Henrietta/Hemlock: Janet passed peacefully on June 2, 2018 at age 68. Predeceased by her parents Robert & Ruth Mallory and her sister Susan Mallory. Rowland E. Smith “Ronnie” – June 2, 2018

Ocala, FL/Livonia, NY: It is with great sadness that the family of Rowland E. Smith (Ronnie) announces his passing on June 2, 2018 at the age of 98.

Ronnie was predeceased by Doris Brennan Smith and is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Phyllis Fischer Smith. He is survived by his children Jo VanDyck and Jane Smith. Ronnie will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren; Jeffrey and Emileigh, Mark and Suzanne and Lisa Chod and his great-grandchildren, Maris, Berkley, Rhett, Collins, and Nolan.

Ronnie actively participated in life. He loved and served his community and country. He was a World War II veteran serving in the US Army from 1940-1945. He was an owner of the Livonia Dairy, a Rotarian, a member of the Methodist Church, the American Legion and the Geneseo Country Club.

Ronnie will be buried with military honors on July 14, 2018 at 3 pm in the Union Cemetery in Livonia, NY. We will celebrate his life at the Livingston County Country Club after the graveside service. Terry G. Peck Jr. “TJ” – May 31, 2018

Livonia: Passed peacefully on May 31, 2018, at age 31, surrounded by family and friends. Survived by his mother Kathy Perovich of Macedon and his father Terry G. Peck Sr. of Conesus; sisters, Misty Banach (Spencer Hess) of Macedon and Amber Klimczak (Michael Willey Jr.) of Batavia; nieces & nephews; Jordyn & Bryana Soback, Shayenne & Harley Banach, Phoenix East, Spencer Jr., McKinzi, and Jaden Hess. TJ was born on June 11, 1986 in Dansville, NY to parents Kathleen Perovich and Terry G. Peck Sr. He graduated from Livonia High School in 2004 and later attended Mohawk Valley Community College where he earned a welding degree. TJ was an EMT for many years with Livonia Ambulance and always considered Livonia his home. TJ’s love of life will continue even after his passing as he was an organ donor. His passion was always helping others before himself.

Robert S. Barrett “Bob” – May 30, 2018

Lakeville, NY: Passed peacefully on May 30, 2018 at age 92. Predeceased by his parents George and Isabel (Shannon) Barrett and his brothers William, Eugene, and Frederick Barrett. Survived by his children; Randall Barrett of Conesus, Suzanne (Patrick) Beattie of Rush, and Kevin (Michelle) Barrett of Lakeville; grandchildren, Mary, Kate, Ryan, Meghan, Malaina, Andrew and Kimmy; great-grandchildren, Teagan, Taryn, Elsie and Clayton. Also survived by brothers; John (Jane), Arthur, Donald (Gayle) and Norman Barrett, former wife Jeanne Barrett, many nieces & nephews, cousins, and friends.

His parents were George and Isabel Barrett. He was born in York, NY, the second of eight boys and he graduated from Caledonia High School. He entered the Merchant Marines in 1945 and served in the Coast Guard from 1950 – 1953. He married Jeanne Fischer in 1951 and moved to Henrietta, then went to work at Rochester Gas and Electric and also worked part time for Mohawk/Allegheny/Airborne Air Freight. He loved to sing and was active in the Henrietta Players theater group. He moved to Conesus Lake in 1979. After retirement he moved to Apoka, FL but spent summers in Lakeville, NY. He loved to travel and to spend time with his family. One of his favorite summer past times was visiting Vitale Park.

Charles T. Patanella Jr. – May 26, 2018

Geneseo: May 26, 2018 at age 86. Many in the community would remember his 35 year career as a Livonia school teacher or his military service as a Colonel in the Army.  He is predeceased by his parents Charles and Margaret Patanella and several brothers and sisters. Jean Betty Whitford (Honan) – May 23, 2018

Lakeville: Jean passed peacefully surrounded by her family on May 23, 2018 at age 94. Predeceased by her husband Ted Whitford, daughter Linda Kurtz, son Mark Whitford, grandsons Chris VanBuskirk & David Burns, sister Jane Honan, and brother Robert Honan. Jean was born on November 20, 1923 in Rochester, NY to parents Thomas & Helen (Klink) Honan. She married Theodore W. Whitford on March 10, 1944 and they celebrated over 48 years together before he passed in 1992. They started their family in Syracuse later moving to Rochester then settling in Lakeville in 1968 where they raised their 10 children. Her family was everything and to them she was their “Queen.”

Elizabeth Ann (Dunigan) Amidon “Betty” – May 20, 2018

Rochester/Ocala, FL: Elizabeth “Betty” Ann (Dunigan) Amidon, 88, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2018.

The youngest of four children of Alice (Seccombe) and Francis Dunigan, Betty spent much of her life in Rochester, NY. She married the love of her life, Frank James Amidon, in 1955 upon his return from his service in Korea. Suddenly widowed only seven years later, she dedicated herself to raising her three small children.

Betty moved to Ocala, Florida and spent 30 years enjoying cruises and lunches with her friends. Her sense of humor and love of life is remembered and cherished by friends and family.

Betty is predeceased by her parents, her husband Frank, sister Mary Murray and brother James Dunigan. She is survived by her son Daniel of Wilmington, NC, daughter Helen (Bill Murtha) McDermott of Livonia and daughter Carol (Ed Sharkey) Amidon of Rochester; grandchildren, Molly (Jim) Wanzenried, Kevin (Kristina) McDermott, Kelly (Rob) Turner; step grandchildren, Colin (Lisa) Murtha, Ryan Murtha, Christopher (Kat) Murtha and Caitlin Murtha. She took great joy in her great-granddaughters Alice, Ella, Olivia and Isabell Wanzenried. She is also survived by her sister, Alice (Dunigan) Bernhard and many nieces and nephews.

Livonia: On May 17, 2018, at age 76, Lou went to heaven to be with all the family & friends that went before him. He is predeceased by his parents Gilbert & Esther Faulkner and his brother Kenneth. Casey was born on May 2, 1986 in Rochester, NY the second son to parents Karen and Brian Moran. He graduated from LeRoy Central School in 2004. Casey ran track and played football while in high school. He would go into school early to help teachers and even help in the cafeteria. Casey loved to be outdoors, camping, and always enjoyed a good campfire. He loved to take the four-wheeler on rides and loved all types of animals. He lived in San Diego, California for many years and helped take care of his aunt, whom he loved dearly. Casey had a big heart and would help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.

Ann was born on March 29, 1975 in Rochester, NY the daughter of Michael & Dorothy (Hill) Pribanich. She attended Honeoye Falls-Lima High School graduating with the class of 1993 and went on to graduate in 1997 from the Rochester Institute of Technology. In 1998 Ann went to work at Diamond Packaging in Henrietta, NY where she was still presently working. A special thank you to everyone there for all the support she has received. The family is so thankful and appreciative of all they did for Ann.

Ann married Daniel D. Marusiak Jr., the love of her life, on October 13, 2001. They first had their son Michael and then their daughter Jessica. Two wonderful children that that mean the world to their entire family.

Lawrence Coakley “Larry” – May 7, 2018

Henrietta/Rochester: Larry Coakley passed away peacefully on May 7, 2018 at 71 years old. He was predeceased by his parents Daniel and Pauline Coakley and brother Kenneth. He is survived by his sisters; Barbara (John) Shoemaker, Mary (Mark) Knapp; brothers, David, Robert (Joy), Thomas, and John (Michele). He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins; his Aunt Mary, his Aunt Ruth, and his longtime friend John.

During his younger years, Larry lived a life of wanderlust while traveling all over the U.S. dabbling in an array of colorful jobs. At age 31, he joined the Army where his tours of duty took him to Central America and beyond. As a result, Larry was fluent in many languages, with Spanish being his specialty.

An enigma of a man, a conversation with Larry was always multifaceted, profound, or entertaining as his depth of knowledge was endless and his recall amazing. We will dearly miss those chats.

Max E. Thomas ~ May 5, 2018

Livonia: Passed peacefully on May 5, 2018 at age 92. Survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Marjorie and children; Bonny (Cork) VanDerMeid of Livonia, Debbie (Ron) Baker of Fairport, and Larry (Sue) Thomas of Honeoye; grandchildren, J. Scott VanDerMeid (Dr. Shinji Sato), Brent Baker, Justin Baker, Christopher Thomas and Michael (Alisha) Thomas; brother Alvin (Francis) Thomas, several nieces & nephews, and many friends in the Livonia Community.

Max, a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict, worked as a business teacher, and as a guidance counselor before helping to start the BOCES Charles G. May Occupational Center in Mt. Morris. After working at the Center for 16 years, he retired as its Director of Occupational Education in 1982. He has also contributed many hours of community service over the years and has been active as a volunteer in Rotary and the Methodist Church of Livonia. Max was also member of Phi Beta Kappa. As part of his life philosophy of bringing people together, he started the international program in Livonia.

Honeoye: May 5, 2018 at age 61 years. Donna is survived by her loving husband, James E. Swingle; her children, Kenneth (Holly) Swingle of Canadice and Vanessa Blackmer of Livonia. 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. Her father, Herman Zobel of Clifton Springs. Ronald J. White – April 27, 2018

Livonia: April 27, 2018 at age 56 years. Survived by his wife Amber Golding-White; daughter LeeAnn White; twin sons Ayden and Cameron White; sister Carol (Barry) Bartlett; brother Dick (Betty) White; nephew Chris (Pam) Bartlett and family; niece Corie Bartlett and family; and nephew Chad (Tricia) White and family.

Ron was born on January 24, 1962, in Canandaigua, New York. He was the son of the late Glenn and Ann White. Ron worked as the parts manager for Hawk Frame and Axle for the past 16 years. Ron’s hobbies included fishing, John Deere tractors, and RC racing. Everyone at the RC track called Ron “Dad.” Most importantly, Ron loved his children and enjoyed spending time with them. He was deeply loved by his family and friends, and will be greatly missed.

Alan was born in Canandaigua, NY, May 24, 1949 the son of Frederick and Jean (White) Lane. He received his Associates Degree from Alfred Tech and enlisted in the Navy, June 15, 1970. In December of 2017, he retired from Velmex in Bloomfied, NY where he worked for 44 years prior to retirement as both a machinist and a salesman. He also was a member of the Conesus Lake Sportsmens Club in Lakeville.

Arlene E. Finch – April 26, 2018

Conesus/Camden, NY: Arlene passed peacefully on April 26, 2018 at age 92. She was predeceased by her husband of 73 years, Clifford J. Finch, her parents James & Mabel (Dodge) Parker, and her sister Helen Head and brothers Howard, Bert, Doug, Rollin, and James Parker.

Arlene is survived by her son Stephen Finch (Fran Whitney), daughter-in-law Mary J. Finch, granddaughters Reneè Finch (Tim FInster) and Erica Edwards, grandson-in-law Robert Edwards, her sister Bernice Lozoponi, her great-grandsons Chase and Sawyer Finster and her sisters-in-law Maxine and Kay Finch; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Arlene was a kind and compassionate woman known for her fiery personality and her exceptional cooking. She loved her family and cared for them with a passion, including the furry members. Arlene excelled at gardening, crocheting, and crafts, and was known for her love of coffee, and Genny Light. She spent many hours sitting and observing nature and some of her fondest memories occurred in the deserts of Arizona. Arlene E. Finch will live on as a bright light in the memories of all who knew her.

Jeanne M. Barrett – April 25, 2018

Conesus: Peacefully on April 25, 2018 at age 72. Predeceased by her parents Robert & Ruth Barrett and brother-in-law Richard Giaver. Survived by her sister Lynne Giaver of Conesus; ‘nephew’ Robert (Coleen) Baldino of Spencerport and their children; Megan (Josh), Kyrstin, and Michael. Also survived by her many friends at the Lakeville United Church of Christ.

Jeanne worked at Eastman Kodak as a Production Technician for several years and then worked as a Nurses Aid at various Nursing Homes in the region, most recently being the Avon Nursing Home in Avon, NY. Jeanne also developed a passion for designing and making crafted jewelry, necklaces and earrings to sell and gift.

A Service to Celebrate Jeanne’s Life will be held on Saturday, May 12th, 11am at the Lakeville United Church of Christ, 5687 Big Tree Road, Lakeville, NY 14480. Dorothy M. Krause “Dottie” – April 23, 2018

Lakeville: Passed peacefully at her home on April 23, 2018 at age 88. Predeceased by her husband Edward “Grumpy” Krause. Survived by son Bob (Michele) Krause of Livonia, stepson Edward (Dorothy) Krause of Henrietta, and stepdaughters; Joan Jobes of Rochester and Lois Reese of West Henrietta. Also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dottie was born in Rochester, NY on October 30, 1929. She married Edward “Grumpy” Krause and they lived on Conesus Lake for many years. Dottie was a retiree of Gannett Newspapers where she worked for over 20 years. After she retired she was very active in the community and volunteered in many ways, including being a foster grandparent at the Livonia Central School, helping the disabled at the Doty Building in Geneseo, NY, serving as a greeter at St. Matthew Catholic Church, and she was a long time member of the Harrison-Lee American Legion Post Auxiliary.

Friends may call on Friday, April 27th, from 4-7pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Rte 15 & 20A, Livonia, NY where her funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 28th, at 2pm. Burial to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Shelly Road, Livonia. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Livingston County Hospice, 2 Murray Hill Drive, Mt.
