Robert J. Krest – August 18, 2011

Livonia: Robert J. Krest, 80 years, of Wildbriar Dr. Livonia, NY died late Thursday evening, August 18, 2011 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY. He was born in Rochester, NY August 11, 1931 the son of Nicholas and Eleanor Herington Krest. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War, being awarded several citations including 2 Purple Hearts. A life long resident of Livonia, he graduated from Livonia High School, and was a member of the Livonia VFW Post and the Harrison-Lee American Legion Post #283. Prior to his retirement in June, 1986 he was employed by DELCO in Rochester, where his career spanned 30 years.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Jack, Gary, and Nick Krest, Jr. Also his sisters, Bonnie Riddle and Grace Ruppert.

Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary E. Hirschman; 3 sons: Robert (Mary) Krest, Jr. of Hemlock, Rick Krest of Gates, NY, and Russell Krest of Cheektowaga, NY. 1 grandson, Jonathon. Brother, Arch (Marylou) Krest of Lima; Sisters Sally Krest of Greece and Ann Kresovic of Geneseo, several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Sunday, August 21, 2011 from 2 – 5 PM at Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. Routes 15 & 20A, 21 Big Tree St. Livonia, NY. Private Interment.
