This really hurts my heart to see that she had passed. I’m grateful to have had the chance to talk with her via Facebook after so many years of no contact. Marilyn was such a wonderful soul. I worked with her in the in the AV room for several years in middle school. Rest in Peace my friend.
Marilyn – I will miss the many laughs we shared. Monday rainy day songs, when you talked about “your boys” Kev and Greg, Meg pie and Nadeen, your “be careful” as I would say goodbye to head home, when two Grannies couldn’t figure out how to fix your tv, your smile, our visits with Trudy, pizza, hotdogs, Tom Wahl burgers, chocolate pecan ice cream. And so much more! Rest easy my friend.
Marilyn was one of the most thoughtful and supportive people I have ever met. So friendly and outgoing and will to give a smile to all.
When I went through I difficult time in my life, she was there each day to make sure all was going to be okay; and although I didn’t think it would be ~ she was right… it was. Missed seeing her on a regular basis out shopping and in the park ~ but will forever hold the special memories in my heart. My prayers go out to the family & hope you all will remember all the special times. Blessings ~ HM Paige
I have fond memories of Mrs. Walsh from my middle school days. She was always willing to chat for a bit as I dashed between classes. She had a wonderful way of making everyone feel that they mattered. A true gem and a cherished memory.
Rest in eternal peace, Mrs. Walsh.
Marylou Farrell (middle school circa 1968)
We were very saddened to hear of Marilyn’s passing. She was one of kindest people we ever had the pleasure of working with. Whenever you needed something in a hurry you could count on her to come through. Always smiling and in a great mood seeing her always made for a better day. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time.

My first teaching job was Gates Chili Middle School where Marilyn was such a help to me as a young teacher way out of my comfort zone. She was always there to help, train, or even do my rush jobs for me with her ever present smile. She was a joy to work with.
I remember Marilyn with great fondness. Marilyn seamlessly managed the many facets of the GCMS AV Department. In addition, Marilyn led a student AV Club. Marilyn taught her club members not only AV knowledge and organizational skills, but also life lessons. The students benefited from Marilyn’s kind and caring ways. Marilyn led by example. I am sure Marilyn made a difference to many students and to many adults as well.
A Sweet, Wonderful Soul who always shared a smile,
and positive word, or laugh whenever I’d see her.
Through whatever challenges she may have faced
she always maintained a sense of love with her presence.
Both my husband and I taught at GC Summer School and had the opportunity to work with Marilyn. Always a smile and willing to go above and beyond any request. Marilyn made visiting AV in the morning a delight. Our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Suzanne and James Korneliusen
