Lillian J. Williams, 78 years, of Burch Hill Road, Canadice died Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at FF Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua. She was born December 20, 1931 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the daughter of Paul and Briget Nash Gascon. She was predeceased by her husband, Leon Gascon in 1983.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Melissa) Williams of Canadice, 2 grandchildren, Michael (Christine ) Williams and Nichole (Joshua) Torrey. 3 great grandchildren, Jenna Torrey, Haley Torrey, Liam Williams. Carl K. Hillyard, 78 years of Honeoye Gardens, died March 30, 2010. He was born May 15, 1931 in Rochester, NY son of Lester and Hazel Foote Hillyard. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Honeoye-Hemlock American Legion. Carl was employed for 23 years with the Rochester City School District, retiring in 1978.

Marjorie R. Korndoerfer, 87 years, of Cluny Point , Conesus Lake (Lakeville) died Sunday, March, 28, 2010 at her residence. She was born October 28, 1922, in Rochester, NY the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fischer. Marje was a graduate of Monroe High School in Rochester and retired from the Livonia Central School District where she had been employed for several years. She was a member of the former St. Joseph Church in Livonia and a current member of St. Matthews Church. She also was a long time member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lakeville Fire Dept. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry in 1987.

George A. Ward of Route 20A, in Bristol, died Monday March 15, 2010 at the Hospeace House in Naples, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Canandaigua, NY September 4, 1939 the son of George and May Doty Ward. A life long resident of the Bristol Honeoye area, George was very much involved with his communities. A former Bristol Town Supervisor, he also was a member of the Honeoye Masonic Lodge, the Honeoye United Church of Christ, Ducks Unlimited, Honeoye Gun Club, and the Honeoye Fish and Game Club. He owned operated Wards Lumber in Honeoye for many years along with many other business ventures. George married his wife the former Verna Marble on December 2, 1961. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Ronald Ward.

Lillian Traynor Kurtz, 97 years, formerly of Livonia and an 8 year resident of California, died March 11, 2010 in Mission Viejo, California. She was born on January 21, 1913 in Groveland, NY. She was the second child of James A. Traynor and Jessie Craig Traynor.

Lillian spent the majority of her 97 years of life in New York State. She lived between Groveland and Nunda during her early years. She was a graduate of Nunda High School. In December, 1937 Lillian married Vincent Kurtz. They owned and worked farms in Cohocton NY,then, Livonia NY.

Lillian’s faith in God was her guide throughout her life. She was a member of the Catholic religion. Lillian was a registered Democrat and served as an election inspector in election districts in the town of Livonia.

Lillian was a seamstress. She could sew and tailor clothes to perfection. She was an amazing quilter. She could knit and crochet without missing a stitch. Lillian had a ‘green thumb’ recognized by the beautiful flowers she grew. Lillian was an avid reader and enjoyed a variety of literature. Lillian enjoyed dancing.

Lillian was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Vincent in February 2002. She is survived by her children Rita Kurtz of Newport Beach, CA, William (Barbara) Kurtz of Livonia, Sally Roberts of Killington, VT, Jim (Linda) Kurtz of Irvine, CA, Ann (Robert) Glennon of Lake Worth, FL, Karen Kurtz-West (Daniel) of Rochester, Debra (James) Stewart of Murfreesboro, TN, 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren. Cousin Roberta Shores Grover of Nunda; nieces and nephews.

Lillian worked as a server for many years at the former Foster’s Restaurant in Avon, NY. She developed many friendships at her job and was affectionately know as “Aunt Lill”.

Frank J. Riedman of Livonia and Rochester, passed away March 11, 2010. He is predeceased by parents Susan and Frank J. Riedman Sr., and sister Anne Heneghan. Frank was born in 1933 in Rochester, N.Y., and attended Aquinas, before graduating from the College of the Holy Cross. He joined the family business and rose to VP, Riedman Insurance. He served on many boards including: President of the New York State Agents Association, President of the Monroe Community Hospital Foundation, Chairman of the Livingston County Water Authority, and a board member of Catholic Charities of Livingston County and the Rochester Area Community Foundation. Frank was an avid sailor, who had a great wit, boundless generosity and a lifetime love of Conesus Lake.

Linda Graduated from Churchville – Chili High School in 1972 and later her career led her into work as a home caregiver for many years in Arizona and New York. She moved to Lakeville in 2006 and enjoyed her friends and family here. She was a true animal lover and was involved in the humane society in Livingston County and formerly in the Humane Society of Central Arizona.

John G. Finster, 80, of Linden St. Livonia, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born in Westerly, RI, October 1, 1929 the son of Joseph and Agnes Carey Finster. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and belonged to the Harrison-Lee American Legion Post. John was an avid Boston Red Sox and Notre fan, who enjoyed sports at all levels, and especially in later years watching his grandchildren participate in their games.

He served his community in many ways including being on the Livonia Village Board, a member of St. Matthews Church, longtime time teacher and coach at Livonia Central School. He also was installed as a member of the Livingston County Wrestling Hall of Fame and the Livonia Athletic Hall of Fame.

John is survived by his wife Mariellen; children, Bob Finster of Livonia, Tom (Beth) Finster of Honeoye, MaryPat (Andy) English, Anne (Bill) Horan, Maureen (Michael) Buskey, all of Livonia; 13 beloved grandchildren; sister Mary Sauer of Westerly, RI; nieces and nephews.
