Springwater, NY: At age 76, Joyce passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022 at FF Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, NY. She was born in Rochester, NY to the late Grayson and Gertrude (Ingallis) Smith. Joyce is predeceased by her beloved husband of more than 40 years, Donald D. Johnstone and her brother David Smith.
Joyce was a historian of Springwater and Great Lakes history. She was a homemaker, a cook, enjoyed reading and sewing. Joyce and her husband belonged to the Oliver Tractor Club for many years and they also belonged to Avon Harley Davidson Group. We would like to offer a special thank you to all of her neighbors and friends who were there during this difficult time. May she rest in Heavenly Peace.

Rest in peace, dear friend, and relative of our family. I am so glad we had time to catch up when I visited Springwater during our vacation this September. Joyce was a faithful friend to all who knew her and she truly loved her community. I will miss her telephone calls and the history we both researched and shared.
I rode with Avon HOG MC with Joyce & Don & others for many years. Very nice couple, always willing to help at our bike runs & fund raising efforts. Very sorry to hear that she passed. Fly free Joyce
