James P. Haynes Jr. – December 26, 2023

Honeoye: At age 77, Jimmy passed away on December 26, 2023, after a 5-year struggle with dementia. He was born on August 17, 1946 to the late James and Gloria (Meredith) Haynes. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Michael Haynes. He is survived by his wife; Cheryl (Bennett) Haynes, sons; Michael Conner, Matthew Conner, Jason Haynes, brother; Richard Haynes, Sisters; Karen (Steve) Olas, Laura McGonigal, and seven grandchildren. Also survived by numerous extended family and friends. A Special thanks to Dakota Conner, Maddy Haynes and Kelly Johnston.

Jimmy was a navy veteran, and went to work for Eastman Kodak retiring after 32 years. He then worked at Walmart for 20 years, rarely taking a day off. He was a solid hard working no “bs” man taking pride in providing for his family. A man of few words but you could get “the look”. Jimmy loved the lake, but most of all loved his grandchildren, Maddie and Dakota. His quiet and kind old soul with a down to earth presence will be truly missed.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held in the spring.  To send a condolence or share a memory please visit: www.doughertyfuneralhomes.com
