I was a kid and basically grew up working at Elm Place Angus. I worked with Phil 7 to 8 years and he was always a pleasant man. He was a mechanic and was a magician because some of the crap equipment we had he could fix it. The last time I saw him was in the dinner in Avon and I stopped and talked to him a short while. He was a real good guy and I have fond memories of him.
Phil was always there for our family. He could recount some much history for the Avon farm whether where a water or electric line ran. It took us a time or two before we learned. He always knew. Phil was always there for us. We will miss is warm smile and the good conversations about farming.
Phil was always willing to listen to your problems, always a good sounding board. Phil loved the simple things in life. Happy to chat in a porch or a dock. The world could use a lot more Phil’s. I will forever miss his warm handshake and smile.
