Honeoye: Peacefully at home on May 18, 2016 at age 71 years. Predeceased by his parents Russell and Lena (Hulbert) Austin. Survived by children; Michael Austin of Goshen, Lorie (Ronald) Ponko of Honeoye, and Christine (Anthony) Formicola of Marion; Grandchildren, Samantha Austin, Tasha (Shawn) Youngman, Michael Austin, and Tyler Ponko (Kara Egger); Great-grandchildren, Dallon, Xander, Aubreigh, and Cameron. Also survived by siblings; Charles (Sharon) Austin, Annalee Rowley, and Donna (Raymond) Edwards.
Dale served in the US Army from 1962-1965. Dale enjoyed spending time outside and retired from the heavy equipment operators Union in 2007. After retiring he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed spending time with his dog Clem they went every were together. He also enjoyed any challenge set in front of him he was very versed in many trades and just about figured out how to make anything work.
Friends may call on Saturday, May 28th, from 2-4pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 8624 Main Street, Rte 20A, Honeoye, where services will immediately follow at 4pm, with military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Dale’s memory to the Ontario-Yates Hospice, 756 Pre-Emption Road, Geneva, NY 14456.
