Nunda: At age 90, Joyce passed away on November 8, 2023. She was born on November 23, 1932 to the late Leo and Rose Folts. Survived by her daughters; JoAnn Waldon, Dawn (Daniel) Bizzell, Karen Zeh, Susan (Sam Adams) Zeh, son; Norman (Deanna) Zeh, sister; Barbara (Victor) Sick. Grandchildren; Rebecca Ochs, Kristen Waldon, Adele and Benjamin Zeh, Emily Waters, Jennifer Flore, Audrey, Jason and Jeffery Putney, Andrea Zeh, Christina Adams, Brandon and Lauren Zeh. Great grandchildren; Jack, Nicholas, Michael, Dylan, Everly, Willem, and Isobel. Joyce was predeceased by her husband; Norman, daughter; Deborah Zeh, sisters; Ania (George) Mark, Patricia Bidlack, brothers; Raymond Folts and James Folts.
Joyce had many fond memories of growing up in Cohocton as a child. After graduating high school, she attended SUNY Geneseo for education. In 1953, she married her husband Norman, who was enlisted in the Navy at the time. Joyce began her career working with children in 1953. In 1959, Norman and Joyce moved to Nunda to raise their children and grow their careers. Joyce founded a nursery school in Nunda, worked as the executive director at Livingston County Youth Bureau, and completed her career at BOCES working with students at risk. She enjoyed going on family vacations, including a yearly camping trip to the Adirondacks. Each holiday was a chance for her to host and have her family together. Joyce enjoyed crafting and quilting as hobbies, which she passed along to her children and grandchildren. Throughout her life she was a member of the Trinity Church in Nunda and had many close friends through the church.
A memorial service will be held on November 12, 2023, 2:00 PM at the Trinity Church of Nunda 25 East Street, Nunda, NY 14517. Memorial contributions may be made in Joyce’s name to: Trinity Church Women’s Association, 25 East Street, Nunda, NY 14517.

So sorry to hear that Joyce passed. Always a great neighbor. Joyce opened up her home to us when the dam broke and our home was flooded. Always grateful for that act of kindness
