Bette J. Koester – January 10, 2018

Conesus Lake: Peacefully on January 10, 2018 at age 93. Predeceased by her husband Rusty Koester and sons Dale and Jay Koester. Survived by daughter Judy Koester (Carol DeRider) of Penfield. Also survived by many other loving family and friends.

Bette was born on May 12, 1924 in Rochester, NY. She graduated from Webster High School and later moved to Lakeville, NY. She was a loving mother, friend, and a forever putzer. Bette was always working around her home and loved to garden. The family would like to extend a big thank you to the 3rd Floor Memory Lane Family at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation for their dedication to Bette for the last four years.

Richard E. Kraft “Dick” – January 8, 2018

CANADICE: Age 79, January 8th, 2018. Dick Kraft, owner of Kraft Real Estate and Appraisers in Honeoye NY, passed away quietly at his home on Sunday. Predeceased by his wife Mary Ann Kraft and sister Sheryl (Rick) Beltran. He is survived by his son Rich Kraft, grandchildren Kerry Ann and Justin R. Kraft, brother Ron (Monica) Kraft, and several nieces and nephews.

Betty B. Buck – January 7, 2018

Cohocton: Betty B. Buck of Cohocton, NY passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 with her daughters at her side in the Livington County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.

She was born January 9, 1934, at home in Campbell, NY the daughter of Floyd LaVee and Lena Jane (Lewis) Butler. She was a graduate of Campbell High School and earned her Associates Degree from Corning Community College. Betty retired from the Steuben County Department of Social Services where she was a social worker in the Preventive Services Unit.

Betty is survived by her children; Todd (Lee) Buck of McDonald, Kansas, Tammra Buck of Savona, Penelope (Thomas Majka) Buck of Cortland; 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and her former husband, Gerald Buck. She was predeceased by her sisters, Iowa (Raymond) Buck, Elaine (Harry) Taft, Alberta “Bert” Bates Wilson (Bill), Janice (Ellis “Bud”) Craft and Joyce (Louie) Buchanan, and her brothers, Lewis Butler, Nolan (Carrie) Butler, Kasson (Ionne) Butler and Jay Butler.

Betty liked to say that she talked for a living, but her passion was helping families keep their children healthy and safe. She loved to share her knowledge and advice, and she enjoyed playing with children and encouraging them to learn and thrive. Once she retired, her grandchildren were a constant source of joy as they entertained her and made her laugh. She also loved reading and surrounded herself with books and her Kindle filled with as many titles as she could fit into it.

Following her wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral service. She asked that friends and family gather for a picnic in the summer to celebrate her life by sharing food, laughter, and stories of our time with her. Robert A. Belmont – January 6, 2018

Honeoye/Canandaigua/Victor: January 6, 2018 at age 89 years. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, M. Helen (Turner) Belmont & his sister, Rita Shlesinger. Survived by his children, Bob (Amy) Belmont of Greenwood, SC., Don (Pat) Belmont of Nashville, TN., Sue Ras of Brockport, Anne (Jim) Dobbertin of Mendon. 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild. Brother, Donald (Sally) Belmont of Rochester. Sister, Mary Mack of Alexandra, VA. Brother-in-law, Bill Sheslinger of Alexandria, VA. Nieces & nephews. He was retired from Eastman Kodak Co. and was very active in community affairs in Ontario County.

Robert A. Belmont was born in Rochester, NY April 1928, the son of Frank and Elizabeth Richter Belmont. He served his country in the US Marine Corps from 1946 to 1948.His college education was at the University of Toronto from 1948 to 1952, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Bob was a longtime employee of Eastman Kodak retiring in 1986. He served his community as Richmond Town Supervisor for 13 years, F.F. Thompson Hospital Board of Directors for 5 years, Chairman of the Ontario County Republican Committee for 5 years, served on the Ontario County Industrial Development Agency for 10 years, Finger Lakes Community College Foundation Board Executive Committee for 6 years, Board of Trustees Fingerlakes Community College for 9 years with being Chairman 1 year, President of the Bristol Harbor Village Association for 2 years, and several other boards and committees (ethics,environmental, zoning, etc.)

Richard F. Holland – January 3, 2018

Avon: January 3, 2018 at age 72 years. Predeceased by his wife Susan Holland and son Peter Holland. Survived by children; David Holland of Los Angeles, CA and Katie (Justin) Gange of Buffalo; grandson Callen Gange; siblings, Virginia (Michael) Hayes of Ashville, NY, Donald (Cheryl) Holland of Erie, PA, and SalLee Holland of Jamestown; sisters-in-law Sally McDougall and Sara (Bob) Butler all of Sebring, FL. Also survived by honorary daughters; Nga (Thong) Au of Greece, and their children Justin & Christine, and Phuong (Xuan) Nguyan of FL; many other loving family and friends, his church family at Cornerstone Baptist Church especially Pastor John & Carol Zatkiewicz, and neighbor Kelly Frazer.

Richard was born on February 9, 1945 in Jamestown, NY. He married Susan (O’Leary) Holland on March 26, 1970 and they became proud parents of David and Katie. Richard worked at Kraft Foods in Avon, NY for over 40 years and retired in 2007. He was a resident of Wadsworth Avenue for many years and always enjoyed visiting with neighbors and friends.

Dansville/Livonia: January 2, 2018 at age 91. Predeceased by her husband Warren “Bing” May, her parents Francis & Doris Fisher, son-in-law Jason Dobbs, and her three sisters and their spouses. Cora Mae was born on April 25, 1926 in Springwater, NY. She married Warren B. “Bing” May in the Springwater Methodist Church on her birthday in 1943. She attended the United Methodist Church of Livonia where she was a Sunday School Teacher, helped prepare Rotary dinners, and was on hand to help as needed with church functions. She worked for 33 years at the Livonia School District in many different capacities.
