmas, husband Raymond VanDeusen, daughters Melissa Revilla, Judith Gillis, Cathleen DeRoller, brother James Marmas, son-in-law Bryan DeRoller. Survived by her daughters, Sharon VanDeusen, and Susan (Ken) Goodman, son Timothy VanDeusen (Marci), and son-in-law, Steven Gillis. ( 14 ) grandchildren, (20) great-grandchildren, and her beloved grand puppies Samson and Bella.  

Dianne lived a very full and exciting life, from pony racing to being Mother Nature to hundreds of Cub Scout campers.  She worked in home hospice for Visiting Nurse Service, a job she truly loved.

She was adored by not only her own children and grandchildren but the friends they brought around her, she was truly everyone’s mother. Dianne loved the beaches of the Outer Banks and the wild horses that inhabit them, she was even a sponsor for one of the wild mustangs that roam Carova Beach.

Canandaigua: Jeff passed away at his home, at the age of 64. He was predeceased by his parents Donald and Shirley McManus, and brother Mark McManus. Survived by his sisters, Sandra (Fred) Salvagni, and Nora (Doug) Sawyer, nephews Chad Wood, Doug Sawyer, nieces, Chantel Kemble and Angelica Sawyer.

Jeff had a big heart and would help anyone in need. He worked at Finger Lakes Community College for 38 years and truly loved his job as a janitor. During his time there, he made many friends, especially those who worked in the library, which he cleaned.

Jeff was a fan of all kinds of music and would attend as many concerts as he could at CMAC, which was within walking distance of his home.

Livonia/Geneseo:  At age 94, Shirley passed on September 16, 2024 at Morgan Estates Assisted Living in Geneseo, NY with her family by her side.  She was born on January 27, 1930 in Livonia, NY to the late Kenneth and Mildred (Sharpe) Banker.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Glenn Wingate and her brother Donald Banker.  Survived by children; Timothy (Kim) Wingate of Scottsdale, AZ, Lorrie (Bruce) Carlson of Jamestown, and Amy (Scott) Freese of Geneseo; grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Sobolewski, Anna (Brian) Cauley, Kate (Eric) Leipold, Peter (Kimberly) Nordland, Brett (Marlee) Freese, and Casey (Andrew) Beichner; great-grandchildren, Leah, Kaylee, Ryanne, Brendan, Clark, Landon, Lainey, and Olivia; also survived by her brother James Banker, sister Beverly Wemett, and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley graduated from Livonia HS in 1947. After graduation, she went on to Beauty School in Rochester. It was at this time that an old high school friend, Glenn Wingate, would drive her back to Rochester on the weekends. Soon after her graduation, she married Glenn September 17, 1949.

Shirley first had a beauty shop in Geneseo and later in her home in Livonia where they raised their 3 children, Timothy, Lorrie and Amy.

Shirley was very active in her church. She taught Sunday School for many years, worked on their annual Christmas bazaars and prepared  meals for the Rotarians. Later in life, Shirley became an accomplished artist where her specialty was painting on leaves.  She graced many family and friends with these special paintings.

In 1972, Shirley and Glenn moved up the road to the Wingate Homestead. This is where their 6 grandchildren shared many fond memories of farm life.

Shortly after Glenn’s death, Shirley moved into Morgan Estates Assisted Living where she lived for over 10 years. She enjoyed every activity, but her favorite was nickel bingo. We can not thank the staff from this special facility enough for their wonderful care during this time.
