Warren A. Marsland ~ September 4, 2022

Lakeville:  Sunday, September 4, 2022, at age 86. Warren passed peacefully at home in Lakeville, NY, surrounded by loved ones, after a brief recurrence of cancer that had been in remission for 7 years.  He was born in Rochester, NY to the late Lathrop and Dorothy Marsland.   Survived by his children, Richard Marsland (Valerie Dimino) and Allison (Maria Rello) Marsland; his grandchildren, Denison Marsland-Rello (Miriam De La Riva Ovalle), Paige Marsland (Matthew Howard), Connor Marsland, Zachary Marsland-Rello and Marce Marsland-Rello; his siblings, Jonatha Nilsson and KD Basketfield-McGovern.  Warren is predeceased by his beloved dachshund, Wally.

He was a 1954 graduate of the Allendale School, earned a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University, then returned to Allendale in 1958, where he worked until retiring in 1997. He gave generously of his time and attention to students, faculty, and staff, as well as to his family, friends, and neighbors. He was a longtime member and past chief of the Lakeville Fire Department and was a proud lawn mower, gardener, and bridge player.

Friends and family are invited to call from 2-4PM on September 10, 2022 at the Kevin W.   1. My condolences to all friends and family. Warren was a long-time friend and bridge partner. His dedication to the Rochester Area Bridge Association had a lasting effect that endures to this day. He will be sadly missed.

  2. So many of us expressed our sorrow at news of Warren’s passing when we received word this week. He was a very kind person at the table and beyond. He worked hard during his assignments on the Board of RABA, and was appreciated for his efforts.
    Condolences to his family and friends from many bridge players in the Rochester plus area.

  3. Warren was a great gentleman and a very good bridge player. He was always a pleasure to compete with. He contributed significantly to our Rochester Area Bridge Association.

  5. Warren was so wonderful to me when I first arrived at AC to teach in 1995. He always had time for me and shared the history of the school. My condolences to the family he dearly loved.

  8. I knew Warren the three years a Mrs. Botsfords dancing school. He played bridgein Geneseo. It was fun speaking of long ago friends.
