  1. Karen was my favorite auntie, so playful and sassy. She had a gift for caring for animals, especially cats, that would mysteriously turn up at her doorstep- she never turned one away. She told me many stories about her beautiful life. The creek that ran near her home, walking in the woods with her devoted dog, Veda, the cardinals and bluebirds that would visit her bird feeders, her weekly card games with friends, her love for her neighbors, aka family, Mary and Ralph and their kids. As a nurse visiting people at home, Karen cared for many. While working in a facility, she sat with many at their end of life. She was kind, and fearless, and completely herself.
May her sparkle live on in our hearts.

  2. Paul (my late husband) & I met Karen through her friend Linda Hinz Burns & spent many good times with her, eating out, going to rummage sales & visiting with friends (& about her cats). She will be missed. Very pretty picture of her.
