  1. I have known Bob my whole life, first as a school bus driver on the East Lake Rd., and then as a best friend to my husband, with whom he shared several interests. (He was the best man at my wedding.)I have not seen him in a long time, and didn’t hear of his passing until quite a while after, but he still remains in my memory as someone who was always always there to help whoever needed help, a loyal friend.

  2. I will miss Bob dearly, he was my bus driver many years ago and whenever I saw him I always got a hug and kiss from him and he told me how much I meant to him and believe me the feeling was mutual. He had charm, laughter and love in his many years on this earth. I apologize for not coming to the service, as I was unaware of his passing, but my thoughts and prayers are with all of his family. Bob~ I will miss running into you at Shurfine and miss our little chats and most of all I miss your smile, hugs and kisses. Rest in Peace dear Bob. We will meet up again someday!! My sincere and heartfelt wishes to your family. All my love!

  3. My condolences to Bob’s family. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers at this time. With sincere sympathy, Mary Jo

  4. I think that life is measured by the memories we leave with others. Bob Gendreau measures large in my book. Bob is in my earliest memories. He was Tom’s father who lived just up the street. He set up the race track for electric cars in the basement. He took us to the lake and caught snapping turtles with which he made soup. He taught us to water ski when we were 10. When we were young he brought home that ornery shetland pony (I won’t hold that against him). I don’t think we ever rode that damn horse. If you were a friend of Tom’s, you were welcomed into his home. That’s the way he was. When my wife Pat and I built a new home, Bob did the plumbing for us. He and Pat would strap our youngest son into a car seat in Bob’s truck and head to Canandaigua for supplies. Those are fond memories for Pat. Sometimes it’s the simplest things that mean the most. This is time to reflect and celebrate the life of Bob Gendreau. I know that our lives are richer with the memories of Bob. Although we are unable to be there our thoughts are with the family.

  5. I will miss Bob’s seasoned wisdom and droll humor. He was always so observant and honest with us at Rotary gatherings. He led a full life. Blessings to his family. Marilyn M.
