Joanne Pipitone ~ December 14, 2019

Honeoye Lake:  At age 77, Joanne passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.  Joanne was born in Rochester, NY to the late John and Josephine Loce.  Survived by her beloved husband of forever; Paul Pipitone, her children; Scott Pipitone, Lisa Pipitone, her grandchildren; Gray Pipitone, Gianna Pipitone, Gunnar Pipitone, her brothers; Richard and Robert Loce along with her “chosen family”:  her daughter, Debbie (Trevor) Huls, her grandchildren, Ashley (Kevin), Cassidy (Kevin), Tanner, and her great grandchildren; Gavin and Nova.

Joanne loved to help others by volunteering at St. Mary’s Church, the Garden Club, American Legion, and the Honeoye Food Pantry.  In her honor and in lieu of flowers please consider a contribution to the Honeoye Food Pantry, 8758 Main Street, Honeoye, New York 14471.   When she wasn’t volunteering, you could find her in the kitchen cooking delicious Italian meals or spending time with her loved ones. Joanne will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but will continue to live on in their memory forever.

Friends and Family are invited to call on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 from 4-7 PM at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, 8624 Main Street in Honeoye.  Joanne’s Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 8961 Main Street in Honeoye.  Interment will take place following Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery on County Road 37 in Honeoye.  To share a condolence or a memory please visit:  www.doughertyfuneralhomes.com

  3. Dear Paul and Family,
    Both Jim and I were both so saddened to hear of Joanne’s passing. She was such a vibrant lady who was always so willing to lend a hand helping others. It never ceased to amaze me how many of the same people were knew from outside of Honeoye. Joanne was one who was never afraid to get into something that needed to be done, even if it meant a little extra work.

  4. I am so glad I was able to meet Joanne! She always had a smile on her face and always hugged me when she saw me! She will be missed! You will be a great Angel in Heaven as you were here on earth!

    I am so sorry for the loss of such a loving woman. She was such a beautiful lite in everyone’s life. She was there for our family when we lost both our parents, she was always there with a smile and a hug. She will be greatly missed by us all.

  7. I reamber joann standing in the front of the church when i Walked in she alwhys had a smile on her face. She was so happy. She never stopped smileing. Me and my Mom had a Lady s Christmas party last Sat. She came. I will never forget her walking though the front door

    She was helping a another friend of mine. What a sweet lady! I will miss her alot i will miss her in church and at the legan.

  8. Wayne and I are so sorry to hear of Joanne passing. She worked tirelessly even when it was difficult to do. She was a real go-getter when it came to her volunteer work. Her passing leaves such a vacancy in our earthly works.

    Shocked and sad comes to mind as I know all of you and anyone that knew Joanne are feeling. I am so sorry and I wish I had only…held her hand tighter that evening we saw you at dinner. She was a very special lady to so many and we will miss her dearly. So Joanne..till we see each other again..BEHAVE.

  12. We feel so blessed to have gotten to know Joanne over the past several years. Our little visits to talk about the happenings around the lake were always so fun. Joanne’s sense of humor and warmth are what make our second home so special. I can’t think of Honeoye without remembering Joanne’s wave from the deck as she was enjoying the summer weather. She will be missed by our family.
