Thomas Anderson “Andy” Mayfield – October 19, 2024

Mendon, NY: At age 78, Andy passed away on October 19, 2024, at home with his loving wife by his side. He was born in Buffalo, NY on March 27, 1946, to the late James and Mildred (Shaw) Mayfield.

Andy retired from a long career in banking, ending his career serving as SVP at the Savings Bank of the Finger Lakes. Andy proudly served his country and received the Purple Heart in 1969 for injuries incurred during the Vietnam War.

Andy loved fast cars. From his teenage years of driving his 3 elderly great aunts to his adult life of rally racing and auto auctions, Andy loved cars.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Evaniuck, children Melanie (Andrew) Rogers and Thomas (Ginger) Mayfield. Grandchildren Ian (Hannah) Rogers, Cole Rogers, Ella Rogers, great-grandchildren Roland Rogers and Evelyn Rogers, niece Jennifer Evaniuck, and grand-nieces Ashley and Avery.

He will be sadly missed by friends he has made and kept in touch with since childhood.

  2. Andy was a great guy to work with at Savings Bank of the Finger Lakes. He will be missed. My condolences to his family and friends.

  3. Andy was such a good guy. He loved telling stories, especially if they poked fun at establishment places. He was one of those rare people who actually listened if someone else was telling a story. I think if he hadn’t been a banker, he would’ve been a race car driver in his Porsche. Whenever we went out to dinner, he was the only one who ordered dessert. He would then pass it around the table for everyone else to enjoy. A good friend and neighbor. To anyone who needed banking or investment advice, Andy was always available. We will miss him, Sandy.
