Robert G. Harrington – December 21, 2023

Avon, NY:  At age 89, Bob passed peacefully on December 21, 2023 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris.  He was born on January 3, 1934 in Rochester, NY to the late George and Viola (Goldstein) Harrington.  In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Dorothy Harrington and son Glen Harrington.  Survived by children:  David (Robin), Daniel (Debbie), Robin (Jeff Brisbane) Frew, Tom (Betty), Scott, and Jim (Faye); 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 4 great great-grandchildren; sister Diane Thompson; also survived by nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Bob could tell you stories that would always brighten your day.  He was a veteran of the US Army and during his service he was stationed in Germany.  Bob was a truck driver at Eazor Express in Rochester, NY and was always proud that he received an award for over 25 years of safe driving.  He loved animals, country music, and the fair demolition derby.  A resident of Prospect Street in Avon, NY for over 55 years he was well known as The King.  Bob’s family is very appreciative to the caregivers at the Livingston County CNR for the exceptional care he received.

Family and friends may call on Friday, January 12th, from 4-7pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Rte 15 & 20A, Livonia, NY where Bob’s Funeral Service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, January 13th, 2024.  Burial, with military honors, will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Henrietta, NY.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Livingston County Humane Society, PO Box 233, Avon, NY 14414 or Hearthside Cats, PO Box 282, Geneseo, NY 14454.  To send a condolence or share a memory please visit:  www.doughertyfuneralhomes.com

  1. To all the Harrington Family , I am so so sorry to hear of Bobby’s passing. My heart goes out to all of you as I know how close your family is . He was quite a character and I will remember him fondly as we had a lot of good times . His character lives on in each one of you . RIP my friend. Don’t raise too much cane up there with Glen .

  2. We knew Mr. Harrington thru Steve Restivo when he was visiting him on Rochester Street in Avon. We were Steve’s neighbor. He was very nice to talk to. We also know Jim thru Lions Club. Our heart goes out to the family.

  4. jimmy krist – i worked with bobby at eazor express in the late sixtys, and we kept in touch thru the years. he had a lot a old trucking stories and was fun to work with and have a few beers sometimes after work , boby was 2nd seniorty at eazor and tom dragon never let him forget it, i’ll miss him jimmy krist

  6. Knew Bobby from Kodak when he hauled for Eazor Trucking and used to love giving me a hard time he was a great kidder . I remember when had his throat surgery use to live in Avon on Folerville Rd use to see him a the Village restaurant. Bobby was a great guy and will be missed dearly. Bobby take care hope to one day see you again .Lots of love to your family in their sympathy and loss..

  7. Bob, being my neighbor for a few years, looked out fore as well as my pets. He found joy in their antics and would tell me how they waited for me at the end of the driveway. I enjoyed his company as well as his stories. Fly hi, Bob!
