Honeoye: Kathleen M. McGory, 74 years, of Honeoye, NY died Tuesday August 22, 2017, in Waterloo, NY. She was born May 16, 1943, in Canandaigua, NY, the daughter of Charles Fletcher and Agnes Verstraete McGory. Kathy was a 1961 graduate of Honeoye Central School, a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and its Rosary and Altar Society. She also was a member of the Honeoye Rotary Club. For 42 years, she was employed by the former Philip J. Rowley Agency in Honeoye.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sister, Alice.  She is survived by her brother, Charles (Beverly) McGory of Honeoye.  Nephews, Bernard McGory of Honeoye and Brian McGory of Naples. Her great nephew, Kevin McGory and great nieces, Alexandria and Shaylyn McGory.  Also, many dear friends.

Tom was born on October 28, 1931 in Rochester, NY to parents Leslie & Hazel (Isham) Moore Sr.  He graduated from Rush-Henrietta High School in 1947 and was the Salutatorian of his class.  After he graduated Tom served his country in the USMC in the Korean Conflict and was a recipient of a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medal.  He was a Road Patrol Deputy at the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office during the 1970’s and the early 1980’s.  He was a very hard worker all his life, loved all types of animals, enjoyed reading and was a history buff.  He worked on a farm from a young age and through his life continued farming as he always loved it.

Geneseo:   Gary Leo Beachel passed away peacefully at the age of 76 on August 14, 2017. He was predeceased by his brothers Tom and Jack Beachel and step son-in-law Gary Levey. Bristol/Honeoye:  Peacefully on August 10, 2017 at age 75 years.  Predeceased by his parents Gerald & Dorothy Walker, his brother John Walker, and his sisters, Jean Leyland and Shirley Moore.  Survived by his wife of 45 years, Margaret (Brennan) Walker and children; Katie (Seamus Mulligan) Walker of Pittsford and Daniel (Beth) Walker of MA; grandchildren, Ronan & Aoife Mulligan and Thomas Walker.  Also survived by many nieces & nephews and many other loving family members and friends.

Del led a full life of his own design. He graduated with a Forestry Degree from Paul Smith’s College in the Adirondacks before building his dream home with his wife, a log cabin deep in the Bristol hills. He could always be spotted from afar in his yellow truck, with the classic Del Walker’s Landscaping logo. He took great pride in his work, owning and operating his business for 51 years. He also loved giving back to his community, donating his time and efforts to the Honeoye Booster’s Club and the Paul Smith’s Alumni Association. Del oversaw the construction of Honeoye Central School’s soccer fields complete with his trademark Leyland Cypress plantings.

For all his hard work, Del also relished his time off, reserving the last two weeks of July every summer for a visit with his family to his beloved Martha’s Vineyard. And any description of Del would not be complete without mentioning his love for the Boston Red Sox. His summer nights were often defined by how well the Sox played or, how bad the Yankees lost!

His legacy lives on both in Upstate NY and on the Vineyard through his many landscaping projects he completed for friends and family. This includes one particular White Pine tree, planted by his classmates from Paul Smith’s in honor of the infamous White Pine Camp of 1962. Today, Del’s White Pine is huge, the shape of Epcot Center, and stands out from the surrounding forest for its boldness and rugged charm–a personification of Del himself.

Hemlock:  Peacefully on August 9th, 2017, at age 71 years, after a 7 month battle with cancer.  Predeceased by her parents James & Thelma Arnold, her sister Cheryl Arnold, and her brother Ted Arnold.  Survived by her husband of 45 years, Michael Stephens and her sons; Jasen (Carolyn) Stephens of North Collins and Curtis (Andrea) Stephens of Livonia; grandchildren, Frederique, Scarlett, Clare, and Hannah; her sister Dawn Woodburn; many nephews, one niece, and multiple other lives she touched.

Gwen was born April 8^th, 1946 to parents Jim & Thelma Arnold in Livonia.  One of four children, at the age of 6 she lost her 3 year old sister, Cheryl.

Gwen was active in many school clubs, sports and cheerleading at the Livonia High School where she graduated from in 1964.  She loved animals especially horses.  Her father purchased her first horse and she along with her father became members of the prominent drill team “SaddleTramps” who traveled throughout the state performing shows.  She showed her horses and obtained several ribbons participating in Barrel racing, dressage and horsemanship.

Gwen attended Morrisville Ag & Tech college majoring in nursing. The start of her career was at Highland Hospital, followed by Dr. Harriet Schirmer, private practice, Conesus Lake Nursing Home and private duty nursing specializing in Geriatrics.

Gwen loved to read and enjoyed crafting including making Santa’s from drift wood, decorating, making shaker boxes, collecting and refinishing antiques, gardening, woodworking and stitching.  Gwen had the talent to fix most anything along with providing solutions.

Above all, Gwen’s number one priority was her unconditional love for her family and friends.  Her vacations were never spent without her family, she cherished every moment spent with them creating lasting pictures in her mind.

Gwen was a member of the Eastern Star, the Livonia Methodist Church and the Hemlock Fire Department Auxiliary.  Gwen loved people, touching everyone with her smile and kiss on the cheek no matter where she was.  She is leaving a huge hole in this world and will be missed by all those who came in contact with her.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff for the exceptional care given by the Palliative/hospice team 4-1200, Thoracic Care Unit 7-1200, ICU 8-3600 and step down unit 8-1400.  She was truly blessed by all of you!

Ray was born on December 8, 1938 in Rochester, NY to parents Benjamin & Dorothy Berger.

He started to run Berger Plumbing on Hudson Ave. in Rochester, NY at the age of 8 which his father started after the war.  Ray started Commercial Products in 1972 and ran that business until 1997 in which he started his new business in Livonia,  NY.  Livonia Supply Centre.  Ray made many friends over the years and there wasn’t too many plumbing problems that he couldn’t fix.

Ray loved to vacation and spend time with his family and all of his grandchildren.

Ray always wanted to start a Euchre game at every family get together. Ray was always there to lend a hand with his tools to help out with any job.  Ray was famous for giving into his grandchildren when the parents would say “NO”.  Ray enjoyed watching his children and then his grandchildren play sporting events.

Livonia:  July 30, 2017 Scott unexpectedly passed at the age of 52.  Scott is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lori (DeGroat) Bishopp and his sons, Derek and Zach Bishopp, all of Livonia. His parents, Edward & Sandra Bishopp and his brother Troy (Corrine) Bishopp all of Deansboro, NY.  Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Scott began his journey through life in Deansboro, growing up on the farm Scott was always busy. From bailing hay to trapping raccoon he lived in the moment and never left a task unfinished. He enjoyed doing body work on cars and creating knick knacks in the barn. Right there beside him was his brother Troy whom he grew up with, sharing time on the snowmobile to beating each other up over who could drive the tractor. Scott loved his early life and would remember it fondly, sharing memories of his time on the football field to causing shenanigans in the town. Scott’s mother and father, Ed and Sandy, raised him and taught him everything he needed to succeed in life and build lasting relationships. Scott would leave the small town of Deansboro to achieve a degree in electrical engineering. Scott married the love of his life and his other half in Lori. He cherished her and began a life with her that is nothing short of magic. Even though he graduated with an electrical engineering degree his love for all computer programming took root and he soon made a career of it. Scott was never the one to accept being average as he rose through the ranks wherever he worked. Gaining knowledge and spreading that to all he managed. Scott settled down on a farmhouse that will always need work. He loved to tinker and took pride in being a handyman that could fix anything. Getting away from the computer screen Scott enjoyed to fish and spend time with his family. He invested everything he had in his wife and kids, he was a loving husband and father. One of his favorite things to do was take his family on a vacation, every year, to the beach and bask in the sun with those he loved the most. Scott lived with his emotions on his sleeve and wouldn’t be scared to tell you his opinion. He was the first to laugh and the last to leave you when you were in pain. Scott Bishopp is a great man who touched many lives, made many smile, and leaves behind a love that will be felt and cherished for all who knew him.

Anderson.  He was a retiree of Eastman Kodak Company where he was a welder for many years.  Mel was a gentle and kind person, generous and compassionate to others, and had a special connection with animals.  Mel lived in Livingston County for many years and later in Wayne County in Clifton Springs and North Rose.  His hobbies included gardening, sketching art work, and reading about history.  The family wishes to thank Livingston County Hospice team for the care and support provided to Mel and their family.

He attended Chaminade High School in Mineola, NY and later received his degree from the University of Dayton in Ohio. He served his country as a 1st LT. in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Al loved animals especially dogs. When he was young he worked with and raised Great Danes and showed them in Madison Square Garden with his father. He also helped raise and train seeing eye dogs for Guiding Eyes For the Blind and Canine Companion for Independence. He was always committed to the American Red Cross as a blood donor and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Al was a finish carpenter and built his own home where he and Pat raised their family.

Emma was born April 28th, 2003 in Dansville NY, to Carl Petrillo and Jennifer Clapp. She loved her older sister, Lizzie Petrillo. She loved her younger brother, Carl Petrillo.  She was loved by all of her family and so many friends.  She attended Livonia and Midlakes School Districts.

Emma was full of life and affection for all those surrounding her, she was the life of the party, adventurous, curious and always getting into everything. Emma loved listening to music, dancing and singing with the voice of an angel.  All that knew her could see her love of photography in all the selfies she would take.  Emma loved nature, animals, being outside, enjoyed camping and campfires, but she also loved to shop, do her hair, and wear makeup.  She was a very caring person who loved to help others.    When she entered a room, the smile on her face would light up the whole room.  Whatever Emma was doing, she lived her life to the fullest.

Livonia: Laurel passed away at Teresa House on July 12, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer and complications of Parkinson’s. She was predeceased by parents, James and Viola Parsons; sister, Phyllis Gorwaiz; brothers, James, Myron, & Gerald Parsons; nephews, Michael Joy, Charles Spross, & Robert Parsons. Survived by sisters, Marcia and Lynette Parsons of Livonia, Evelyn Spross of Newark, NY, & Sybil Joy of Dansville, NY. Nieces, Elaine, Kathleen, Cynthia, Sherry, Cheryl & Marcia. Nephews, Edward, Adrian, Jeffrey, James, & Brian. Several great & great, great nieces & nephews.

Laurel was born to James & Viola Parsons on March 9, 1933. She grew up in the Village of Conesus where she attended a two room school house through eighth grade. She went to high school in Livonia where she graduated in 1950. Laurel was employed at Champion Products and worked there for 45 years.

Laurel was a member of Lakeville United Church of Christ. For many years she served as a Deacon and sang in the choir. She also worked on committees and helped at fundraisers and receptions at the church.

She enjoyed sewing and, especially, knitting. She made afghans, lap robes, scarves, sweaters and mittens. Many of the sweaters and afghans had designs or pictures on them. Over the years she knit several mittens for the church’s mitten tree. These mittens were given to those in need.

Laurel was blessed with the “gift of wit”. She was well known for her humor and “one-liners”. She spread laughter and joy wherever she went. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

Geneseo: July 10, 2017 at age 84 years. Predeceased by his wife Elaine (Silvestri) Youngers and his grandson Maxwell Neil Youngers. Conesus: Peacefully in her home on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, age 93. Predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Julian.
