Edgar “Ed” Krause, 72 years, of Main Street Hemlock died Wednesday March 3, 2010 in Williamsville, NY after a long illness. He was born in Wellsboro, PA, July 21, 1937 the son of Neil and Mabel Krause. He was a US Air Force Veteran and retired from the Sears Roebuck Company in Rochester. He was a member of the Hemlock Methodist Church and a former member of the East Avon Fire Department. Ed was a member of the NRA who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing.

Ed is survived by his wife, Alice; children, Adrienne (Andy) Kieffer of West Sparta, Neil Krause of Seneca Falls, Aaron Krause of Hemlock; 3 grandchildren; mother, Mabel Krause of Blossburg, PA; brothers, Neil (Dorothy) Krause of Blossburg, PA, Allen (Mary Ann) Krause of Greece, NY, Bill (Judy) Krause of Blossburg, PA; nieces and nephews.

Eleanor M Semmler, 98years, of Wildbriar Drive, Livonia and long time Florida resident, died Monday, March 1, 2010 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, NY. Mrs. Semmler was born October 11, 1911 in Rochester, NY, daughter of Charles and Ellnore Parr Merzke. Prior to her retirement she was employed by the former Schnorr Real Estate Company in Webster, NY. Eleanor was also a member of Gah-a-yan-duke #566 Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was predeceased by her husband, Albert.

She is survived by grandchildren, Stacy Semmler (Scott) Jesse of Livonia, Marc E. (Patricia) Semmler of Livonia, Scott E (Susan) Semmler, and Todd L. Semmler. Great-grandchildren, Jennifer L. Jesse, Amanda R. Jesse, Brittany A. Semmler, Michelle L. Jesse, and Sara Ashlee Semmler. A sister, Doris Mae Merzke (Bob) Parvin of Vero Beach, FL. Nieces and nephews.

Conesus Lake: March 1, 2010 at age 85 years. Predeceased by husband Richard S. Beach in 2005 and her parents Rev. Ernest & Ruth Sanderson. Survived by children: Ned (Cyndi) Beach of Boonville, MO, Cee Cee (Craig) Nelson of Lakeville, NY, and Nancy (Tom) Kimble of Franklin, WV. Grandchildren; Ned (April) Beach Jr. of Granger, IN, Lucynda (Gerry Jr.) West of Boonville, MO, Becky (Elliott) Antal of Charlotte, NC, Brandon Nelson of Lewis Run, PA, Jenny Kimble and Matt Kimble both of Morgantown, WV. Also two great-grandchildren: Lane and Emma West.

Mary graduated from Pavilion High School and continued her education at Albany Teachers College with a degree in math. She then received her master’s degree from SUNY Geneseo in English. Mary substituted, tutored, and taught at the Livonia School District for many years and was also on the Livonia Public Library Board. She was a sports enthusiast and loved helping in many ways as a fan and supporter. She was a longtime resident of Conesus Lake where she spent time doing the things she enjoyed including reading and crossword puzzles. Mary also took pleasure in swimming, canoeing, and teaching all her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews to swim. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Livonia: Michele A. Keihl, 48, years of Big Tree St. Livonia, NY died suddenly, Friday February 26, 2010 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, after being stricken at home. She was born August 21, 1961, in Rochester, the daughter of Michael and Helen Sawyer Aquilina. Michele did her undergraduate studies at SUNY at Geneseo and then went on to St. John Fisher to receive her Masters Degree. She was employed as a speech patholigist at the School of the Holy Childhood in Rochester. Her interests included gardening, biking and traveling.

Kimberly Ellen Szczesniak, 29 years, of Groveland, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to nearly every one she met, passed gently into the hands of her Lord, February 25, 2010. Kim carried her childhood characteristic of lively likeability through adulthood, always making time for a heartfelt- or humorous- conversation. Her children, Daniel 5, and Gabriella “Gabby”, 3, posses that same twinkle, and her family will forever help them remember how much she loved them and enjoyed seeing them grow.

Kim perpetually strove to be her best in all of her roles, as mother and family member and in her professional life. Not only was she a dedicated employee at Rochester Gas and Electric for seven years, she frequently looked for added responsibility. Kim was quick with compassionate advice and a confidant to those in her extended family,the Szczesniaks, and so many others. What she did not fully realize,– and we hope she has discovered now — is that she was all we ever wanted her to be.

We miss her with unfathomable depth, and will continue to embody her spirit in each of our own ways.

Daniel A. Dragone, age 83 years of Main Street Livonia, formerly of Rochester, died Sunday February 21, 2010 at his home. He was born in Rochester, NY March 12, 1926 son of Stephen and Mary Calderalla Dragone. He was a retired truck driver from Weyerhaeuser Company in Rochester. A Veteran of WWII, he fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was a member of the 12th Armored Division. Daniel previously resided in the 10th Ward where he belonged to The Holy Rosary Church; he was scout leader of the Massawepie Troop 101 and a member of St. Matthew Church in Livonia.

Myron B. “Ron” Shaw, Ph.D., 79 years, of Geneseo died Saturday evening, February 13, 2010 at the home of his son and daughter-in-law. He was born June 30, 1930, in Canton, Ohio the son of Forest P. and Genevieve Meredith Shaw. Ron was predeceased by his wife Doris and his daughter Barbara Stafford. He was a graduate of Kent State University and received his Doctorate in Speech and Communications from the University of Michigan. Following his education, he started a 33 year career at SUNY Geneseo. He also served his country in the US Air Force from 1954 through 1958. An avid bridge player, he belonged to groups in Geneseo and Dansville. He also enjoyed golfing at area golf courses including Livingston Country Club and Hidden Acres. A former member of the Lakeville United Church of Christ, he served in many different positions there. A very committed Rotarian, he belonged through the years to Geneseo Rotary Club, Gates-Chili Rotary Club and the Penfield Rotary Club. In earlier years, he also served on the Board of Directors at the Interfaith Center at SUNY Geneseo. Ron was also a diehard Cleveland fan, and watched the Indians, the Browns and the Cavaliers whenever he had the opportunity.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Judy Shaw of Mount Morris; his son-in-law Daniel Stafford of Avon, 4 grandchildren, Joshua and Jordan Shaw; Jeffrey and Matthew Stafford. Also, his sister, Frances McCoy of Sarasota, FL., and cousin Peggy Shaw of Canton, Ohio.

Walter W. Forshee, Sr., 91, of Livonia, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 30, 2010, with his loving wife at his side. He was born in Whitney Point, NY February 17, 1918 son of Jesse and Carolyn Watts Forshee.

Walter will be remembered by all as a caring, competent, independent and hardworking man, an example to all who knew him. He graduated from Cornell University in 1942 and worked in agriculture related fields all his life. He valued education and made sure his children were given the opportunity to attend college. He was a man of faith, courage and high moral standards. He lived his life by example and to the end, examined his decisions carefully. He loved reading, baseball, working, friends and travel.

He is survived by his wife, Vesta; children and step-children, Walter, Jr. (Marian) Forshee, Suzanne (Richard) Zitrick, Sharon Forshee, Elizabeth (Ralph) Arena, Wayne (Cindy) Forshee, David (Val) Forshee, Carol (Doug) Acomb, Greg Shay, Lance and Sue Shay. 20 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. She was employed as a waitress at several area restaurants and Champion Knitwear in Livonia prior to retirement.

Honeoye: Richard R. “Dick” Helling, 71 years, of Curtis Road, Hemlock died Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, after a long illness. He was born in Rochester, NY December 31, 1938, the son of Roy and Grace Blumenstock Helling. He was a 1956 graduate of East High School in Rochester, and then went on to serve his country in the US Army. Prior to retirement, he was employed in the printing business by such Rochester firms as Case-Hoyt and Hammer Lithograph. He was a life member of the Richmond Fire Department, life member of the Honeoye Fish and Game Club and an avid NASCAR fan.

He is survived by his wife, Lorrie; children, Marty Helling of Atlanta, GA., Jeannie (Ross Bolton) Hoag of Greensboro, NC; Sue (Bennie) Jensen of Farmington, Jim (Christy) Helling of Honeoye; four grandchildren, Michael and Alyssa Hoag and Mackenzie and Emma Helling; step-daughter Marisel (Kenneth) Green of Rochester, and their children, Sierra, Jacelle, Kenny, MacKenna and Mekhi. Marshall B Dagan, January 15, 2010, lived a full life of 87 years. He was born Easter Sunday, April 16, 1922 in York, Maine and grew up on the family’s Hillcrest Farm, overlooking the York River. Working the farm and attending school, he typically rode his pony a mile+ to his one room schoolhouse. He graduated from the University of Maine, class of ’44, as a mechanical engineer and was a member of Tau Beta Pi, engineering honor society. He immediately went to work for Sperry Gyroscope Co. servicing gyroscopes for troop ships during WWII. Two years later he joined General Electric, and worked at the Knolls Atomic Power Lab in Schenectady, designing propulsion systems for nuclear submarines and ships. He had responsibility for design and development of mechanical systems on the U.S.S. SeaWolf, the second nuclear submarine deployed, and was on her maiden voyage sea trial. Marshall also had charge of the power plant mechanical systems for the nuclear destroyer, U.S.S. Bainbridge, and attended commissioning ceremonies and launch at the Quincy, MA Shipyard. Marsh subsequently became manager for Modifications and Additions to (nuclear) Reactor Facilities. In later years he transferred to the G.E. Gas Turbine Div., where he traveled internationally for installations. Marsh loved the outdoors and was a member of the OYKs club, where he met his wife, Mary. Marsh most enjoyed woodworking, gardening, camping, skiing, boating, fishing, and traveling with his family. Having grown up as a self reliant Yankee, he could tinker with and fix just about anything.

He is predeceased by his son, Robert, and is survived by his wife Mary, his children Lawrence (Anne) and Sandra, and grandchildren, Brian, Paul, and Kelly. Services will be held in York, Maine. Livonia: Catherine Shirley Krisher, 82 years of Spring St. Livonia, died Wednesday January 6, 2010 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was born in Groveland, NY August 31, 1927 the daughter of Michael and Blanche Donovan McNeil. Shirley married her late husband, Leo Krisher, June 24, 1950. Shirley was a member of the former St. Josephs Church in Livonia and its Silver Liners Club and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of St. Matthews Church, the Livingston County and Town of Livonia Democratic Committee, the Livonia Assessment Board of Review, Livonia Zoning Board of Appeals and also was an election inspector. After her family was raised, she was employed by Brador Publications in Livonia.

She is survived by her daughter Sheila Krisher of Livonia; sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Kathy Krisher of Churchville, Michael and Debbie Krisher of Central Square, NY. Grandchildren, Sean Krisher of Churchville and Erin Krisher of Liverpool, NY. Step-grandchildren, Erik Burnam and Michelle Burnam Martin of Syracuse. Step-greatgrandchildren, Samuel and Justin Martin of Syracuse. Brother, Robert McNeil of Rochester. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Livonia: Elizabeth A. “Libby” Fusco, 92 years of South Livonia Road, Livonia, died Wednesday January 6, 2010 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. She was born in Rochester, NY June 11, 1917 the daughter of Joseph and Mary Scorsone Cicero. In earlier years, Libby was employed at the Livonia Central School Cafeteria. She was a member of the former St. Josephs Church and St. Matthews Church in Livonia. Her husband Leo B. Fusco, predeceased her in 1999. Also predeceasing her was her son, Joseph P. Fusco and grandsons Paul L. Fusco and Joseph “Teddy” Fusco.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Diane Fusco of Livonia, Leo and Ann Fusco of Livonia. Grandchildren, Brenda Semple, Jennifer (Jeff) Haddad, Jamie, Leo and Anthony Fusco. Great Grandchildren, Kristofer, Lindsay, and Brianna Semple. Mariah and Sierra Haddad, Nathan, Aiyana and Jaide Fusco. Also, her brother, Sam (Bessie) Cicero of Livonia and sisters, Anna Maniscalco of Geneseo and Lucy Finocchario of South Lima. Sisters-in-law Rosemary Cicero of Livonia, Santina Fusco of Geneseo, Italia Fusco of Avon, and Rose Fusco of Avon. Brother-in-law Joseph Fusco of Avon. Several nieces and nephews.
