Lakeville, N.Y. — Carolyn R. (LiFeber) Brisbane passed peacefully at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home on November 4th, 2024 at age 89. She was born on November 19, 1934 in South Lima, NY to the late Carlyle and Marion (Whaley) LiFeber. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert F. “Bob” Brisbane; her son, Robert A. “Rob” Brisbane; and her sister, Helen LiFeber-Rosener. Survived by her loving daughter, Linda Brisbane (Marty Martina) of Pittsford and several extended family members.
Carolyn spent her early years in South Lima, NY before moving with her family to a small farm on Poplar Hill Rd in Lima, NY. After graduating from Lima High School she earned a bookkeeping certificate from R.I.T. She worked at Eastman Kodak Company as a bookeeper until she married “Bob” and began her long and dedicated journey as a farm wife and devoted mother. She resumed working outside the home in the mid-1980s, first as the office manager at the Livonia Inn and then as an accounts receivable/payroll clerk at West Beer Distributors until it closed in 2001.
She was the glue that held the family and farm together, working tirelessly as bookkeeper, keeping records on the cows and milk production, assisting with crop planning, maintaining a large yard and gardens, keeping a spotless house, caring for her children and parents, and other tasks too numerous to list. Carolyn led a simple and honorable life, in good times and bad, and was loved dearly by her family. She will be greatly missed by her daughter.
The family wishes to thank the many caring nurses, aids, and staff at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home as well as her previous in-home caregivers Michaela Ryan and Shauna Tucker. Each having made Carolyn’s last few years more special and less lonely.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, Nov 7th, from 5-7 p.m. at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Rte. 15 & 20A, Livonia, N.Y., where her funeral service will be held on Friday, November 8th at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow service at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Lima, N.Y.
