Nancy M. Cunningham – November 21, 2022

 

Rush/Livonia: Nancy passed peacefully on November 21, 2022 at the home she shared with her husband John, daughter Lora and son-in-law Dan. She was born on October 13, 1937 in Kane, PA to the late Leon and Martha (Anderson) Eddy. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sons James “Jamie” and Kevin Cunningham & her sister Linda Morrison. Survived by her husband of 65 years, A. John Cunningham; daughters, Tanis (Chris) Edd of Rush, Lora (Dan) Abbott of Rush, and Marcia (Chris) Welker of West Henrietta; grandchildren, Jessica (Will) Pape, Jeremy (Cate) Nettnin, Kirstin Welker, Amanda Edd, Daniel (Amanda) Abbott, Chelsea Abbott (Tanner) , Stone Welker (Shelby); great-grandchildren, Trevor, Heidi, Chance, and Vivien; sister Deanna Keene; brother James (Penny) Eddy; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

This amazing woman was filled with a kindness of spirit and a love of her family. For several years Nancy worked alongside her husband at Integrity Financing, was member of the Lion’s Club and helped anyone who needed her. She was filled with joy when her family was near. She embraced and rejoiced the birth of every grandchild. Now she is reunited with her parents, sister  and sons.

Rachael S. Luckenbach ~ November 21, 2022

Geneseo: At age 64, Rachael passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, NY. She was born in Rochester, NY to Ray McGuire and Shirley Neitz. Survived by two loving daughters, Angie Luckenbach and Audra (Anthony) Phillips, Becky Vasilovski; her grandchildren, Bradlee and Brendon Redman, Ashley (Dean) Whalen, Madison Vasilovski, Mya Vasilovski, Nora Vasilovski, Mackenzie Luckenbach, Trinity Luckenbach, Jersey Kays, Bobbielyn Kays, Dakota Kays, Payton Luckenbach, and her brother Mark (Christine) Neitz along with several nieces, nephews and friends.

Rachael was a loving mother and Grandmother. Her life’s mission was to make sure her grandchildren were all taken care of.

Randolph J. Petersen “Randy” – November 20, 2022

Avon, NY:  November 20, 2022 at age 77.  Randy was born on December 19, 1944 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Randolph and Jean (MacDonald) Petersen.  In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister Carolyn Petersen McDonald.  Survived by brother-in-law Dr.Joseph V. McDonald MD  of Winchester MA; nieces and nephews, Judith (Frank) Aquadro of Hadley MA, Betsy (Steven) Iwanicki of CO, Kitty (Tom) Schneider of Winchester MA, Joseph McDonald of Rochester, and David McDonald of Boston MA; cousin Christine Bonin (Roy Abbott) of Nova Scotia, Canada; also survived by many dear friends.

Randy served honorably in the United States Army from 1965-1967 which included being stationed in Europe.  He attended St. John Fisher College and received his degree is psychiatric nursing.  Randy was a dedicated nurse for many years at the University of Rochester Medical Center.  He was a resident of Avon, NY and was a parishioner at St. Agnes Church.

Joyce Ann Johnstone ~ November 18, 2022

Springwater, NY: At age 76, Joyce passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022 at FF Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, NY. She was born in Rochester, NY to the late Grayson and Gertrude (Ingallis) Smith. Joyce is predeceased by her beloved husband of more than 40 years, Donald D. Johnstone and her brother David Smith.

Joyce was a historian of Springwater and Great Lakes history. She was a homemaker, a cook, enjoyed reading and sewing. Joyce and her husband belonged to the Oliver Tractor Club for many years and they also belonged to Avon Harley Davidson Group. We would like to offer a special thank you to all of her neighbors and friends who were there during this difficult time. May she rest in Heavenly Peace.

Rochester, NY: At 87, Thongkham passed peacefully on November 8th, 2022. He was born in Savannakhet, Laos, on May 7th, 1935, to parents Thitbhang and Phun Chanthabandith. Survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Douangmala Chanthabandith; his children, Dao (Keutmany) Chanthabandith, Tick (Vong) Chanthabandith, Tock (Vanny) Siharath, Toum (Touy) Chanthabandith, Thotsakanh (Sangvane) Chanthabandith, Thal (Tick) Chanthabandith, Nika Chanthabandith; grandchildren, Michell Santana, Jennifer Siharath, Shamitria Tisa, Gary Chansina, Jonathan Siharath, Anouluck Chanthabandith, Pana Chanthabandith, Chantida Chanthabandith, Carina Chanthabandith, Darina Chanthabandith, Sunita Chanthabandith, Malini Chanthabandith, Sulada Chanthabandith; great-grandchildren, Alivia Tisa, Kaiden Santana, and Phoenix Chansina.

Thongkham was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Who enjoyed morning walks with his wife, fishing on the lake, and tending the garden in his backyard. Persevering through his hardships, he always made sure to give to others without expecting anything in return. Behind his tough exterior hid a playful, light-hearted personality that showed an appreciation for the time spent with his family and friends.

James “Jim” A. Kretchmer ~ November 7, 2022

Conesus: At age 70, Jim passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, November 7, 2022 at his home in Conesus. He was born in Rochester, NY to the late Robert and Carolyn Kretchmer. Jim is predeceased by his brother, Robert “Dutch” Wayne. Douglas V. Hatch ~ November 6, 2022

Springwater, NY:  Doug was born in Rochester, New York on January 30th, 1962 to S. Edward and Lois Hatch. Doug passed away at age 60 on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at his home in Springwater, after a long and valiant struggle with Multiple Systems Atrophy (MSA). Doug worked at Kodak for 25 years and retired from the Rochester Water Bureau at Hemlock Lake.

Doug’s love for the outdoors inspired his many epic adventures starting with a cross country bicycle trip, at age 18, from Rush, NY to Colorado. Hunting on horseback in the Rocky Mountains was an incredible gift. His 2014 solo summit of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park was a true accomplishment. He enjoyed downhill skiing, cycling, playing tennis, hunting, stargazing, riding his 1988 BMW motorcycle, and especially car picnics and bird watching with his grandchildren.

Doug was a loyal, loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He was a generous man with an adventurous and courageous spirit. He was always quick to help his family and friends, with so many recipients of his selfless acts of kindness. Doug was proud of his projects at home, including crafting cedar strip canoes, constructing bluestone creations, building the family horse barn, and being our BBQ superhero. He was a gentleman, master craftsman, and true friend.

Doug’s kind, considerate, reliable character was cherished by friends and family alike. His smile and sense of humor could easily light up the room. He had a heart of gold, was extremely loved, and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Kitty K. Hatch; his parents S. Edward and Lois Hatch; his daughters, Kala (Tyler Nagel) Stein and Jessica (Timothy) Lynah; his grandchildren, Avaleigh and Casey Lynah; his siblings, Barry (Annette) Hatch, David (Maria) Hatch, Carol (Kevin Magde) Hatch, and Cheryl Hatch (Frank Johnson); his niece, Deidre (Oscar) Quezada and his nephew, Christopher (Samantha) Basil, and his grandnephews, Joel Dwyer and Joshua Quezada.

William E. Brizzee Sr. “Bill” – November 5, 2022

Livonia:  At age 76, Bill passed on November 5, 2022 at the Vincent House comfort care home in Wayland, NY.  He was born on December 13, 1945 in Canandaigua, NY to the late Elton and Lois (Uhl) Brizzee.  In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his son William E. BrizzeeJr. and his sister Donna Parmele.  Survived by his loving wife Nancy Brizzee; daughter-in-law Christine Brizzee; survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and friends.

Bill was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy.  After graduation he enjoyed working in many different trades like being an electrician, and a private eye. He also enjoyed being creative and building things with his hands and selling donuts at the local flea market. He loved spending time with family and friends.

Paul J. Kast – November 5, 2022

Honeoye:  At age 72, Paul passed on November 5, 2022 at Monroe Community Hospital in Rochester, NY.  He was born on February 23, 1950 in Rochester, NY to the late Charles and Marie (Bremnar) Kast.  In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister Maureen Washburn.  Survived by his wife of 25 years, Sherry (Brink) Kast; sons, Kevin (Becky) Kast of LeRoy and Jason (Maria) Kast of Ionia; grandchildren, Khai, Marcy, and Rose Marie; siblings, Cathy Konrad of Irondequoit and Daniel Kast of Honeoye.  Also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many close friends.

Nothing meant more to Paul than his relationships with his family and friends and he especially enjoyed gathering with them at annual events like the Ionia Tractor Parade and the Dipville Open. Those close to him knew him as a kind, happy, and generous man with an ever-present gleam of optimism in his eye. He made friends everywhere he went, whether traveling on sales trips, going on vacations, or even just meeting new people at the Hemlock Sportsman’s Club, where he was president for a number of years. Lastly, Paul adored his grandchildren with a love that knew no rival.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at 1pm on Saturday, December 10th, at the Hemlock Sportsman’s Club, 4883 S. Ralph “Bob” R. Gobeli ~ November 1, 2022

Conesus Lake: At age 92, Bob passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at the Jewish Home of Rochester. He was born in Schenectady, NY to the late Ralph and Elizabeth (Hanrahan) Gobeli.  Bob is predeceased by his sister, Marilyn (Leo) Halloran and his brother, Murray Gobeli.  Survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Geraldine (Hanna) Gobeli; his daughters, Beth Gobeli and Meg Gobeli; his grandchildren, Anthony (Shannon) Furino, Robert (Selena) Furino and Shannon (Larry) Umbaugh; along with his great grandchildren, Robert Jr., Emily Mae, Bryton, Lola, Francesca, Sean, Addison and Lawrence.  Bob was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and he will be greatly missed.

Bob served his country in the Army during the Korean War.  He was a graduate of Syracuse University with an MBA in Computer Science from RIT.  Retired from Kodak as a Senior Systems Analyst.

Bob enjoyed traveling and being with dear friends.  Some for over 70 years while others for over 40 years with whom he still shared precious time and memories.  A great fan of Syracuse basketball and football while offering the coaches advice in a loud voice.  Most of all he loved and enjoyed his family.

Ronald E. Fox – October 28, 2022

 

 

Honeoye/Livonia:  At age 82, Ronald E. Fox of N. Frost Hollow Road passed peacefully at his home on October 28, 2022.  He was born on October 8, 1940 in South Bristol, NY to the late Leo and Gladys (Perry) Fox.  In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his son Scott Fox and his brother George Fox.  Survived by sons; Ronald Fox Jr. and Shawn Fox both of Naples; granddaughters, Heather (Nicholas) Leone and Holly Fox; great-grandson Nicholas Leone;  sister Bonnie Griswold; daughter-in-law Delores Fox; and sister-in-law Betty Jackson; 3 nieces and 3 nephews, including close nephew Rodney “Monk” Fox.  Also survived by many friends and much loved beagles Bella and Shiloh.

Ron, also known as Uncle Ron and Swampy to many, worked as a machinist at General Motors -Delco for many years.  Ron was very good at his trade and was always willing to take on a project.  He had a passion for gunsmithing, knife making, hunting, fishing, gardening, and being outdoors.  Ron was a lifetime member of the Hemlock Sportsman’s Club and enjoyed being around people.  He enjoyed clambakes, steak roasts, and gun raffles usually making a day of most outings.  Ron always had time for good conversation with friends and having a cold beer in the hollow.

David A. Westfall ~ October 27, 2022

Henrietta: At age 85, David passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. He was born in Rochester to the late Ellen and Ralph “Frank” Westfall. Survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Lelanie J. “Lonnie”  Westfall; his sister, Grace Bunce; his children, Betsy (Jeff Behr) Westfall, Todd (Noreen) Westfall and his grandchildren, Jaryd Tookmanian, Jena Tookmanian, Elise Tookmanian, Allie Tookmanian, Tyler D. Donald R. Moore ~ October 26, 2022

Bloomfield:  Donald “Don” Ray Moore passed away at the age of 82 on Wednesday, October 26th, 2022, at FF Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, NY.  Born in Martin, Kentucky, he was the oldest of 6 children to his late parents Russell and Golda Moore. Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Joyce Marie (Clark) Moore; his daughters, Monica J. (Andrew) Bell and Kimberly A. (Scott) Gibson, his grandchildren, Garrett Gibson, Glen Gibson, Gavin Gibson, Julia Gibson, Jessica Gibson, and Grant Gibson, his siblings, Tilden “Ray” Moore, Grace Ramsden, Sharon “Sue” (Wayne) Gilbert, Flossie (William “Sandy”) McPherson, and Villa Mae “Lou” Jamieson, brother-in-law, Fred (Eileen) Clark, sister-in-law, Jayne (George) Heuring, and several nieces and nephews.

Don proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1965. His tours of duty included Korea and Germany. He was employed for 24 years at General (Railway) Signal Company in Rochester, NY, and retired as Shipping and Receiving Manager. He retired for a second time, from a part-time position of 14 years as an Associate in the Hardware Department at Walmart Supercenter in Canandaigua, NY. Don was a long-time member of The American Legion, Honeoye-Hemlock Post 1278 and enjoyed spending time with military buddies during meetings, dinners, town parades, and other gatherings. In 2019, he was chosen to go on the Honor Flight Rochester – Mission 69, a meaningful experience to him. Don held the position of Ordained Deacon for the New Hope Fellowship Fundamentalist Church in Honeoye/Hemlock, NY for many years. Shortly before his Saviour called him home, Don shared with others that he was ready to go. He delighted in vacationing with his family throughout several U.S. states and Canada. His favorite music was bluegrass and old-time gospel. After full retirement, he shared many fun-loving times with his caring wife, including local senior events and various excursions by tour bus. Don loved his family and his many, many friends. They loved him and he will be greatly missed.

Livonia/Avon:  At age 43, Mistee passed peacefully on October 20, 2022 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.  She was predeceased by her father James A. Mistee had a profound love of her family; it was the greatest reward in her life. The testimony to this was the largest smile she would wear whenever spending time with her family.  Mistee had a special bond with animals and loved them all.  Mistee was a very devoted Special Olympic athlete.  She first attempted volleyball as a skill but found golf to be her niche, proving this by receiving the Gold Medal at the 2011 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Athens, Greece. Mistee was very punctual and committed to several jobs she held through Hilltop Industries.

The family would like to express gratitude to the several doctors and staff at Strong Memorial Hospital.  Specifically Dr. David Nagel, MD, Dr. Michael Hannon, MD. And Dr.  Bryce Aidukaitis, MD.  We would also like to thank her cardiologist Dr. James Eichleberg for his devoted care through many years.

Mary J. Ohle ~ October 14, 2022

Lakeville: At age 90, Mary passed away peacefully on Friday, October 14, 2022. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Paul C. and Mary L. Kleber. Mary is predeceased by her beloved husband, Clarence L. Ohle; and her children, Mary Ann “Pixie” Ohle and William P. Ohle; along with her brother, Paul Kleber. Survived by her children, Susan DiPiazza and James Ohle; and her grandchildren, Heather (Gideon) Kalischer, Shawna Ohle, Eric Ohle, Brian Ohle, Tyler (Lisa) Ohle, Danielle DiPiazza, along with her great grandchildren.

Mary was an amazing woman who dedicated her life to helping others.  She was a nurse for over 60 years and touched many people during every stage of life.

As a long-time member of the St. Matthew’s Faith Community her faith was a guiding light throughout her life and she shared that light with others.

She was a mother to more than just her children and will always be remembered for her sense of humor and infectious smile.  Mary will be greatly missed.
