James J. Carey of Church Hill Road, Henrietta died at St. John’s Home in Rochester October 7, 2009 age 84. James was born in Honeoye Falls September 5, 1925 son of John and Anna Cahill Carey. He was a graduate of Honeoye Falls Central School and RIT where he received his degree in electrical engineering. He was a US Naval Veteran of World War II and an electrical engineer retiring from Chloride Electro Networks in Caledonia.
James is survived by his wife of 59 years, Monica Gaffney Carey; his daughters, Barbara Carey of Olympia, Washington, Mary Ellen (Lewis) Whipple of Webster and Susan Carey of Rochester. 4 Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Sunday 3-7 at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc., 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls. A Funeral Mass will be held 10AM Monday at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 3318 East Henrietta Road, Henrietta. Burial will follow at St. Paul of the Cross Cemetery, Honeoye Falls. Masses may be said for the repose of his soul or memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Good Shepherd, American Heart Association or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
