Lima, NY: At age 54, Kathy passed peacefully on June 29, 2023 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. She was born on December 30, 1968 in Fairfax, VA. Kathy is survived by her parents Thomas and Marilyn (Schulz) Brown of Conesus, NY and her sisters; Regina (Michael) Wiss of St. Mary’s, GA and Michelle Rice of Kendall, NY; nieces & nephews, Michael Milburn, Abby Rice, Olivia Rice, Thomas Rice, Katie Rice, Rachel Wiss, and Jennifer (Damian) Alejo; also survived by many caregivers and friends.
Kathy was involved with Special Olympics for many years and participated in many events including, swimming, bowling, softball, and running. Her favorite activity was going out to eat, especially at McDonald’s. She always enjoyed a good Big Mac and a Coke.
Up until the last few years Kathy lived at the group home in Lima, NY and was always happy to have visitors. Her famous line when anyone came to visit was “what did you bring me.” It did not have to be anything big but she enjoyed any little gifts, especially stuffed animals, and costume jewelry. Kathy enjoyed talking about family members and always remembered names and special events. She enjoyed fishing and believe it or not one time she even caught a turtle!
Kathy’s Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, July 5th, at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 6591 Richmond Mills Road, Rte 20A, Livonia, NY 14487. Interment will follow at St. Rose Cemetery, Lima, NY. Marilyn and Tom I am so sorry to just hear about Kathy’s passing. I remember kitchen talks at St Matthew’s about her and thinking how lucky she was to have you for parents. I will hold you in my thoughts and prayers.
