She was born December 24, 1936, in Mendon, NY the daughter of George and Ruth Perkins Reeves. She graduated at the top of her class from Alfred Technical University in 1956 with a degree in business after graduating Valedictorian from Victor Central School in 1954. She married Lee E. Semmler on June 15, 1957, her husband of 36 years. He died April 30, 1993.

She is survived by 4 children, Stacy (Scott) Jesse of Lakeville, Marc (Patti) Semmler of Livonia,, Scott Semmler of Roanoke, TX, and Todd Semmler of Conesus. 5 granddaughters, Jennifer,Amanda, Michelle, Brittany, and Sara. NAPLES: Flora M. Fisher, age 94, passed away peacefully at the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua on Thursday, April 5, 2012, with her family, loving nurses and aides at her side. Flora was born on February 10, 1918, and was the daughter of Harry and Sylvia Ball. Flora was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Frederick Fisher; eight sisters and three brothers. Flora is survived by her daughters Jean F. Seager of Fairport and Lu Stevens of Lund, B.C.; two grandsons, Paul (Katy) Schwingle of Naples and Andrew (Linda) Stevens of Victoria, B.C. She is also survived by two sisters; Anna Marie (Art) Fisher, Mabel Payne, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Flora loved being outside. She treasured the time with her grandsons and when they were young explored with them the wonders of the great outdoors. Flora especially liked walking in the woods looking for wild flowers and animals of any kind. Flora’s other hobbies included refinishing furniture, chair caning, painting on antique trays, ceramics, and knitting.

Flora was the ultimate caregiver – listening, advising and comforting anyone in need. Flora took great joy in being a positive light for others. Flora will be remembered by many as an avid cook whether it was pies, breads, canned goods or delicious meals for anyone who showed up.

A memorial service for Flora will be held on April 28, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Lucey-VanVoorhis Funeral Home, Inc., 301 West Main Street Victor, New York 14564. He graduated from Livonia Central School in 1947, attended Boys State, owned and operated, with his brother Glenn, Wingate Brothers, Big Tree Farm. He served on the Livonia School Board, and the Genesee Valley BOCES Board, and participated actively with the Farm Museum at the Hemlock Fair. He was also a member of the Livonia United Methodist Church.

Doris Emma Werder (Barnard) – March 30, 3012

Honeoye: On August 30, 1920, Doris Emma Barnard was born on the family dairy farm in Hemlock, NY. Upon graduating from Hemlock School, she earned her teaching degree from Geneseo College. During WWII, she enlisted in the Army and became a chauffeur in the Washington DC area. After the war, she became the Hemlock Postmistress. Other professions she undertook included: teach, tutor, and school bus driver. On April 20, 1946 Doris married Howard George Werder and became a dairy farmer’s wife. They enjoyed 57 years together until Howard fell asleep in death on March 17, 2003.

After studying the Bible for many years, Doris symbolized her dedication to Jehovah God by water baptism on July 8, 1972 at the age of 51. She continued steadfast in her love for Jehovah until her death on March 30, 2012. Her spiritual family also came to know her as a gentle, kind person who displayed a positive attitude in all things. Doris had a strong Bible based conviction that after a time of sleep she will awaken with “flesh fresher than in youth” to a Paradise on earth, to live forever without sickness or pain.

Doris is survived by her children: Donna Wood; Robert Werder and his wife, Maureen; David Werder and his wife, Linda; John Werder and his wife, Judy; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one sister, Grace Simons; and two sisters-in-law, Jane and Gerry Barnard. Her brother, Howard and Ralph predeceased her.

Doris loved Jehovah God, her husband, her family. She will be missed.

The family extends a very grateful thank you to the Ontario-Yates Hospice for all of the compassion & care given to Doris and her loved ones.
