Henrietta/Rochester: Larry Coakley passed away peacefully on May 7, 2018 at 71 years old. He was predeceased by his parents Daniel and Pauline Coakley and brother Kenneth. He is survived by his sisters; Barbara (John) Shoemaker, Mary (Mark) Knapp; brothers, David, Robert (Joy), Thomas, and John (Michele). He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins; his Aunt Mary, his Aunt Ruth, and his longtime friend John.
During his younger years, Larry lived a life of wanderlust while traveling all over the U.S. dabbling in an array of colorful jobs. At age 31, he joined the Army where his tours of duty took him to Central America and beyond. As a result, Larry was fluent in many languages, with Spanish being his specialty.
An enigma of a man, a conversation with Larry was always multifaceted, profound, or entertaining as his depth of knowledge was endless and his recall amazing. We will dearly miss those chats.
