Avon, NY: At age 84, Bill passed at his home on September 8, 2022. He was born on October 9, 1937 in Rochester, NY to the late John Sr. “Jack” and Mary (McCallister) Driscoll. Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marjorie (Dare) Driscoll and children: Debbie Driscoll of Rochester, Terry (Jason) Bowers of TN, Sheila (Jorge) Gomez of NY, and Billy Driscoll of Avon; grandchildren, Sean, Chris, and Samantha Bowers & Dylan, Leila, and Daniel Gomez.
Bill had several passions in his early years, including being an avid boxer winning many awards. In his later years, he especially enjoyed sparring with his grandsons. Bill was a long-time trapper & hunter and owned a successful fur business. He was also the President of AB Equipment Corp., a family owned vending business. Bill further loved his many dogs that he hunted, raced, and showed. His trophies and awards are too numerous to include. Additionally, Bill was a proud veteran having served in the U.S Air Force and the National Guard. Bill’s greatest accomplishments, however, are his six grandchildren, whom he loved very much.
A graveside service with military honors will be held privately. To send a condolence or share a memory please visit: www.doughertyfuneralhomes.com
I was just going over to Bills this evening to get some Beaver traps and shoot the shit. My friend told me bill had passed in September. I was shocked. I have great memories of all I learned from Bill over the years about dogs, training dogs and trapping. I spent many evenings in the fur shack, and got educated about his right hook.he told me he would hit me with so many rights, I would beg for a left. The best mountain currently I ever owned , Fuzzy, came thru bill from Kent Waltman , who also passed way too soon. That dog would be in the house with us like a pet, but come night time in October , raccoons we’re in big trouble. I’m sorry I hadn’t seen you in a few years, but believe me , your kindness and love you shown me and my dad, who passed in 1991,will always be cherished and never forgotten. God rest your soul ,Bill. Chris plain and family
