Geneseo/Livonia: November 5, 2014 at age 68 years. Predeceased by her father Joseph Vangalio and grandson Brett Bird. Survived by children; Brian (Bobby Jo) Bird of Mt. Morris, Alicia (Matt) Gascon of Livonia, and Arica (Michael) Bernard of Livonia. Grandchildren; Breanna, Brandy, Brent, and Bethani Bird, Matthew and Anna Gascon, Abigail and Avery Bernard, and great-grandson Brantley Bird, her mother Carmela Vangalio of AZ, siblings; Marianne Vangalio of AZ and Nancy Jo Vangalio of the Netherlands. Aunts; Margaret Vangalio of Geneseo and Carolyn (Norm) Kilbourne of Brockport.
Geraldine “Gerry” was born on July 30, 1946 in Warsaw, NY to parents Joseph & Carmela (Conora) Vangalio. Gerry attended the convent, Our Lady of the Rosary, in her early years. She married Elmer Bird in 1970 and they had 3 children which she cared for.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, November 15th, at 11am at St. Mary’s Church, 4 Avon Road, Geneseo, NY 14454. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Geneseo. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Mary’s Church at the address above. Arrangements entrusted to the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Livonia-Honeoye. Have not seen Gerry in years but went to grade school with her in Geneseo. She was a kind and very nice schoolmate.
We walked to Church School together every week and I really liked her. My sincere condolences to her family.
