Geraldine J. Giglio (Mastrolio) – March 13, 2025

Retsof, NY – At the age of 91, Geraldine passed away peacefully at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Thursday, March 13, 2025. She was born on December 24, 1933, to the late Giro and Josephine (Scorsone) Mastrolio.

Geraldine was predeceased by her husband, Angelo V. Giglio, sisters, Phyllis Occhioni and Elaine Temperato, brothers, Arthur Mastrolio and Peter A. Mastroliio.

She is survived by her son, Gerald (Nancy) Giglio, daughter, Jody (David) Richardson, grandchildren, Michael (Jessica) Giglio, Jonathan Giglio and Jayden Richardson, great grandchildren, Jake, Layla and Ace Giglio, sister Donna Morgan, sister-in-law, Barbara Mastrolio, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Geraldine was a guidance secretary at the York Central School District for 26 years. She loved baking cookies to pass out to family and friends at Christmas time.

Friends and family are invited to call from 5–7 PM on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the Kevin W. Doughtery Funeral Home, 21 Big Tree St., Livonia. A private burial will be held in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Geneseo, NY at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Lucy’s Church, 13 North St., Geneseo, NY 14454.

  1. I worked with Geraldine at YCS for many years. She was the guidance secretary, and whenever I went into the guidance office, I was always greeted with a smile. She was always professional, kind, and helpful. My sympathies to her family upon her passing. In pace requiescat.

  10. Being Geraldine’s neighbor for close to 50 years, my wife and I have been honored to have been so fortunate. The advice and guidance we received both in Retsof and at YCS cannot be repaid. It has certainly been a privilege and an honor. Rest assured God will have a special place for Geraldine. RIP

    Sorry for the loss of such an important person to all. Geraldine was always smiling, kind, and caring. We remember enjoying time with her and the family at many 4th of July celebrations hosted by Uncle Andy & Aunt Shirley Schwan. Such delicious foods, bocce ball games, laughter, making great memories. May Geraldine “Rest in Peace” with the many relatives and friends who have been waiting for her.

  14. I remember Geraldine as a lady who loved her family and life. In our younger years our families would always share Christmas eve together. Once or twice a month we would ha poker parties at each other’s home. She was a great player and can still remember the pots she won from me. Great in peace cousin, God bless you!
