Glen R. Harrington – January 16, 2018

Avon: January 16, 2018 at age 60. Predeceased by his mother Dorothy Harrington. Survived by children; Glen Alan (Shannon) Smith of FL and Heather (Greg) Davy of Perry; grandchildren, Nicholas Smith, and Madison & Riley Davy; father Robert Harrington of Avon; siblings, David (Robin), Daniel (Debbie), Robin (Jeff Brisbane) Frew, Tom (Betty), Scott (Darlene), and Jim (Faye.) Also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Glen was born on June 5, 1957 in Rochester, NY to parents Robert G. Harrington and Dorothy (Granath) Harrington. He was one of 7 children in the family and lived in Avon, NY for many years. He was a skilled craftsman and worked in drywall for most of his life. Glen enjoyed spending time with friends and camping.

Friends may call on Saturday, January 20th, from 12noon-2:30pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Rte 15 & 20A, Livonia, NY, where Glen’s Memorial Service will follow calling hours at 2:30pm. Private burial will be held in the future at Maplewood Cemetery, Henrietta, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Livingston County, PO Box 233, Avon, NY 14414.   4. Our deepest sympathy to all of the family & friends of Glen, who we consider ourselves. Glen was a very caring and fun loving guy. We will never forget when he let our kids help put the roof on our house one summer. They really enjoyed it. We will deeply miss his visits in the summer and know he is where he needs to be now with his Mom and many other loved ones.

  7. Have known Glen and all of you for so many years – so very sorry to hear but I believe too that he’ll be in a much better place. I remember when Bobby owned McGregor’s and we all hung out and I remember when Bobby and Glen were doing the construction on a company I worked for. So many good memories.

I remember the first time we went to the diner and you tried to get me to eat the garbage plate but instead I got a cheeseburger and chips. I love you. Your legacy will live on.
