Jacquelyn K. (Walker) Thompson – December 17, 2023

Jacquelyn K. (Walker) Thompson, 58 years, of Livonia.  It is with the most profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jacky just before midnight on December 17, 2023, with her family by her side.  Jacky was born on January 8, 1965 in Elmira, NY. She was predeceased by her mother, Beverly (Reel) Thilking. Those left to cherish her memory include her father, John “Jack” (Sharon) Walker of MA; children, Brandon (Tracy) Thompson and Alyssa Thompson (Tyler Strickland) of Livonia; grandchildren, Adrianna, Anahlia, Koda, Christian, Cameron, and Dominic; sisters, Debby Walker of West Walworth and Cherie (Walker) Salmeto of MI.  Also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and beloved friends.

At a young age, Jacky enjoyed life on the farm in South Sodus and spending time with her sisters. She attended Lyons Junior-Senior High and graduated from Eastridge Senior High in 1983; where she recently spent time helping to plan both school reunions. Jacky worked nearly 25 years at Xerox in Webster and later switched careers to become a Corrections Officer. The last few years she worked remotely for Rochester Midland Corp as a Business Support Analyst. Jacky enjoyed attending country concerts and going out to eat with her friends. Above all, she cherished her time with her children and grandchildren; becoming a “Mema” was her greatest joy in life. She was well-known for her cake decorating when it came to her grandchildren’s birthday parties. Jacky will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and selflessness.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 13, 2024, from 12-3:30 pm at the Fairport Brewing Company and Meadery, 1044 University Ave, Rochester, NY 14607.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Mia Foundation, which helps animals with birth defects, online at www.themiafoundation.com  To send a condolence or share a memory please visit:  www.doughertyfuneralhomes.com

We did not agree on everything, and sometimes did.
One thing I always loved about Jacky was her big ,kind and generous heart and soul with a rebel lineing. We went our separate ways but still talked. I know we both cherished that. I will still talk to her.

  12. One of my dearest friends who always talked about her children and grandchildren. She was very proud of her family and they are all a blessing to know as well. Jacky was a giving person who always made time for you. She helped me with my adoption paperwork for my son and was always supportive. We would always sign off with one another with heart 2 heart 4 Ever in emojis. There just aren’t enough words to explain how much she will be missed but her memory, love and caring ways will live on in all who knew her.
