David J. Wittman of Canandaigua VA formerly of Rochester, died May 28, 2010 at the Veterans Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Rochester, NY on January 7, 1940 the son of Norbert W. and Helen Paine Wittman. David graduated from Aquinas Institute in 1957 before serving in the US Air Force. He had been previously employed by Loblaws in Rochester. David is predeceased by his parents, sister, Sharon Wittman, and brother in law, Gerald Brasley.

He is survived by step mother Rosabell Preston of Lakeville; sisters Gail Brasley of Rochester, Susan Wittman Bauman,(Ken Rossi) of Lakeville, and nephews, Michael and Patrick Brasley.

Daniel J. Clark, 25 years of Canadice, formerly of Conesus, NY died suddenly Monday evening, May 10, 2010 following a motorvehicle vs. motorcycle accident in the Town of Lima. Dan was born May 18, 1984 in Dansville, NY the son of David E. Clark and Kathy J. Manzer. He was employed by VanBortel Subaru in Victor. Dan was always interested in all sorts of cars, including stock cars and race cars. He loved to ride his motorcycle and enjoyed bike racing. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Dan is survived by his 3 year old daughter Macenzie Clark of Hornell; his mother, Kathy Clark of Lakeville; father, David Clark of Horseheads. Honeoye: Cherie J. Caster-Burnett was 42 years old when she lost her courageous battle with cancer. She fought it hard right to the end, never losing her sweet disposition. She passed away Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 4:30 AM, in her own home in Hemlock, NY surrounded by her loving family. Cherie was born on November 5, 1967 in Oswego, NY to Leslie and Jean Caster.

Cherie was a loving wife and devoted mother of 3 beautiful children. She was a stay at home Mom, who spent all of her time taking care of her family. Always ready to sacrifice her own needs to ensure that her children always had what they needed. Not only was she a great mother to her own children, she was also a Mom to anyone who needed one and was addressed as Mom by many.

Cherie loved animals especially horses. She also loved Disney World, camping and the Sterling Renaissance Festival. In combining her love of family and hobbies, she brought many wonderful memories to her family.

Cherie is survived by her husband of 16 years, Christopher J. Burnett who she was with for 23 years; children, Zachary Burnett of Victor and future daughter-in-law Amanda Rampe, Logan and Rhiannon Burnett both of Honeoye. Mother, Jean DeMarc of Fairport. sisters, Sandra (William) Landers of Baldwinsville, and Wendy Hudson of Waterloo. brother, Leslie (Pam) Caster of Arizona; mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Catherine Burnett of Waterloo. Clayton H. Hermann, 92 years, of DaCola Shores, Conesus, NY died, Tuesday May 4, 2010 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Schnectady, NY the son of Bernard and Lillian Volberg Hermann. A member of the US Army Air Force, he was at Pearl Harbor when attacked in World War 2. A longtime Eastman Kodak employee, he retired about 30 years ago. He was predeceased by his loving grandchild, Sean Brisbane, in 2009.

Born in Rochester, New York, Mrs. Griswold, a homemaker, moved to Florida in 1979 from Honeoye, New York. A loving wife and mother, she enjoyed taking care of her family, gardening and her flowers, and cooking. Mrs. Griswold was a great animal lover, and enjoyed fishing and shrimping.

Joyce was employed by BOCES, then FLCC, Canandaigua, NY as a nursing instructor for many years prior to retirement, a member of the Eastern Star, Honeoye Chapter, the Keuka College Alumni Association and Honeoye United Church of Christ.

She is survived by one son; Ronald Barrett of Honeoye, NY, four daughters; Patti (Bil) Saxby of Honeoye, NY Mechele (Spencer) Shumway of Honeoye, NY, Kim (Jim) Csabi of FL, Kris (Greg) Deragon of Avon. 5 grandchildren; Andy Saxby, Ethan and Joshua Deragon, Spencer and Emma Csabi. Elwood was a 60 year member of the Livonia Fire Department serving in many capacities including Chief.

Elwood was a charter member of the Livonia Fire Department Ambulance Squad. He also was a Livingston County Deputy Fire Coordinator for many years. He was a retiree of the New York State Department of Transportation where he worked for many years. Avon : Kevin Patrick Quinlan, born July 20th, 1935 and entered into eternal peace on April 12th, 2010 at his Avon residence surrounded by his loving family. Kevin was predeceased by his parents Henry and Charlotte Quinlan and his two sisters Noreen and Annie. His love and memory goes on in Christopher and Holly Batzel, Jessica and Cody Bennett, Courtney and Katelyn Quinlan, Ashley and Zachary Quinlan, and his little Bub, Jackson Semmel. Kevin will also be missed by his doting companion, his cat Abby.

Kevin was employed as Supervisor in the Transportation Department at Niagara Mohawk (National Grid) until his retirement 18 years ago. An assessor for many years he continued to work after his retirement and was employed by the Town of Caledonia. Kevin had a 51 year history as a member and past chief of the Avon Fire Department, and he was also a member of the NYS Fire Chief’s Association as well as a social member of the Springwater Fire Department. Kevin was also Veteran of the United States Marine Corp and a member of the NYS Assessor’s Association.

Kevin was always busy doing something, and always kept track of his kids and grandkids. We dubbed that as being “roll call”. When not working or talking fire department things you could always find him riding his John Deere tractor up in Springwater. Our hero fought his battle for 2 years with great courage and dignity, and he will be greatly missed.

Friends may call Thursday 2-4 and 7-9pm at Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. Rte’s 15 & 20A, 21 Big Tree St Livonia. Funeral Mass on Friday at 11am at St. Matthew’s Church Rte 20A in Livonia. Burial at St Agnes Cemetery in Avon.
