Gary P. Wall of Fowlerville, July 17, 2012 at age 53 years. Predeceased by his beloved sister June Bovee in 1987 and his parents. Survived by his wife Irene Wall and his children; April (John) Gianvittorio of CA, Nicole Wall Hildebrant of Geneseo, Christie Wall of Rochester, Gary Wall Jr. and Cassidy Wall both of Fowlerville. Grandchildren; Stella Hildebrant and Jack Gianvittorio. Brothers; Bill (Jill) Wall of Avon, Tom (Paula) Wall and Ron (Tara) Wall both of Fowlerville, and sister Barb (John) Harrigan of Gates. Aunts & Uncles, Cousins, and many friends.

Gary was born in Warsaw, NY on May 5, 1959 to parents Jerome and Dorothy Wall. He graduated from York Central School and later went on to work at Delphi in Rochester, NY from which he retired from. He owned many properties throughout the county and was the President of Gary P. Wall Real Estate. He was a man of many hats and was always on the move. Gary had a love of hockey and coached for many years being involved with the Livingston Blues Youth Hockey. He loved his family and will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Lima, NY: Anita F.(Rafferty) DuRoss, 90 years of Lima, NY formerly of Ticonderoga and Balston Spa, died in Livonia, NY on July 15, 2012. She was born in Ticonerdoga, NY, December 26, 1921 the daughter of Herbert and Martha McMurty Rafferty. Her husband, Scott Duross and son, Dale DuRoss both predeceased her. For 23 years she worked for Balston Knitting and for 13 years she was a Certified Teachers Assisant at District 1 of the Boston Spa Central School District. She was a member of the Balston Spa United Methodist Church and the Hemlock United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Christine L. DuRoss of Lima,NY. Her sisters-in-law, Virgina Rafferty of N.C.,Rebecca Rafferty Galway, NY. and Gladys Mason of Ballston Spa, NY. several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sylvia L. Woolston (Witter) – July 11, 2012

010-1Sylvia L. Witter Woolston passed away on July 11, 2012. She was born on June 15, 1935 to parents Mabel L. McKenzie and Kenneth S. Witter in Geneseo. She was welcomed home by big brother Major Harold E. Witter who predeceased her on March 11, 2012. Younger siblings, Kenneth S. Witter Jr., deceased on August 17, 2001, surviving brothers Otto Clark Witter of Brockport, Harlow (Ruth) Witter of Geneseo and sister Sally A. Witter of Geneseo, many nieces and nephews. She graduated from Geneseo Central School always wanting to be a wife and mother. She got her wish while working at Katherine’s Restaurant in Geneseo when she met John E. Woolston. They were married on May 24, 1958, settling in Livonia for the entire 49 years of marriage until his death on January 24, 2007. They had four children, daughters, Brenda Lee Hettrick, spouse Alan, grandson, Michael, Bambi Lynn Woolston-Witherow, grandsons, Ryan, Patrick and Jeffrey (Megan DeWind), sons, Christopher John, Brian Jay Scott (Kim), grandchildren, Heather, Carley, Devin and Ethan. One of her greatest joys were her great grandchildren, Brooke Ann, Carter and Mayson. She was very lucky to have many special people in her life, Lori Woolston who visited often and assisted with her care, and the Lemen family who never failed to send a card.

Her first job out of her home was at Conesus Lake Nursing Home. She left only when she had the opportunity to work at Annie’s Ark Daycare Center upon its opening. This proved to be one of the highlights of her life. She worked with the babies from 1982 until 1998. She had many pictures of all the little ones she worked with over the years. Upon leaving the Ark, she was employed as a babysitter for two very special boys, Christopher and Little John and enjoyed many special times with the Wilson Family. Over the years she spoke of these many children as if they were all members of the family. To her they were her family.

She was active with the Order of the Eastern Star in Livonia for many years. She held many positions within the organization and she and John travelled much to other Districts to carry out their duties. She was a member of the United Church of Livonia where she worked with the Sunday school as well as cleaning duties with her husband.
With John’s passing in 2007, she resided at the Absolut of Houghton in Houghton, NY until October of 2011 when she moved to the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris. She remained there until her death. She was dedicated to her family putting them first above herself.

Livonia: Raymond S. Morrell, 94 years, of Big Tree St. Livonia died Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Livingston County CNR in Mt. Morris after a brief stay. Raymond was born in Livonia, NY, July 7, 1917, the son of Scott and Elizabeth Jamison Morrell. He attended school in Hemlock, and was a graduate of Cornell University. He was an Army World War II Veteran who was honorably discharged with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was a member of the Harrison-Lee American Legion Post #283. Ray was a long time teacher at Avon Central School where he taught agriculture, science and math. He was always happy to see his former students and made a point to attend all of the class reunions up until recently. Ray was a member the Livonia Grange, the New York State Retired Teachers Association, the Avon Chapter of the International Order of Odd Fellows, the Genesee Valley Military Officers Association and was the leader of the Future Farmers of America in Avon.

Raymond was predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Ruth on Jan 17, 2012. He is survived by his children, Carol Cottone of Avon, Marjorie Houck of Avon & Joann (Anthony) Backus of Avon; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; many nieces & nephews.

leclair2Livonia: At age 67 after a long fought battle with breast cancer that she faced with grace and dignity, Diane went to be with Our Lord June 12, 2012. Predeceased by her mother Jean in 1983 and her father Herb in 2004. Diane will be sadly missed by her devoted and caring husband, John, her loving daughters, Shelley DeLosh and Carrie (Nick) Pulizzi, siblings; Jeanne Marquardt, Linda Marquardt and Jim (Jeanne) Marquardt. She leaves behind her 5 wonderful grandsons, Ben, Sam and Tom DeLosh, Jackson and Noah Pulizzi, a niece and nephew, stepson Justin LeClair, several aunts, uncles and cousins. Diane was a warm, generous and kind friend to many including those from St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Geneseo and her alumnus sorority sisters from Phi Lambda Chi at SUNY Geneseo, of which Diane was a charter member and graduated in 1966. Diane taught special education for 31 years, most recently at Geneseo High School until she retired in 2006. Diane was known as a great cook, homemaker, a lover of cats (Buttercup), enjoyed gardening and crafts and entertaining, all of which she excelled at. She spent many happy times on Conesus Lake as a child and adult. John and Diane were in the process of building her dream home there. The family gratefully thanks her many friends, especially Dr. Richard Aguirre, Tracy Cope, Dr. Brian Yirinec and the special staff at Pluta Cancer Center and the caregivers from Livingston County Hospice.

Lois B. Stauffer – June 8, 2012

Lois Elaine Brinker Stauffer of Coy Road, Livonia, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Friday, June 8th, 2012 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. She died of a massive stroke following a liver transplant operation.

Lois was born to parents James and Eva Brinker on April 28, 1943 in Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown, PA. She was raised with her brother Jim on a plot of the Brinker family farm. She attended Central Bucks High School and East Stroudsburg University, earning a degree in Physical Education. Lois married Phares S. Stauffer of Hatfield, PA in 1967. Their only child, daughter Tracy Lee, was born in 1973.

Lois taught P. E. at Quakertown High School from 1967-1973. She was the founder and lead teacher of St. John’s Luthern Church School in Ridge Valley from 1973-1985. She returned to school and trained to become a medical assistant, working at Doylestown Medical Associates until her retirement in 2002. Over the years Lois also worked as a homemaker, school bus driver, lifeguard and water safety instructor.

Over the course of her life Lois had many interests and hobbies that she actively pursued. She loved animals, specifically her childhood horses and her dogs. She loved to be outdoors. She and her husband Phares pursued many outdoor activities together, including waterskiing, boating, sailing, canoeing, camping, bicycling, shooting, fishing, tractors and motorcycles. Lois always enjoyed gardening, swimming, and soaking up the sun.
Lois was extremely skilled in various handicrafts, specifically sewing, quilting and rug braiding. She was a member of the Valley Forge Rug Braiders Association and taught advanced rug braiding techniques. Her many handmade quilts and rugs beautify her families’ homes.

Lois’s greatest joy in later life was her grandchildren: Elise (age 11), Michael (age 8), Jocelyn (age 4), and Luke (age 2). She devoted herself to them through her time, talents, and love. She is survived by these dear grandchildren, her husband Phares, daughter Tracy and son-in-law Dave Berthin. She is also survived by her brother, Jim, of Oakton, VA, his wife Dorothy, their children Wendy and Michael and their families. She left behind her loyal canine companions, JJ and Gretel.

Lois was a faithful Christian woman who loved God and trusted Him completely with her life. During her illness, surgery, recovery, and death she was in perfect peace in the arms of Christ.

Lima. Harry was born in Northern Ireland, October 30, 1924 the son of David Clements and Margreta Turtle Clement. After coming to the United States, he worked in agriculture on his own farms in the area. He was a member of Avon Wesleyan Church, the Orange Lodge and the Avon Odd Fellows Lodge. He married his wife, Caroline Moore on June 22, 1957. He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, James and Herbert Clements.
