Lisa Ann Valone (Somers) – November 7, 2018

Greece:  Lisa went to be with the Lord on November 7, 2018 at age 37.  She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents Budd & Eleanor Somers and her maternal grandmother Dorothy Cantin.  Lisa is survived by her devoted and loving husband and best friend Michael Valone; her parents Phil & Debbie Somers of Livonia and formerly of Spencerport; her brothers, Brian (Claire) of Penfield, Michael (Kristen) of Spencerport, and Christopher (Ashley) of Spencerport; nieces & nephews, Nicole, Ali, Haley, Drew, Caroline, Ben, Luke, and Jack; her grandfather Gerard (Vi) Cantin of Webster; mother and father-in-law Kathleen & David Schottler of Webster; brother-in-law Jeff (Jenn) Schottler &  sisters-in-law Aimee (Chris) Chappell and Jacki (Steve) Payne.  Also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.  Lisa will also be missed by her furry kids Addie and Hans.

Lisa grew up in Spencerport, NY, the only sister that included a pack of three brothers. Her love of cooking was fostered at an early age and she carried that passion into adulthood. She loved the water and consequently became an avid swimmer and lifeguard in high school, enjoying many summers at the family cottage on Conesus Lake. Her mother Debbie, being a lifelong educator, instilled in Lisa a dedication to her own schooling. She followed in her father Phil’s accomplished footsteps and pursued her education at Xavier in accounting. Eventually she found herself back in Rochester to continue her career. She worked at several companies over the years until settling into a role working with her father. Lisa met Michael in 2011 and they soon became inseparable. Their love of their dogs and the outdoors were just some of the commonalities that led them to be united in marriage in 2014. Lisa became a valued member of the Rochester trail running scene, not only supporting Michael in his own running, but running many races herself. Despite a long battle with Crohn’s disease, Lisa was ever the caretaker, always watching out for her parents, brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She and Michael built a life together over the last seven years that will be cherished forever. She will be missed by so many.

Family & friends may call on Monday, November 12th, from 4-8pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Rte 20A, Livonia, NY.  Lisa’s Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 13th, at 10:30am at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 6591 Richmond Mills Road, Livonia, NY.  Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.  Memorial contributions may be made in Lisa’s memory to Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, 120 Plymouth Ave., Rochester, NY 14608 or Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Road, Fairport, NY 14450.  To send a condolence or share a memory please visit:  www.doughertyfuneralhomes.com
