Sherry L. (Estey) Gallagher ~ January 30, 2025

Canandaigua: Our beloved Sherry gained her wings on January 30, 2025. She was born November 13, 1956, to Donald and Marlene (Quayle) Estey.  Sherry was predeceased by many friends and loved ones. Most notably, her infant son, Brian Jacobson (1976)  She is survived by her loving partner Terry Lincoln; mother Marlene Smith; and sons Andrew (Hedy) Jacobson and Kelly (Tiffany) Jacobson. Sherry was a proud grandmother to Cody (Tamara) Jacobson, Emma, Paige and Benjamin Jacobson. She was very excited at the news that her first great-grandchild (Baby Joy) is expected in August. Sherry is survived also by brothers Tom (Joanne) Estey and Richard Jenner; sisters Susan Becker and Donna Jean Ochs;  her nieces and nephews, Briana (Quinon) Collins, Amanda Estey, Chelsea (Hannah) Becker, William (Amanda) Becker and Christopher (Brenna) Becker; three great nieces/nephews, beloved aunts and uncles as well as many, many cousins and friends.

Sherry’s main career was as a Real Estate Broker for nearly 50 years. She began in the 70s with Hugh Turner of RiCo Realty in Victor, working until her last days for Larry Magguilli of Hunt Real Estate ERA. She loved real estate and spoke fondly of those she worked with through the years. A few of Sherry’s great passions were her family, Elvis, Bruce Springsteen, dogs (her latest was Darryl the rescued pitbull), the family farm, and cows!  Oh how she loved the cows.  Each was named and as “Dr Sherry” she helped bring several of the calves into this world. Her favorite was Rachel – a beautiful brown Highlander.  Sherry’s walls, bedding and clothes were adorned with pictures of Highlanders.  Her “Rachel” blanket traveled with her to each chemotherapy and radiation appointment. Sherry never lost her beautiful smile or amazing sense of humor – “dancing” in her hospital bed and making jokes with loved ones. Memories of her love and laughter will carry us through.

The family would like to thank Clifton Springs Oncology and Radiation department, the staff and volunteers of Light Hill Hospice Home and a special thank you to Jeff and Elaine Jacobson for their support in her last days. Too numerous to mention are all those who provided meals and gifts to brighten our days as we cherished the moments with Sherry.  Thank you all!

A celebration of Sherry’s life and love is planned at the family farm this Summer. Arrangements entrusted to Dougherty Funeral Homes, Livonia and Honeoye.
