Peter M. Bauer – September 20, 2018

Dansville: Peter was born on September 23, 1937 in Munich, Germany and passed peacefully on September 20, 2018 at Rochester General Hospital surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his mother Maria, his father Ludwig, and his aunt Terry, who brought him to America as a teenager.

He is survived by his loving wife Dagmar; his daughter Diana (Rick) Williams of Livonia; grandchildren, Christopher (Nicole) Williams of Livonia, McKenzie (Robert) Mosko of Dansville, and Benjamin Williams (Jessie Sawers) of Livonia; great-grandchildren, Robbie and Mila Mosko & Avery and Jameson Williams. Also survived by his aunt Pepperl; cousins, Nick, Gail, and Sepp and their families; his step-sister Annelies (Helmut), brother-in-law Armin (Ulrike), sister-in-law Jutta (Klaus), sister-in-law Gerlinde and all their families, and his comrades from the US Army and members of the American Legion Posts in East Rockaway and Livonia. Pete proudly served our country in the US Army from 1955-1984 retiring as a 1st Sergeant with 28 years of service.

Friends and Family may call on Friday, September 28th, from 5-7pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Rte 15 & 20A, Livonia, NY where a Legion Service will be held at 7pm. Burial will be held privately at Arlington National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Peter’s Memory to the Harrison-Lee American Legion Post 283, 3850 Federal Road, Livonia, NY 14487 or the Dansville Ambulance, 18 Ossian Street, Dansville, NY 14437.   1. Sorry for the loss. I knew Pete back in the day with the MP Customs. He was well suited for the work he did and he did it well, May he rest in peace…

  2. I’m just now learning of Peter’s death and am saddened! Peter was our Operations Sergeant with Border Operations Detachment, 42d MP Group (Customs) when I was assigned to Field Office Schinnen in The Netherlands from 1976 to 1979. He was a great guy; I had been trying to locate him to invite him to numerous MP Customs Reunions; may you rest in peace, Peter!
