Greece: Passed away peacefully in her sleep at her daughter’s home in Livonia on Monday March 27, at the age of 94. Helen was born in Charlotte on February 8, 1923, the youngest of Carl and Bertha (Rossbach) Phillips’ three children. A lifelong resident of Rochester, she lived nearly her entire life within a mile or so of her birthplace. She was the cherished wife of George A. Baron, with whom she shared 56 happy years of marriage, until his death in 2009. Together they raised their four daughters in Greece and had a long and interesting retirement, filled with travel, volunteering and family life. Helen was a Girl Scout leader for many years and was an avid and accomplished seamstress and quilter, who enjoyed doing service projects with the Sewer’s Guild. She was a proud graduate of Charlotte High, Class of 1942, and spoke often of her high school job scooping custard at Abbott’s in Charlotte, ‘when it was just a nickel’. She was also proud of her German heritage, her parents both being hard-working immigrants. She was an environmentalist, long before anyone used that word, piling the family station wagon with old newspapers and hauling the load downtown for recycling, because she wanted the world to be a better place for her children. She valued friendship above most other things in her life, frequently reminding her girls that ‘you can never have too many friends’, and encouraging them ‘to make a little friendship’ if they ever noticed someone on the periphery of a group. It was this philosophy that led her to grab wallflower, George Baron, by the hand at a dance and propel him onto the dance floor with her. Much of her life was motivated by kindness and a desire to do good for others, and her daughters hope that in some small ways they have carried this lesson into their own lives as her most important legacy.

In addition to her husband, Helen was pre-deceased by her beloved siblings Elsie and Carl Phillips. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to Helen’s loving caregivers, Tory Reome, Amy Trescott, Karen Moran and Katie Marr, who helped to make her final months happy ones.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy Baron and Neil Osterweil of Holliston, Massachusetts, Patricia Baron-Mills and Mark Mills of Livonia, Susan Baron and Eric Cosman of Honeoye and Pamela and Jeff Marti of Olympia, Washington as well as ‘daughter number five’, Mary Ellen O’Neill of Churchville; grandchildren George and Byron Osterweil, Beth (Mills) Spence and husband, Dan; Ben, Hannah and Hunter Mills, Dana Marti and Katie Cosman, great-grandchildren Ryder Spence and Colton Mills, her sister-in-law Flora Barber and five nieces and nephews.

Most of her time was spent in service to others at a restaurant in Lima, that she owned with her husband George. When she was not busy at the restaurant, Helen enjoyed playing bingo, cards and board games, traveling, and sharing a laugh or a story with family and friends. She always looked for the good in others, and had a positive outlook on life, no matter what life may have brought her way. She was an inspiration for others to share those same qualities.

Livonia: Unexpectedly on March 22, 2017 at age 66 years. Predeceased by his father William W. Sawyer. Chuck lead a very adventurous life. It started with him enlisting in the Marine Corp at the young age of 17. Soon after, he was shipped off to Vietnam where he completed two tours as a sniper. Chuck was also an extra in the 1970’s movie “ Patton”. He retired as a STAFF Sgt. After serving 17 years in the Army. Upon his retirement he was able to devote his time to his love of plants, animals and reading. Chuck lived his life with the foundation of God, Country, Corps and family.

She was a mother, a sister, a daughter, and a friend, and in each of these roles, her love knew no bounds. She was happiest when she was exploring all that nature had to offer in the great outdoors, surrounded by the souls who loved her most—those who she referred to as her “earthbound angels.”

Cohocton: March 13, 2017 at age 62 years. Predeceased by his father Anthony Renzoni. Survived by his wife of 34 years, Naomi Renzoni and children; Emily Renzoni of SC and Zachary (Taylor) Renzoni of Corning, and his dog Bruno. Richard was born on September 10, 1954 in Middletown, CT. He spent his childhood between CT and NH, eventually moving to New York State viewing it as an opportunity to provide his family a better future. Rich found work in Greece, NY at Acro Industries where he continued to work until he was no longer able. Rich worked hard every day to make sure his family that he loved so dearly were always provided for; of which, his family will be forever indebted to him. Richard, often known as Dickie or Sunshine and most importantly Dad to those closest to him, was always willing to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends alike. The inherited skills from Richard’s father Tony Renzoni gave him the uncanny knowledge base and ability to perform any type of odd job you may come across. Rich enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with anyone willing to listen to him and his opinionated ways. All those he encountered will miss his voice, his laugh, and his opinions more deeply then could be expressed in words. During this time of grief and loss family and friends of Dickie’s will forever cherish the memories we have with him. He was a tough love kind of man who rarely showed how he felt, but, those who loved him knew how much he cared through his actions. Richard would never have hesitated about volunteering to concrete a basement for a neighbor, or in helping a friend to work on their car or plow their driveway so they could get to work. Dickie often did this without asking for favors or anything in return and he always took the time to help the people he cared about in the best way he knew how. Richard will be remembered for many good deeds like this; surely, too many to count. The future ahead will be a lonely one without him and his generosity towards others. We, his family, hope to see all those who are mourning him at the remembrance picnic which will be held in his honor and announced at a later date this spring.

Nancy loved animals but most of all loved her devoted K9 Babygirl. For many years Nancy was on both bowling and softball leagues and made many friends. In addition to working for the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group she also ran her own window washing business called Total View Window Cleaning.

Livonia: Went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2017 at age 90 years. Survived by his wife of 66 years, Coyla Larson and children; Karen Ursel of Conesus, Deborah (Noel) Cisneros of WI, Eric (Sarah) Larson of MN, and John (Jane) Larson of Corning; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and his sisters; Marilyn (David) Noreen, Margaret (Bob) Maitlen, and Suzie (Buddy) Waterman. George was born in Lake City, MN on February 18th, 1927. He lived on the family farm in Stockholm, WI until 1936, when the family moved to Lafayette, IN. He served his country in the US Navy at Great Lakes Naval Station in 1945-46, then attended Purdue University, where he earned his degree in Chemistry, and met his wife, Coyla. They married in 1950, the year he also started his career with Kodak.

George and Coyla developed a productive garden on their land in Livonia, where they retired in 1986. Never one to be idle, George promptly started the next chapter of his life, serving as a lay minister and dedicated member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Geneseo, NY. George loved his wife and children, and over the years cherished many special times with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be remembered as a faithful servant to his family and to his God.

Conesus Lake: February 25, 2017 at age 77 years. Predeceased by his parents Bernard & Orlina Fischer and his wife, Marie Fischer. It’s difficult to reduce 77 years of life to a few words. His roots were deep and relationships were long. He had one wife, Marie. He had one employer, Xerox. He had one house that he built on Conesus Lake. He didn’t embrace change but at the same time seemed to fill his life with enough variety to keep it interesting.

His interest included Fishing, Hunting, NASCAR (Jeff Gordon), the weather, Buffalo Sabres, New York Yankees, and he suffered with much of Ohio as a diehard Cleveland Browns fan. However, all of those interests took a back seat to anything that his grandchildren were involved in. There was an unmistakable tone of joy within his voice and laugh when he was relaying stories of something one of the grandkids had done. Through the lives of his grandchildren, he experienced athletic success, enjoyed the chemistry and unique bond that comes with identical twins, academic success, military service, and countless other triumphs.

“Pops” was a good friend to many and every one of his friends has a memory full of laughs or funny stories. He knew what was right but never forced his way of thinking on others.

Henrietta: February 15, 2017 at age 84 years,She was born in Rochester, NY, on October 24, 1932 the daughter of the late Albert and Mildred (Balling) Beideck. She was the wife of the late Lester G. Stanzel whom she married August 9, 1958 in St. Philip Neri Church in Rochester.

She was the mother of Mrs. Sharon (Francis) Pratt of Hemlock,NY and the mother of the late David J. (Tracey) Stanzel of Henrietta, NY.

Grandmother of Julie (Matthew) Gross of Brockport, Jason W. Pratt (Kelli Varden) of Springville, Andrew Pratt of Hemlock, and Sophia Pratt of Hemlock, children of Sharon and Francis.

Grandmother of Kimberly Wilbur, daughter of David and Tracey.

Great-grandmother of Brianna Marchetti, Tim Elphick, Michael Marchetti, and Jamie Marchetti, children of Julie.

She was a graduate of Our Lady of Mercy High School and member of Good Shepherd Church.

Calling hours were held on Sunday, February 19th, at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Funeral Home, Route 15 & 20A , 21 Big Tree St. Livonia where funeral services were held immediately following hours. Interment, Holy Sepluchre Cemetery, Rochester. Bloomfield: Joseph G. Chipp, age 65, February 11, 2017. Predeceased by his parents Sam & Fern Chipp, son Matthew. Survived by wife Sheryl, daughter Amy Chipp,  grandchildren;  Mason, Aaliyah and Amaya.
