Stuart Winfield Bush – March 22, 2009

Rochester/Mt. Morris: Stuart Winfield Bush, 94 years of Rochester, formerly of Mt. Morris, NY died Sunday March 22, 2009 at the Jewish Home of Rochester. He was born in Canadice, NY September 14, 1914, the son of Stuart and Alma Wheaton Bush. He is survived by children, Joanne (Don) Haefele, Stuart C. (Lowen) Bush. and Janis (Stan) McCormack; grandchildren, Elizabeth (George) Werthman, Peter (Jennifer Scanlon) Haefele, Robin (John) Meehan, Kaitlyn Bush, Jeffrey (Theresa) McCormack, Erin (Eric) Ludwig, and Evan McCormack. 3 great grandchildren.

Winfield was a 1937 graduate of the University of Michigan earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After participating in the R.O.T.C. program and as a member of the US Army Reserve, he was called to active duty in 1941 and commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. He sailed to England in 1943 on the Queen Mary and particpated in the planning of D-Day. His liberty ship landed at Utah Beach where he received multiple shrapnel wounds. He was involved in multiple combat operations in France, Belgium. and Germany. Upon his discharge from active service he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, US Army Reserve and was awarded a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.

Winfield returned home to Mt. Morris to join his father in farming and farm machinery sales and service. He was a member of the Mt. Morris Rotary Club, Mt. Morris Masonic Lodge, serving as Grand Master, the Mt. Morris Morris United Church, and also served as member and President of the Mt. Morris Central School Board. He was a talented pianist who played the classics into his 90’s and a devoted caregiver to his wife, Jane, during her last 3 years.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years. Jane and his parents, Stuart H. and Alma Bush.

The family wishes to give special thanks to all of the caregivers at the Jewish Home of Rochester 6th Floor SW, especially Soma, for the care, kindness, and regard given our Dad during the past two years.

Alfred Station: March 21, 2009 at age 66 years. Predeceased by father Jerome Miller and sister Barbara Derks. Survived by mother Doris Miller, Daughters, Robin (John) Healy, Michelle and Wendy, and son John Miller. Ross enjoyed fishing, gardening & was an active member of the Arbor Day foundation.

Ross was bron November 12, 1942 in Lyons, NY the son of Jerome Miller and Doris Ellinwood Miller. He served in the United States Army from 1965-1967. Prior to retirement he was employed at Eastman Kodak for many years.

Bruce R. Hill – March 20, 2009

Livonia Center: March 20, 2009 at age 79 years. Predeceased by his wife Ozelle Hill in 1996 and parents Walter and Edith Hill. Survived by daughters, Suzanne Hill of Livonia Center, Sharon (Michael) Runyan of Indiana, and Sylvia (Don) Maxwell of Geneseo. Bruce was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Livonia, the Livonia Senior Citizens, and the XYZ Club of Avon. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Prior to retirement Bruce was employed at the Eastman Kodak Company for many years. Bruce was active with the Hemlock Fire Department serving in many capacities. Bruce enjoyed his time spent with children as he played Santa Claus at the Lakeville Fire Department and also the Lakeville McDonald’s. He had a great love of the outdoors and camping. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Kubecka, 94 years, of 6152 East Lake Road, Conesus,NY, formerly of Kirkville,NY died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home in Livonia, where she had resided for the past few months. She was born in Binghampton, NY October 2, 1914 the daughter of Willard and Florence Edick Davison. For the past several years she was a homemaker, however, in her earlier years she was employed by such companies as General Electric, Loblaws, WT Grants, and Crouse-Hinds. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Livonia United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her husbands, Donald Geer and Stephen Kubecka.

Virginia is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rev. David and Jean Geer of Conesus, NY. Conesus: March 12, 2009 at age 80 years. Predeceased by his wife Leslie Thomas July 9, 2008. Neal was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Lee A. Walker – March 9, 2009

Livonia: Lee A. Walker, 58 years of Poplar Hill Road, Livonia, NY died Monday, March 9, 2009 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on March 4, 2009. He was born February 14, 1951 in Rochester, NY the son of Charles F. Walker and Betty Morlock. He was a welder who was employed by Hoffend and Sons and American Packaging Co. prior to becoming disabled. He was a member of St. Matthews Church in Livonia, and the NRA. Lee did volunteer work for the liver donor program. He also enjoyed doing art work and the outdoors, including hunting, fishing and all kinds of sports.

Lee is survived by his wife of 20 years. Jeanne Richards Walker; daughter, Karleen (Kevin) Peri of Chili, grandson, Gavin Peri. Godchild, Garrett Richards of Canandaigua. Father, Charles F. Paul L. White 81 years of Lonesome Trail Conesus, NY died Sunday March 8, 2009 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. He was born in Conesus January 23, 1928 the son of Walter and Lillian Holmes White. He was a World War II Navy Veteran, member and past commander of the Conlon-Mulvaney American Legion Post and member of the Springwater Rod and Gun Club, the Dansville Moose, the NRA, the Fairport VFW, and the Conesus Fire Department. Prior to retirement he was employed by BR DeWitt and Manitou Construction in Rochester. He was predeceased by his wife Lucille and his brother Jay White.
Paul is survived by the mother of his children Mary White, his children Connie (Gary) Derrenbacher of Walnut Cove, NC, Diane White of Springwater, Mary Ann (Quill) Chandler of Conesus, Paula White of Ossian, and Michael (Laura) White of Conesus. 8 grandchildren Jess, Zack, Coty, Sam, Hannah, Kaylee, Alex, and Abby. Canandaigua: Harold K. “Lefty” Colegrove, 92 years, of Middle Chesire Road, Canandaigua died Wednesday evening, March 4, 2009 at FF Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, after a long illness. He was born in Watkins Glen, NY April 13, 1916 the son of Harlow and Dorothea Klesa Colegrove. Lefty was retired laundry superindentent at the VA Hospital in Canandaigua, was a World War 2 Army Veteran, a member of the American Legion, an avid bowler, fisherman, loved sailing and building sailboats, gardening, and enjoyed refinishing furniture.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Wilma “Billie” Drain Colegrove; Sisters, Nina Colegrove of Farmington, Lawrence (Helen) Colegrove, of Sun City, AZ, Leon Colegrove of Shortsville, Clarice Barnes of Canandaigua, several nieces and nephews.

Allen E. Ward – March 2, 2009

Lakeville: Allen E. Ward, 95 years, of Big Tree Road, Lakeville, NY died Monday March 3, 2008 at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home in Livonia where he had resided for a short period of time. He was born October 20, 1913 the son of Walter and Erma Johnson, in Geneseo, NY. Allen was US Navy Veteran in World War 2, retired from Eastman Kodak Co. in 1976 after 37 years of service. A 69 year member of the Lakeville United Chruch of Christ, he served in many capacities within the Church throughout that time. He also was a member of the Livonia Masonic Lodge, a lifetime member of the Lakeville Fire Department, the Harrison-Lee American Legion Post #283. An avid gardener, Allen very much enjoyed raising gladiolas, and belonged to the New York State Gladiolas Association. Allen had many interests and hobbies including stampbook collecting, srcapbooking, traveling and colecting books and magazines.

Allen is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jane McMillan; his children,David (Lin) Ward, Ann (Alan) Mathias, and Alice (Mel) Dillon all of Scottsville. 5 grandchildren, Michael, Lisa, Jeffrey, Melanie, and Kyla. 1 great grandson, Attila. His sister, Lillian Ward of Lakeville. several nieces and nephews.

Conesus: Louise W. Ryder, 80 years of Stage Coach Road, Conesus died Saturday, February 28, 2009 at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home where she had resided for the past three months. She was born in Macedon, NY April 4, 1928, the daughter of Edward and Irma Pratt Willie. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Champion Knitwear in Livonia. Her husband, L. Earl Ryder died February 22, 2000.

Bristol: Milton C. Ketchum, 87 years,of Morrow Hill Road in Bristol, died unexpectedly Friday, February 27, 2009 at FF Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, NY. He was born September 21, 1921 the son of William and Celia Ketchum. He served in the US Army Air Corps during World War 2. Prior to retiring in 1984, he owned and operated Ketchum Trucking Co. in Rochester.He was a long time member of the Honeoye-Hemlock American Legion Post and throughly enjoyed his property in Bristol during his retirement.

Lakeville: Marjorie A. VanIngen, 79 years, of Rochester Road in Lakeville, died Friday evening February 13, 2009 at the Teresa House in Geneseo. She was born in Lakeville, February 15, 1929 the daughter of Charles and Bessie Hoyt Sloan. She was a member of the Lakeville United Church of Christ and the Lakeville Fire Department Ladies Auxialiary. She was predeceased by her husband Walter “Red” VanIngen in 1991. She was well known for her generosity as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Marge is survived by her sons, Gary (Joyce Ann) VanIngen of Pittsford and David (Barbara) VanIngen of South LIma. 4 grandchildren, Michael and Kevin VanIngen, Kimberly Ferranti and Kristine Szyikowski. 4 great grandchilren, Emma, Christopher, Ryan and Hailey. Her brother Clyde Sloan of Lakeville and sister-in-law Lois Culver of Lakeville. several nieces and nephews.

Charles M. Clow “Charlie” – February 7, 2009

Wayland/Springwater: February 7, 2009 at age 65 years at his Strutt Street home. Survived by his wife Carol Clow ; Sons, Jeff (Cindy) Clow of Rochester and Tim (Casey) Clow of Rochester. 4 grandchildren. Mother, Jean Guy of Penfield. Sister, Judy (Paul) Haley of Fairport and brother Ed Clow of East Rochester. nieces and nephews.

Charlie was born January 12, 1944 in Rochester, NY to parents Clarence and Jean Clow. He was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Era. Charlie was a longtime employee of the Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester and was also a bus driver for the Wayland School District.
