Dansville/Livonia: Rodney Jon Barber of Dansville, NY passed away at his home at the age of 52 on October 2, 2017.
Rodney was predeceased by his father David Alonzo Barber and his brother Roger David Barber. He is survived by his loving wife Tammy Marie (Beisheim) Barber; mother Betty Lou (Richardson) Barber currently of Indiana, formerly of Livonia and Conesus; sister LuAnn Barber Rogers (Paul) of Port Hadlock, WA; brother Robert Barber (Carolee) of Indiana; mother-in-Law Diana (Shumway) Beisheim of Honeoye; brother-in law Timothy (Stephanie) of Farmington; sister-in-law Terri Vassallo (Louis) of Bloomfield, and several nieces nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Rodney was born June 2, 1965 in Warsaw, NY. He was a lifelong resident of Livingston County and graduate of Livonia Central High School active in wrestling and Scouts in his youth. He worked as a commercial and residential mason for many years leaving his mark on many buildings in western New York. He also spent time in South Carolina, as well as, San Francisco where he worked for the California Conservation Corps.
After 15 years together Rodney married the love of his life on August 13, 2005. Rodney was a sensitive soul with a big heart. All those he came in contact with will surely miss him.
Friends may call on Thursday, October 5th, from 4-7pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Rte 20A, Livonia, NY. A private graveside service will be held at Union Cemetery, Scottsburg, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Livingston County Hospice, 2 Murray Hill Drive, Mt. Morris, NY 14510.
