William “Terry” Walter ~ January 1, 2025

Livonia: At age 84, Terry passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY. He was born on February 18, 1940, to the late Philip and Anne Walter. Survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Patricia A. (Morrissey) Walter, his daughters, Amy (Mark) Morsch, and Kim (Tim) Bland, his grandchildren, Emily (Paul) Wilson, Ryan Bland, Peter Morsch, and Elizabeth Morsch, his siblings, Charles (Sara) Walter, Marilyn (William) Christopher, and Suzanne Holcomb, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Terry served in the Army from 1964 to 1966 and then was in the Reserves. He received his degree from Rochester Institute of Technology. Terry was a dedicated employee at Rochester Gas & Electric as an electrical engineer for 30 years. After retiring in 1995, he worked for many years at O’Connell Electric. Terry was an avid golfer and extremely handy. He always had a home improvement project in the works, being most proud of the house he and Pat built together. Terry was a devoted and loving family man. He was very proud of his children and, even more so, his grandchildren. He was more than happy to brag about them whenever possible and beamed when doing so. Terry will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

A Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 6, 2025, at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 6591 Richmond Mills Road in Livonia. Interment will not take place at this time. Aside from being a wonderful person, husband and father, the thing I will always remember about Terry was his inability to to name Kim. Poor baby came home with no name. Pat and I would sit on our outside stoops and yell names across the the street. None made Terry happy. I don’t recall who came up with Kim but if I were to bet it would have been Terry.
