Livonia: Paul A. Vaughan died on January 26, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer, at the age of 78. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother George Barlow, and sister Barbara Hasbrouck. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia (Collins) Vaughan; sons, Robert (Laurie) Vaughan and Paul Jr. “Trey” (Joanna) Vaughan, and daughter Amy (Tom) Martin; grandchildren: Jessica, Justin, Kayla, Liam, Andrew, Trevor, and Garrett; sister, Nancy Banker, sister-in-law Annette Barlow, and many other Beloved family members and friends.

Paul was born in Rochester, NY in 1938. He graduated from Edison Technical High School in 1957. He joined the US Army in January 1958 and completed electrical training before being stationed in Germany in the motor division for 26 months. He was honorably discharged in 1962. He joined the IBEW in 1965 and then went on to work for Eastman Kodak in 1980, which he retired from in 1999. Paul was an avid gardener, fastidious lawn caretaker, nature lover, and world traveler. Paul spent his summers growing up on Conesus Lake and spent his life enjoying swimming, concerts in the summer at Vitale Park, and visiting his friends around the lake. He was quick with a smile and laugh, very neat and orderly and attended to the most minute detail of a project with his full attention. Paul was always ready to help friends and neighbors, would strike up a conversation with anyone, eat (almost anything), and kept a keen eye on his money and investments. Pat and Paul enjoyed wintering in Fort Myers, Florida for the last 17 years.

Rush: Entered into rest on January 24, 2017 at age 94 years. Beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Predeceased by her husband Ralph N. Keyes in 2014 and her sister Ruth Mann. Vera grew up in Irondequoit and attended vocational school studying cosmetology and later working as a Hair Dresser. During World War II, she served in the Navy (WAVES) stationed in Norfolk, VA. After the war, she met Ralph, with whom she shared a great love for dancing. Married in 1947, Vera worked with Ralph on the family farm for more than thirty-five years. Together with Ralph, she also enjoyed traveling, square dancing and high school plays for nearly 67 years.

A visionary in his own right, he came to America 47 years ago and worked tirelessly to provide “a better life” for his family. Loved and inspired by all who knew him, he will be deeply missed.

David retired as a Patrol Sergeant in 1994 from the Livingston County Sheriff Dept. He also served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years and was the Geneseo Town Court Justice for many years. For 25 years, she taught young children to ski at Swain. Despite Alzheimer’s disease, Lou kept her sweet disposition and beautiful smile to the end.

Survived by his wife of 45 years, Rory Marlowe and children; Shannon (Jamie) Erwin of Dansville, Kerry Marlowe of Geneseo, and Christopher Marlowe of Livonia; Granchildren, Justin Schwingel, Gabrielle Reid, Harley Rose Foster, Derek Marlowe, and many loving friends.

Sarge was born September 18, 1947, the son of Edwin Marlowe and Elizabeth Dalfonzo, grew up in Caledonia, went to Caledonia school. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Army and served in Vietnam, working in the area of communications. He was working at the US Embassy during the TET offensive in 1968. This was a turning point of the Vietnam War. Upon his return to the United States he worked at the Red Stone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama. His career then led him to communication at the Pentagon. After an honorable discharge from the Army he began work for Eastman Kodak.

In 1971 he married, moved to Livonia and started a family. As the years passed, he enjoyed being a loving father to his 3 children and grandchildren. He was an avid Yankees fan, and a die-hard Vikings fan since childhood. He enjoyed coaching softball and volunteering many hours to the Livonia Athletic Program.

Sarge’s Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 8th, at 10:00am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Murray Street, Mt. Morris, NY, with military honors. Walt served as an officer in the US Naval Reserve and with distinction as Sgt. First Class, B Company, 42nd Armored Infantry Battalion, US Army in Germany. A charismatic and dynamic leader, Walt excelled in his career at Eastman Kodak, traversing the country as a Sales Rep and Sales & Marketing Director at MEC, and traveling the world as Director of both Military Trade Relations and Photofinisher/Food Trade Relations. Following his retirement at age 55, Walt was hired as a marketing consultant by Isaac Heating & Air Conditioning.

In 1985 Walt fulfilled a lifelong dream of living on Conesus Lake; his “Lake Years” with Marie were among their happiest. In addition to teaching his kids and grandkids to water-ski, Walt cleared and flooded an ice rink each winter for skating parties. Walt and Marie enjoyed many years of golf as members of Wildwood Country Club in Rush.

Walt found great joy in volunteering with Catholic Charities of Livingston County and was a member and Director of the Chamber of Commerce, receiving the George Traber Community Service award in 2008.

His final years were dedicated to caring for his Marie who was confined to a wheelchair for several years. They were renowned for their devotion to each other and were dearly loved throughout the Livonia community.

Bill was born on December 22, 1928, in Avon, NY, to Samuel McKeown and Agnes Lynn McKeown. He was a graduate of Avon High School, and married his wife Martha in 1953. They had three daughters. Bill worked as a farmer, and was the Town of Avon Highway Superintendent. In his free time, Bill enjoyed racing ponies, having coffee at the local diners, and spending time with his family.

Conesus Lake: Peacefully on January 1, 2017, at age 91 years, surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his wife Winifred Woodruff in 2014. Survived by his children; Dr. J. David (Linda) Woodruff, Gary (Mary) Woodruff, and Mark (Lani) Woodruff all of Livonia. 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, brother Donald (Janice) Woodruff of Livonia, and several nieces & nephews.

John was a master at all he did. First and foremost he was a family man. When it came to his boys, there was nothing he didn’t teach them and no stronger bond. He began his career as a draftsman at Gleason works in Rochester. He then earned his degree in education and became a teacher in Endicott NY, and later a school administrator in Jamestown city school district.

If ever you were looking for him, he could be found in an open field flying his model airplanes or in his barn creating a remarkable timeline of the history of McPherson point. McPherson point was home for the Woodruff family. John enjoyed visiting with all the doggies on the point. He always had a special treat for each one. His ability to crack a joke and his infectious laugh will forever be cherished.
