Honeoye: Elizabeth S. “Dick” White, 88 years, of County Road 37, Honeoye, died June 18, 2009 at M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua after a long illness. She had been employed by both Thompson Hospital, and the former Genesee Hospital in Rochester. She was a member of the Honeoye-Hemlock American Legion Auxiliary. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Harold White in 1968.

Survived by her children, Diana (Ray Baker) White of Lima, Lee (Sandy) White of Wayland, Roy (Jean Abbott) White of Canadice, Ted (Lorrie) White of Honeoye, Hal (Mae) White of Canadice. 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. nieces and nephews.

South Livonia: Olga M. Niedermaier, 92 years, died June 11, 2009 at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home in Livonia after a long illness. She was born in Livonia, May 19, 1917 the daughter of Theodore and Clara Belle Collier. Olga and her late husband operated a grocery store in South Livonia for many years.

She was predeceased by her husband Matthias; sisters, Jennie Henry, Ruth Beach; and brother, George Kiefer. Livonia: Raymond J. Connell, 85 years, passed away peacefully at the Conesus Lake Nursing Facility on June 8, 2009. He was born on December 31, 1923 the son of Raymond J. and Martha Yahn Connell. Ray was an educator and administrator for 32 years, most recently at the Livonia Intermediate School, which now bears his name.

Ray is survived by his wife Patricia; daughters Maureen, Marti (Chad) Henderson, Rae Anne (Alex) Strasenburgh, granddaughters Brenna and Brogan Henderson, and grandson Andrew Strasenburgh. He is also survived by his brother Jim (Anne) Connell brother-in-law Don Wolf, along with many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Ray’s sisters Bernice Wolf and Mary Jeanne Connell predeceased him.

Ray lived in Livonia most of his life. After high school he fought in World War II and battled on the beaches of Normandy. He then went to college to become a teacher. His path eventually led him back to Livonia.

Ray had many interests. He was an avid horseman. He was an outstanding gymnast at Cortland State where he did his undergraduate work. He was a coach, with wrestling being his biggest passion. Even in his later years, in failing health, he continued to find enjoyment following the Livonia Wrestling Team. He was a carpenter and entrepreneur, building homes in the area after his retirement from school, along with his wife Pat and their business, Home Sweet Homes by Connell.

In addition to being a decorated WWII veteran, Ray was a past national president of the Delta Kappa fraternity. He is a member of the Livonia Central School Athletic Hall of Fame, as well as the Livingston Conference Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Ray will be greatly missed by his family, many friends, and former colleagues.

Piffard: Patrick T. “PK” Kelly of Genesee St. Piffard, NY died Friday June 5, 2009 at his home after a short illness. He was born in Rochester,NY July 1, 1957 the son of George and Elizabeth “Betsy” Porreca Kelly, who predeceased him. Pat’s effervescence and enthusiasm for life ennabled him to hold many dear friends, ensuring he will always be remembered and cherished. Most recently, he worked at Elmwood Manor Compex in Rochester as a supervisor, after 20 years at the Gates-Chili School District as a courier. He was a beloved and committed husband, who married in 1993 and renewed his vows in 2000. He was a caring and gracious father, who provided an immeasurable amount of unconditional love, passion,guidance and support. Anyone who knew PK, even for a minute, knew he loved Pink Floyd, also. Many will miss him and hold his memory forever in their hearts. Pat was a man who could – and often would – reach out to any and all persons; expected or unexpected.

Hemlock: Christopher R. Barnard, 24 years, of Main St. Hemlock, NY died suddenly Monday, May 24, 2009 as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on County Road 36 in Canadice. Chris was born March 16, 1985 in Rochester the son of Peter and Linda Lembach Barnard. He was a 2004 graduate of Livonia Central School and a 2008 graduate of Syracuse University where he received his degree in mechanical engineering. He was currently employed in the construction industry. Chris also was an avid enthusiast of the demolition derby at the Hemlock Fair, where he participated annually.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his sisters Heidi Barnard of Hemlock and Jennifer Lauritzen of Gates. his nephew, Cameron Goodwin. Grandmother, Geraldine Barnard of Hemlock. Shirley Hunter – May 19, 2009

Lakeland, FL : Mrs. Shirley Hunter died May 19, 2009 at age 88 years of heart failure at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland Florida.

Mrs. Hunter was born April 6, 1921 in Aspen Pennsylvania. She had been a resident of Lakeland Florida since 1985. She retired from Crossman Arms in Bloomfield New York in 1982. She was predeceased in death by her husband, Clifford, after 67 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by two brothers.

She is survived by her five sisters, one brother, a daughter, a son, a grand-daughter and a grandson.

Shirley was a loving sister, neighbor, friend, and parent. She loved animals, people, and her family. Her hobby was gardening and could make flowers bloom and vegetables multiply with little effort. Later she got into crochet and plastic canvas, making gifts and home decorations. For many years she worked as a cook in a couple of restaurants and could put together a delicious spread at home for holiday and family gatherings. Camping became a great past time for family outings. Shirley enjoyed moving to Florida after retirement away from winter snow. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Inc. which she and her late husband owned and operated in earlier years. Hilda was also very active in the Meals on Wheels Program in the Livonia area.

Charles A. D’Angelo,Sr. 83 years of 3163 West Lake Rd. Geneseo,NY (Town of Livonia) died late Tuesday evening at his home, surrounded by his family.
Chuck was born in Avon, NY November 16, 1925 the son of Anthony and Josephine LePome D’Angelo. He was a World War 2 Army veteran who saw military action in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Lakeville Fire Department and its Exempt Club. Chuck also served on the Town of Livonia Planning Board for over 30 years. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Joslyn (Pinco) in Lima, NY.

Springwater: March 31, 2009 at age 70 years. Predeceased by parents Ervin Russell and Marguarite Bodine and sister Pauline Smith. Survived by his wife of 45 years Patricia A. Russell (Lynch – formerly of Kenmore, NY.) Son Paul C. Russell Jr. and daughter Stacey Lynn Russell both of Springwater. Five grandchildren; Rachel Russell, Rachaellea Wright, Whitney Russell, Taylor Paul Wright, and Danielle Russell. Sister, Bernice Turner of Mt. Morris and brother Ervin Russell Jr. of FL.

Paul was born July 10, 1938 in Brooks, Maine the son of Ervin Russell and Marguarite St. Onge. Mr. Russell was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1958-1960. He retired from the Rochester Laborers Local 435 in 1998. He enjoyed the outdoors and his love of hunting.

Vincent A. Rowley – March 27, 2009

Honeoye: Vincent A. Rowley of Brookview Drive in Honeoye, NY died March 27, 2009, after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family in Tampa, Florida., where he resided during the winter months. Vin was a lifelong Honeoye resident, served in the US Marine Corps during World War 2, was an investigator with the Ontario County Sheriffs Department, and then retired as Town of Richmond Highway Superintendent. He was Past Commander of of the Honeoye-Hemlock American Legion Post, life member of the Richmond Fire Department, and Past Master of the Masonic Lodge #619. Vin was predeceased by his parents, Philip and Irene Rowley; brother, Philip; sisters, Ethel Rowley and Margaret Peck.

The family extends their thanks to the community and its organizations for their invaluable support.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Pearl Grouse Rowley; daughters, Beverly (Wayne) Roberts, of West Bloomfield, Bonnie Rowley of St. Petersburg, FL; sons, Stephen Rowley (Gale Onderdonk) of Honeoye, Vincent C. (Patricia) Rowley of St. Petersburg, FL,; grandchildren, Matthew Roberts, Victoria Roberts (Ezra), Sarah Rowley, Vincent Brent Rowley, Andrea (Nathan) Miller, Spencer Rowley, Chad Rowley, and Justin Rowley; great grandchildren, Max and Grace Miller; many loving nieces and nephews.
