Beverly “Bev” A. Hughes ~ October 29, 2020

Livonia: At age 82, Bev passed away on her 65th Wedding Anniversary on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was born in Middletown, NY to the late Walter and Gertrude Nichols. Bev was predeceased by her beloved husband; Richard Hughes, her siblings; Butch, Donna, Danny, Deborah, Tootie and her granddaughter; Caylyn Duffy. Survived by her children; Christine Hughes, Cindee (Michael) Duryea, Colleen (Michael) Ross, Richard (Cindy) Hughes, Cheri (Dane) Duffy, Candace (Jeff) Swan, her 20 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.

Bev was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She loved spending time with her family.  She cherished them.  She was a proud bus driver for over 20 years at Livonia Central School and Avon Central School.  She loved crocheting, gardening, baking and many of the simple things in life.  Bev helped her daughter every summer at her farm’s vegetable stand and really enjoyed it.  She had a real love for the Adirondack Mountains.  She took her family and herself to the same camp ground for over 50 years.  Many of her children and grandchildren carry on this legacy still.  She was a strong woman in so many ways, cracking jokes until the end.

A funeral service will be held privately and interment will take place at Union Cemetery on Big Tree Road in Livonia. Thomas “Tom” C. Poore ~ October 29, 2020

Honeoye:  At age 78, Tom passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at the FF Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, NY.  He was born in Rochester, NY to the late Robert and Veronica Poore.  Survived by his beloved wife of 59 years: Ruth Poore, his children: Tim Poore and his wife Sibel, Terri Wagaman, Mitch Wagaman (son-in-law), Jody Poore, Matthew Poore and his wife Aarti, his sister: Pat Harris and his grandchildren: Natalie Senter and her husband Josh, Bailey Wagaman, Chloe Poore, Lila Poore, and Isabella Poore.

Tom was a devoted husband, dad, and papa, and cherished by many; he truly loved and took pride in his family. He was happiest at his Keuka lake house; boating, fishing, and taking his grandkids tubing. He loved watching his kids and grandkids play sports.  He was their biggest fan and supporter, never missing a game. When he wasn’t in the stands at his kid’s/grandkid’s games, he was rooting for his beloved Buffalo Bills. You would find him every Sunday with his Bills gear on from head to toe.

Thomas R. Preston – October 28, 2020

Livonia/Avon:  At age 77, Tom passed on October 28, 2020 in Rochester, NY.  He was born on September 9, 1943 in Rochester to the late Harold and Ruth (Purdy) Preston.  Survived by his wife, Ann (Maynard) Preston and children; Rachel Preston, Joel (Iris) Preston, Lisa Jones, and “Mamabear” Lori Buchanon; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; his sister Patricia (David) Smith, extended family and friends including Butch and Kathy Cisco.

Tom lived in Avon, NY for many years and worked in the flooring business.  He was a self employed flooring installer and worked for many different contractors throughout the years.

Felicia M. Thew (Morreale) – October 28, 2020

Avon/Fairport:  At age 77, Felicia passed away on October 28, 2020 at Crest Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center in Fairport, NY.  She was born on March 6, 1943 in Rochester, NY to the late Michael and Lillian (Bellomo) Morreale.  Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother Dr. Charles Morreale and brother-in-law Anthony Gallis.  Survived by husband Ronald Thew, sister Josephine Gallis, sister-in-law Barbara Morreale, special friends Jean Cray and Marcia Pickering, and several nieces & nephews.

Felicia graduated from East High School and later earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree from the State University at Buffalo.  This led her into a career as a child protective caseworker with the Monroe County Department of Social Services.  After retiring from the Monroe County Department of Social Services, Felicia worked part time as a social worker in the emergency department at Strong Memorial Hospital.  Felicia loved dogs and had many German short hair dogs during her lifetime.

Debra E. Czudak – October 25, 2020

Livonia:  Debra E. Czudak, age 54, after bravely battling cancer the past 6 years, passed away peacefully at her home with family by her side on October 25, 2020.

Born on August 14, 1966 to her parents James and Barbara McKeown, who she joins in heaven. Survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Bob and beloved children Adam, Lauren and Erin.

Also survived by her siblings, Theresa (Barry) Hooper, Marlene (Sean) Hanna, Kathleen (John) McManus, and Mike (JoAnn) McKeown; in-laws Robert and Constance Czudak and brother in-law John (Debbie) Czudak; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Deb enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, boating, reading and an occasional glass of wine; going to movies, concerts and musicals; watching her kids perform on the soccer field and on the stage in musicals and dance recitals; and attending Syracuse University basketball and football games. She loved being a Soccer Mom, Dance Mom, ‘Cuse Mom and Dog Mom to Ellie and Rosie.

Young, grandsons Jeremiah Young and Patrick Malone, siblings; Joan Yawman, Ronald Yawman, Judy Lawrence, Joseph Yawman, and Martha Moore.  Survived by her children; Cindy Young of Henrietta, David Young of Livonia, Timothy (Annie) Young of Conesus, Victoria (Bill) Farley of Prattsburg, Kenneth Young of Queens, NY, and Nicole (Al) Torreze (Emancipated) of Pinebrook, FL; 12 grandchildren, Sean, Jason, Howard, Lisa, Patrick, Jennifer, Ethan, Evan, Joshua, Justin, Chad, and Chelsea; 14 great-grandchildren, Kole, Kyle, Kevin, Chandos, Heather, Kaitlin, Kyra, Nick, Hunter, Makayla, Jada, Kylie, Brianna, and Natalie; several great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Teresa Carol Rose Young lived her life always giving her all to her family, always putting others needs above her own.  There wasn’t a holiday that she wouldn’t make everyone feel special and loved.  There was never a day that the door to her home wasn’t open to someone in need of a hot meal, or a warm place to stay.  Teresa’s kindness and spirit will live on in her children, and all of those who loved her.

Robert James Horan Jr. “Bob” – October 19, 2020

Geneseo/Livonia: At age 77, Bob passed on October 19, 2020 at his home in Geneseo, NY. He was born on January 3, 1943 in Ilion, NY to the late Robert Sr. and Ruth (Winckel) Horan. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his nephew Marshall “Guy” Hardy and niece Shelly Lauritzen. Survived by his wife of 55 years Anne “Beth” Bauer) Horan and children; David (Kristin) Horan of Lakeville, Jill (Stan) Spencer of Oregon, Penelope Horan-Imburgia of Irondequoit, and Andrew (Autumn) Horan of Michigan; grandchildren, Ryan Horan, Daniel Horan, Hannah (Tim) Stone, Emma Spencer, Ethan Spencer, Isabella Imburgia, Gioachino Imburgia, and Lucy Horan; brother Dave (Ann) Horan of Baldwinsville, sisters Sue Dominici of Utah, and Joan Hardy of Utah. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Bob attended Hamilton College in Clinton, NY where he received his bachelor’s degree and later attended and graduated from Syracuse University with his master’s degree. He married Beth (Bauer) Horan on June 19, 1965 and they were married for 55 years. He had a great sense of humor and will be remembered for his love of teaching, reading, and bringing laughter and joy to his family and friends. He has helped and encouraged so many people over the years. He leaves behind a legacy of memories and an example of service that have touched so many lives.

David D. Horton ~ October 17, 2020

At age 73, David “Dave” passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at FF Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, NY surrounded by family.

David is predeceased by his parents; Joseph “Rocky” Musso and Carol Musso. Survived by his beloved wife of 50 years; Laura Horton, his children; Thomas Horton and his wife Jennifer, Linda D’Avignon and her husband Robert, his sister; Elizabeth Catalano, his grandchildren; Ryan Horton, Aiden Horton, Owen Horton, Dominik D’Avignon and Grant D’Avignon.

Born on December 1, 1946 in Rochester, New York. David graduated from Edison Tech High School and then served in the United States Army from 1966-1968, including a tour in Vietnam as an intelligence analyst. He worked at RG&E for a 35 year tenure, went on to work at Helendale Primary School for 7 years and then retired to Honeoye Lake in 2010.

David took extreme pride in his servitude to his country. He was a member of Honor Flight Rochester – Mission 58. After returning from his mission, he proceeded to go to every homecoming that followed honoring his fellow service members and actively promoted Honor Flight to every Veteran he encountered.  He also was a devoted and active  member of the Honeoye/Hemlock American Legion Post #1278.

David was a devout catholic and a member of the St. George Benevolent Society.

He loved boating, bonfires, camping, and spending time with his many friends and family. Dave could light up a room, he was always ready with a hug, a laugh and a smile. He had a way of making anyone and everyone feel welcome. He was loved beyond measure and will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.

Susan J. Spadaro ~ October 10, 2020

Susan (Sue) Spadaro, age 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at the Le Roy Village Green Nursing Home. She was born on January 17, 1925, in Frackville, PA, to the late Joseph and Fannie (Keitsock) Stoppi. Sue was predeceased by her beloved husband Samuel J. Spadaro and was the last survivor of 13 children.
Sue left her childhood home during WWII to attend nurse training at the Bellevue Medical Center in New York City. Upon completion, she relocated to the Batavia VA Medical Center where she began her career as a Registered Nurse. It was there that she met her husband of 70 years, who had just returned home from the war.
Sue spent her lifetime caring for others. She was the nurse at the Jell-O Factory, LeRoy High School and then eventually at Edith Hartwell Clinic, known today as Mercy Grove. After her retirement, she continued to care for her family. When her sons were grown, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her five great-grandchildren. At any given time, you could find her cooking, baking or babysitting, even well into her 80s. Sue’s family will most remember her for her strong faith, her awesome pies and never being afraid to let you know what was on her mind.
Sue is survived by her sons, Thomas (Gina) Spadaro and James Spadaro; her grandchildren, Amy (Daniel) Vanderhoof, Joseph (Nikki) Spadaro; her great-grandchildren, Sydney Vanderhoof, Zachary Vanderhoof, Joseph Spadaro, Dominic Spadaro and Anthony Spadaro; and her sister-in-law Lillian Spadaro Irrera.

Phillip L. Moose ~ October 12, 2020

Lakeville:  At age 86, Phillip passed away on Monday, October 12, 2020 at the St. James Hospital in Hornell, NY.  He was born is Canadice, NY to the late Claude and Olevia Moose.  Phillip was predeceased by his beloved wife Eleanor Moose.  Survived by his children; Daniel Moose (Reana Mattingly), Diane (Steve) Cerrone, Barbara Moose, his siblings; Shirley Nujiens, Kenny (Mary) Moose, his 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Phillip was a hard-working farmer with Elm Place Angus and Stokoe Farms in Avon.  He very much enjoyed spending time with his family over a good home cooked meal.  Phillip was a fun-loving, patient father, who will be greatly missed.

Richard Y. Willis ~ September 12, 2020

HOBE SOUND, FLA.- Richard Willis passed away on Sept. 12, 2020. He was born on Oct. 16, 1932 in Rochester, N.Y., graduated from Irondequoit High School in 1951, served in the U.S. Navy as a Corpsman Stationed at Oakland Naval Hospital 1952 – 1954. After being honorably discharged from the Navy Richard attended Alfred State University. Within the first two weeks of school he met the love of his life Clarice Peck. They were married two years later on July 21, 1956. After graduating from Alfred State in 1956, Richard worked at Lakelands Concrete in Lima, N.Y., which was founded by his wife’s Uncle Bill Clarke. In 1979, with an ambition to start his own business, Richard founded LHV Precast, Inc., of Kingston, N.Y. Richard laid the ground work and was instrumental in building LHV to where it is today. He saw the potential and had the tenacity and drive to make it succeed. LHV Precast is still in operation now run by his sons, James Willis and Robert Willis. Richard lived a very full and accomplished life. One of his most prominent accomplishments was that of being a private pilot with 5,000 plus hours. He flew all over New York for sales calls. The family has many fond memories of flying together with many trips to Florida and other locations. He loved boating and waterskiing. Richard and Clarice enjoyed many years camping in their RV at Lake George. Richard and Clarice have a lifetime of memories with their shared passion of dancing. They have cleared many a dance floor together over the years. In 2003, Richard and Clarice retired to Hobe Sound Florida. They had a small home in the Ridgeway Retirement Community. Being a natural leader, Richard was head of the Board at the retirement community. He was well respected and loved by all in the community. Richard was a devoted and loving husband and father. He was loved by all and will be dearly missed.

Richard is survived by his loving family: his wife of 64 years, Clarice Peck Willis; three sons, James and wife Robin, Robert and wife Diane, Steven and wife Megan; grandchildren, Kyle, Dylan, Michael, Ryan, Brandon, Samantha, Haley, Sophie, Ava; and great-grandchildren, Aubree, Kyle, Carter, Joshua, Anayah, Gabriella.

A Memorial Service will take place at 11AM on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at the Hemlock United Methodist Church, 4616 N. Main Street in Hemlock, NY.  Interment and Military Honors will take place immediately following at Richmond Center Cemetery, 4446 Richmond Center Road in Livonia, NY.

Gail Ann O’Connor (Unamann) – October 5, 2020

Canadice:  At age 70, Gail passed on October 5, 2020 at F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, NY.  She was born on September 24, 1950 in Rochester, NY to parents John E. Sr. “Buck” and Julia (Rice) Unamann.  Predeceased by her father John E. Unamann Sr. and her brother Gary “Sam” Unamann.  Survived by her husband of 40 years, John O’Connor and children; Ann Marie (Bob) Buono of Wayne, NY, Raymond Paul Jr. of Honeoye, and Valerie O’Connor of Moresville, NC; mother Julia Unamann of Henrietta, siblings; John Unamann of Henrietta, Janice McGraw of Rush, and Julie (John) Lilley of Knowlesville; 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Gail graduated from St. Agnes Catholic School in Brighton, NY in 1968.  From a young age she was always interested in the automotive industry as her father Buck was involved in the auto parts business.  She had a vast knowledge of engines and was a certified automotive diagnostic technician.  Gail and John owned and operated Canadice Automotive in Honeoye, NY for over 40 years.  She was actively involved with car racing with both her husband and son.  Gail enjoyed NASCAR, was a hard worker, and she gave back as good as she got.

Irving C. Cooper “Irv” ~ October 4, 2020

Lakeville/Geneseo:  At age 84, Irv passed peacefully at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home on October 4, 2020.  He was born on December 9, 1935 in Buffalo, NY to the late Russell Sr. and Mabel (Olson) Cooper.  In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by his first wife Barbara, his second wife Nancy, siblings; Russell Cooper Jr., Betty Thorn, Ann Filler, and Lilian Kohler, and step son-in-law Sam Finocchario.  Survived by step-children; Terry (Bill) Selner of Victor, Karen (Ken) McGee of Avon, Donna Finocchario of Geneseo, Chris (Sue) Willard of Avon, and Jeff Willard of Gates; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Doris Cooper of Farmington, NM, Brothers-in-law; Richard (Peg) Gilson of Rochester, Barry (Pam) Gilson of Canandaigua, and many nieces & nephews.

Irv joined the US Air Force and served active duty from 1954-1958 and in the reserves from 1958-1962.  He was honorably discharged and was always proud of his military service.  He enjoyed time with family and friends the most.  Irv was loved by so many.  Everyone who met him would say he was such a kind and caring person.  He always had a smile on his face.  He was a huge Buffalo Bills fan and loved watching the football games.  He also enjoyed baking muffins for his friends at Country Lane.  Irv was known to some as “Irfie”.  We will miss him very much.

Steven J. Fox ~ October 2, 2020

Honeoye:  At age 63, Steven passed away peacefully on Friday, October 2, 2020 at the F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, NY.  He was born to the late Warren and Irene Fox.  Survived by his sons; Richard Fox and Michael Fox, his two grandchildren; Kayla Fox and Mason Fox, and his siblings; Donald Fox, and Ellen (Bernie) Beikirch, along with several nieces and nephews.

His heart was big and he loved every animal he met.  He was also an avid sports fan, particularly rooting for the Cleveland Browns, and he also enjoyed NHRA Drag Racing.

Jerry W. Sherman ~ September 28, 2020

Honeoye Lake:  At age 72, Jerry passed unexpectedly on September 28, 2020.  He was born on September 19, 1948 in Norwich, NY to the late Wilson and Lucille (Hayden) Sherman.  Survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carol (Peters) Sherman and children; Greg (Cyndi) Sherman of Honeoye and Jennifer Sherman of Buffalo; granddaughter, Summer Sherman; siblings, Matthew Sherman of McDonough, NY and Martha (Harlie) Stowell of Smyrna, NY.

For over 40 years, Jerry was an integral part of the National Ski Patrol.  During that time, he served at Brantling, Bristol and Hunt Hollow.  Jerry held multiple leadership positions including Patrol Director, Region Director, and Eastern Division Director.  He was awarded a National Appointment and was inducted into the National Ski Patrol Hall of Fame, which is an extremely prestigious honor.

In addition to skiing, Jerry was an accomplished hiker, completing all the 46 High Peaks in the Adirondacks.  This put him in an elite group known as the Adirondack 46ers.  He was an amazing craftsman, always helping his friends with projects.  Most recently, he completed a beautiful home renovation for his own home, that his family will be able to enjoy for the rest of their lives. Jerry was an avid hunter, who was always looking forward to hunting season.  He loved his life on the lake, always taking his family and friends for boat rides.  Music was always a big part of Jerry’s life.  His musical taste has been greatly influential to his children and grandchild.  He was an enthusiast sports fan, especially a loyal, yet somewhat disgruntled Buffalo Bills fan.  Jerry was always taking his grand dogs, Daisy the Pug and Gus the Labrador for walks.  He leaves a deep void in the many lives he has touched.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday, October 7th, from 2-5pm at the Kevin W. Joseph B. Eberwein “Joe” – September 24, 2020

 

Lakeville:  Joseph B. Eberwein age 93 of Lakeville, NY passed away peacefully on September 24, 2020 surrounded by his family. Joe was born June 19, 1927 in Rochester, N.Y. , the son of the late Walter and Ellen Eberwein.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth, and brother-in-law John P. Beerly.  He leaves four daughters, Nancy (Bryan) Conklin, Suzanne Eberwein, Patricia (Thomas) McNamara, Lisa (Steve) Csapo, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren and many dear friends.

Joe was a veteran of the United States Navy and a retiree from Rochester Telephone.  He was a past member of the Livonia Rotary Club and enjoyed fishing, skiing, and hunting.

Rodney N. Colegrove ~ September 25, 2020

Livonia:  At age 65, Rodney passed away on Friday, September 25, 2020 in Hemlock, NY.  He was born in Lyons, NY to the late Newton and Marian Colegrove.  Survived by his children; Jason Colegrove and Kaitlynn King, along with his step children; Shawn Armold, Jamie Armold and Tara Armold.
